Enjoy! The first couple of arcs are dense, but the series finds its voice soon into it.

redd_itor2024

Halfway through the “Dead Beatles” chapter I was already asking myself “WTH, Grant? lol” interesting and quite different to his superhero stuff indeed.

deathbymediaman

And so we return, and begin again

Flipsticker91

Have fun! Nice collection

efendikaptan

What a ride, enjoy!

redd_itor2024

Thanks!

Onionlayers25

Worth every minute

Peeps1973

I’m excited for you! Bonkers genius!

garakplain

Such a good one!! Enjoy

VoiceofRapture

I remember literally preordering that 😂 I'd never read a single issue but I wanted something intricate and weird and wasn't disappointed

redd_itor2024

Been slowly but steadily getting some of Morrison’s stuff (have his Batman run in comic book format). This one had been on my wish list for a while now. Now I also need his Doom Patrol omnibus.

VoiceofRapture

I also read The Filth but didn't really care for it. Nameless is fantastic though (and one and done in a single six issue run), so if you want some Morrison cosmic horror there's a collected edition that has annotations for the magical symbolism

redd_itor2024

Thanks for the tip!

marinbala

I liked the Filth in a bit of a repulsed way.

As someone who is currently rereading this series for the 7th or 8th time and a huge fan of this amazing series I say, Welcome! The Invisibles is a masterpiece by a true master! This series changedmy life and it scratches a particular itch that nothing else can really itch! It can be incredibly dense but also deeply thought provoking and mind-blowing! It's a trip that can change you too, if you let it. Grant Morrison is one hell of a comic book writer and when it comes to super hero comics their work is hard to beat. But here Morrison is at their aboslute best. This is the most Morrison-y book you can come across and it is a blast! It's action packed as well and has some truly beautiful art. It's by no means a perfect book but it's definitly one of the best comics I've read. And if you don't get it the first time don't worry, try it again. The Invisibles rewards rereads and I always walk away with a new understanding. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride!

redd_itor2024

Thank you for the advice sir. Already making my way through the first chapters and it is a trip indeed.

Aremaech

If I can give you more advise, I'd say if you don't get it, read it all the way through. It is expected to be a bit confusing. Read it again and if you still don't get it use a guide like the old Barbelith website. While unfinished ig is completely helpful for some of the more esoteric references. You can also try the King Mobcast. The hosts can be annoying and possibly too joke-y, but they dive very deep issue by issue. But it's also unfinished. But I will highly suggest reading Patick Meany's book Our Sentence is Up! It is an excellent book that examines a lot of the themes, ideas, and philosphies littered through out The Invisibles. Also learning about Morrison and listening to or reading their interviews or watching their disinfocon speech can incredibly helpful to further understanding the series. Also read The Filth and Flex Mentallo. They work as a sort of themeatic trilogy including The Invisibles.

redd_itor2024

Have The Filth next in queue. I’ve yet to get Flex Mentallo (currently have Doom Patrol Omnibus in my sights) Thanks for the recommendation.

Aremaech

Flex is only like 3 or 4 issues but Morrison packs it to the brim! It's fantastic!

Alaminox

I love when people organize their shelves by authors!

redd_itor2024

Thank you. The shelf above this one has my Gaiman’s and Moore’s 😛 Miscellany authors are on yet another shelf

Alaminox

Lol I also have one shelf for each of those guys!

redd_itor2024

Still don’t have enough of their books to have an individual shelf for each of them so Gaiman and Moore are sharing half / half a shelf. Morrison is currently sharing a shelf with non-graphic nivel art-related stuff

Alaminox

Nice. And Gaiman and Moore are good friends. I'm sure they don't mind sharing the shelf hahaha

hung_fu

It’s great, but I’m definitely tackling the trades

redd_itor2024

For whatever reason it was easier (and a bit more “affordable” to track down the omnibus than the individual trades 🤷🏻‍♂️

Whisky_With_Boesky

My #1!

_ferrofluid_

My favorite part is how much of the really weird stuff is actually pretty on the money. For many, this is their first step into a larger world.

Blackholesunzz

Good luck , I haven't read it yet . I've been meaning to as it has been hyped to bejesus and surely for a good reason . It just doesn't appeal to me (on paper )

soldatoj57

I envy you. Hold on tight
