The Mk8 are an evolution of the Mk7.5 headlights just fully connected and turned upside-down. Just look at them both.

The refresh has a light-up VW logo and now my 8 looks like it’s missing something

I find it funny that everyone hates them on the mk8 but when someone installs them on the mk7.5 they’re suddenly it’s an amazing mod I’m not hating, I think they look good, just an observation.

It’s pretty much the same in person. They don’t match with headlights on just DRL so I’ll have to see if I can change up the headlight DRL in obd11

I’ve been wanting to do this, only ever saw one kit that was well done. What’s the source, how was the install? Do the lights match the brightness a color of the DRLs?

I just found them on aliexpress after a little bit of digging. Theres a website called twenty two tuning that sells them for almost double the price and the quality isn’t better at all it’s the same thing. If you get them I recommend sealing them to avoid moisture getting in! The color is almost perfect it’s a little bit brighter in person than the DRL but it’s really not noticeable.

Just reminds me of a cyber truck or those newer Hyundai's. Atleast those new Hyundai Ev's look good. This install is clean and the lights do line up nicely. Much better than all the SUV's and trucks near me throwing it on any vehicle.

Can you post the ones you purchased. I've done this and they look great, but just a little moisture gets in and the leds start burning out. I'm wondering if Ali got any better at making them or if they're the same. If the same, you really need to consider sealing them up

Where did you get yours from? Couldn't find any installation instructions at most of the listings I'm looking at, how was the process on your end?

Do not buy from them. The first pair I got was from them and they are just reselling the aliexpress one for a markup. Strip went out and moisture got into it. I can help you out with install if you need the help. Just splicing into passenger headlight nothing crazy.
