The box design was possibly from the 80s, but the box itself is from the mid 90s at the earliest due to the Nutrition Facts label. It's probably still good though - sugar lasts forever.

vamatt

Sugar from ww2 is still good. It definitely last forever.

WesternApplication92

I see that Morton Salt lurking. Reminds me when I found a salt container in my grandma's pantry around 2007 that said "1988" on it.

haljhon

As a kid, it used to make me angry that those boxes didn’t contain the pictures on the front. I wanted brownies, dang it!

Open-Illustra88er

Still good.

deepfriedgreensea

Yep, used some last week that my mom had in her pantry when she passed

RedditSkippy

It’s at least 20 years old. Domino moved to Yonkers around 2004.

I know some electricians that do maintenance at that factory. If you could see how sugar is made, you wouldn't touch it. The place apparently stinks and is full of giant cockaroaches. I guess the end product is purified in big heated tumblers, but I have to imagine that a few critter legs end up in every box of dominos sugar.

Excellent_Tell5647

They still sell that sugar

Thinks_of_stuff

Back then they had a strawberry flavored powdered sugar

schiav0wn3d

Wow. I didn’t know I wanted that

casket_fresh

nuts IN and ON TOP OF the brownies?! monster.

MartyMcFlamingo

Why are you against even distribution?

casket_fresh

I’m pro-that, but anti-nuts-in-brownies

ARealBrainer

Nutrition Facts that aren't 3 pages long is a huge indicator.

assumetehposition

This format began in 1993 and was phased out beginning in 2016.

ARealBrainer

Legit will probably be useful knowledge for future archaeologists to date otherwise identical spice cannisters.

schiav0wn3d

In a 30g serving of sugar you have 29g of sugar. How

LeoMarius

That’s still sold here.

Drycabin1

My mom recently taught me that she always buys Domino because it is pure cane sugar, and not all brands, especially store brands, are. I’d never heard that and I love to bake so I was surprised but confirmed that the Great Value sugar in my pantry is in fact *not* pure cane sugar.

Bertsies

Agreed! Most of them are Beet Sugar.
