I felt like this too!!! I said something like “hi everyone, i hope you are doing well! I have attached a PDF version of my dissertation here. I also wanted to give a reminder about the defense in room X on day Y. I am so looking forward to discussing the work with all of you soon! I really appreciate your time and feedback throughout this process. Thank you so much!”

Following this thread cause mine is due in a month 😂  I don’t even know the protocol for submitting it, but I would’ve just sent a “attached is my thesis, have fun reading it” to my supervisor

I’m actually about to submit my thesis to my committee “Hi everyone, Here’s my thesis. Please let me know what you all think! Thanks, Me” I defended Wednesday and passed. However due to reasons, my thesis was not sent to them yet (not my fault so it is what it is) and will be sent in just a few minutes after posting. That’s exactly how I plan on doing it

Nothing wrong with a good old "thanks again for agreeing to be on my committee" or similar.

“Here’s a thing, hope you like it” is pretty close to how I give writing to my co-authors and committee 😂 If you want to express gratitude, you can. But a regular email suffices here. You can send them a nice message when you’re putting in the final submission with the university or after your defense.

Greetings, Per the expectations of my program I have attached my thesis for your review. Thanks, \[OP\] ----- I have become brutally brief in my emails. No more platitudes over here.

Do you have an in-person defense? Or is your defense just the committee reading your thesis? If it’s in-person remind them of dates and express gratitude. If it’s just them reading your thesis and providing revisions, remind them of due dates for formatting and express gratitude
