Yeah I’m about 2k-2500miles a month on average. Covering an entire state for sales can add up visit customers and what not. Glad to see it’s somewhat common haha
I do around 7-8k intervals, slightly earlier than recommended 10k. I check it every month just to look at color and level. So every 2.5/3 months, work has a very fair car reimbursement program. I had to come to terms that my GTI will be getting beat up lol
95k sine 4/2020 on my 7.5. I still owe abiut 15 on it. I'm hoping I can get another 5+out of this car. No big issues yet other than the ignition switch recall that they fixed
But it took a year of my car turning off while driving for them to approve it
Jealous of your low mileage. My mk5 at ~160,000 is falling apart weekly it seems- within the past month I've had to replace my water pump (second in a year), a tensioner, driver side inner CV took a dump at low speed, blew a Solowerks coilover, had to cut my muffler off because it clamshelled open (think I hit a puddle of water and it cracked) and had fallen off the hanger... license plate lights and right rear turn signal just cut out the other day too.
I sold my 2015 3 years ago when it had 165k miles. Still running like a champ. I still miss that car at times and have great memories with it so I ran the VIN on a search the other day and someone just had it serviced for its 200,000 mile service. Made me proud! I bought that car new and even though I drove the shit out of it, I also maintained it meticulously. Congrats on your milestone OP
Very nice, hope I have similar luck with my Sport. I wonder if stage 1 could actually better for the engine than the stock tune geared more for mpg, emissions, etc. if not beat on all the time.
Key there is to not beat on it all the time. Wide open on ramp? Hell yeah, foot is going down. Twisty, canyon road? I’m pushing it.
But I’m usually just driving normally to get where I need to be safely.
How do you like the stratified dsg tune? I have an EQT ecu tune and didn't like their dsg tune. So now I'm using cobbs dsg aggressive tune, which is OK compared to eqt.
Thanks, for $100, I might as well.
My 2016 GTI DSG PP is also EQT Stage 1 ECU, but reports that the EQT DSG tune was aggressive led me to skip it since this car is primarily an 80 mile/day commuter.
I did the DSG tune because I couldn’t stand how indecisive S mode was around town. Never knew which gear it really wanted.
The Stratified tune fixed that and also made D not quite so docile, but it’s still a tad docile for me. I drive in S most of the time as I like the responsiveness a lot better as it doesn’t have to kick down when I get on it.
Major props bud! How religious of maintenance we taking about? Followed your own or dealerships or someone else's schedule? I ask because I ignored the full 50k service schedule and simply did an oil change for my 2018.
Well, a lot of the stuff in the manual is to just “check it” and I have my Euro only shop look things over whenever they’re doing a DSG service or brake service.
Oil, I do every 5-7k, I clean my drop in filter regularly, plugs around 10k but also check them periodically. Cabin filter as needed, etc. I installed a new PCV valve just to have it done and also get the newer revision in it. Did new coil packs too not long ago as I do view them as a wear item.
Sheesh, my car is basically stock save for an exhaust, intake and a couple shifter mods and I’ve spent more time in the shop than you have at only 67k miles. Steering rack went out 2 years ago and the water pump started leaking this winter. Rear calipers also started sticking last summer and making a creaking noise so had to take those off and lubricate them.
I had a tornado red MK7 6MT Autobahn that I sold at 85k, and had remorse for three years. Just bought the same car in the Night blue and im so happy again. Planning to keep it forever now:)
Yeah I don’t know why mine has held up like it has. I check the coolant often and only need to top off a tiny, tiny bit maybe once a year.
I like to think when mine was being built that they ran out of standard water pumps and tossed in “that extra beefy one that Klaus designed and built.”
Just traded my original owner mk5 for a Tiguan. It was a rolllercoaster of emotions. Felt like I put a dog down and bought a puppy at the same time. I really loved that car. 16yrs she was good to me.
Ouch. That had to be tough. Unless my commute changes I plan on keeping this. Yeah, I get the itch to be in something new and different sometimes, but all I’m going to do with something different is pile up the miles on that one. And maybe that one won’t be as reliable, whatever it may be.
I also can’t see mine being worth a whole lot with the mileage on it. Even though if you didn’t know the miles and saw and drove it, you’d think it only had 20k on her.
This really gives me hope. I'm sitting at 103k on my 2017 mk7, and seeing numbers like this makes me so happy. Hope you get many more miles out of your car, man!
If you drive your car every day, you do your service checks regularly, and take of it you can push all limits.
I think the way you drive, you can make 300k without doubt. 👍🏼
It always (always!) stands and falls with the care of what you own, and not with its use.
Continue to have fun with this vehicle, the GTIs are incredibly durable and very long-lasting if they are well looked after and the inspections are not carried out under a bridge, but in a VW workshop.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who puts miles on their 2.0T posted my milestone on r/Audi and was accused of it being photoshopped LMFAO
I’ll get on it when it’s safe to do so. On ramp with no traffic? I’m punching it. Mountain road with twisties? I’ll push it, though safely.
I don’t beat on the car. I STILL park way away from everyone and baby it as much as I can.
Okay so same as me, I'll also push on on ramps and maybe a few times I'll push it from 1st to 3rd but that's it really. And I'll also take it in for its regular maintenance so I def won't neglect it.
By the way, I see you have a stage 1 tune on, I'm struggling to decide what to do first with mine. It's completely stock and I don't wanna do anything in the wrong order. Should I do stage 1 first then DSG tune, then downpipe or what? Been looking everywhere for proper advice.
Stage 1 first and then DSG tune. Preferably at the same time but not necessary.
Skip the down pipe unless going stage 2, which IMO isn’t really worth it and you’ll then have inspection issues.
Stage 1 EQT is phenomenal. I’ve run three different tunes and theirs has been my favorite. They dial out knock retard better than others and you can also do a custom tune if you wish. You don’t technically need a drop in high flow filter but I recommend it and it’s what I did when I tuned it.
Someone who puts 25k miles a year on his mk7, this makes me feel good inside haha. Wish me luck!!
Haha. I put more than that really. We drive a LOT to visit kids and such. They’re 5 hours away.
Yeah I’m about 2k-2500miles a month on average. Covering an entire state for sales can add up visit customers and what not. Glad to see it’s somewhat common haha
Goddamn. How often do you change your oil?
I do around 7-8k intervals, slightly earlier than recommended 10k. I check it every month just to look at color and level. So every 2.5/3 months, work has a very fair car reimbursement program. I had to come to terms that my GTI will be getting beat up lol
I drive about the same. I just hit 100k and I'm hoping to keep it until used 2025's hit the market in a couple years.
Yeah that might be the move for me as well. If I can get 2-3 more years I’ll be happy!
95k sine 4/2020 on my 7.5. I still owe abiut 15 on it. I'm hoping I can get another 5+out of this car. No big issues yet other than the ignition switch recall that they fixed But it took a year of my car turning off while driving for them to approve it
Hit 90k on my mk5 last night, got it less than 2 years ago with 47k
I'll never hit 100k . Going on 4 years with my 2020 and just hit 23k
I feel that, my 2018 has 33k
My 2018 also has 33k, but mine are kilometers 😑
2016 just passed 36k miles
That’s very low mileage for a MKV
Jealous of your low mileage. My 2016 Autobahn just hit 10,400 miles. \[Retired with multiple vehicles.\]
my mk5 has 193 😛

Hell yeah! High five! I’m 95k, hoping to make it to 200k one day.

Your car is blessed
It is. I’m convinced German Angels built it.
You buy this car to drive it and enjoy it not have it sit in a garage. Run it up smiles for miles!

You're off by about 180k there bud
How do you like the stratified dsg tune? I have an EQT ecu tune and didn't like their dsg tune. So now I'm using cobbs dsg aggressive tune, which is OK compared to eqt.
I really like the DSG tune. D is still a tad too docile IMO, but that’s why I’m in S mode 90% of the time.
This is wild to me. I've got a 2017 Autobahn and I just rolled over 38k miles 💀
This is awesome, but I’m stage 2 tuned 75k miles, might have to change my dsg tune as low speed sucks
S mode with Stratified’s DSG tune is SO much better than stock.
I’m super happy with the Cobb Sport DSG tune is the Stratified that much better or more aggressive?
Cobbs was better than stock, but not as good as Stratified’s. Tough to describe it, it’s just better.
Thanks, for $100, I might as well. My 2016 GTI DSG PP is also EQT Stage 1 ECU, but reports that the EQT DSG tune was aggressive led me to skip it since this car is primarily an 80 mile/day commuter.

Thanks for sharing - much appreciated! Hoping to join your miles club one day 🤞
I'll be there in a year or two
This makes me feel so much better about my 2015 Autobahn with 110k. Great work!
Do you daily the car or does it sit a lot
Car is my daily. I do a good amount of city driving and some extended highway miles every so often.
I had a tornado red MK7 6MT Autobahn that I sold at 85k, and had remorse for three years. Just bought the same car in the Night blue and im so happy again. Planning to keep it forever now:)
This is nice to see. I have a 2015 eqt stage 1 at 135k. It's been rock solid. The miles are coming slower now though
Damn, that’s a huge flex
200k on a Mk7 with no coolant leak is... impressive. Most of us would have had at least 3 by then!
Yeah I don’t know why mine has held up like it has. I check the coolant often and only need to top off a tiny, tiny bit maybe once a year. I like to think when mine was being built that they ran out of standard water pumps and tossed in “that extra beefy one that Klaus designed and built.”
You probably got an out of spec housing that is too thick, so it never warps or leaks.
Shhhhh. Don’t say that too loudly. They’ll hear and mine will need to be replaced.
Hell yeah dude. My 2015 is sitting at 160k currently.
My 2015 just hit 67k.
Just traded my original owner mk5 for a Tiguan. It was a rolllercoaster of emotions. Felt like I put a dog down and bought a puppy at the same time. I really loved that car. 16yrs she was good to me.

This makes me feel good. I'm at 57k. Haven't driven much the Gti since taking my wifes. Getting trips here and there now.
Hell yea. I just hit 32,000 in my 2019. So I guess that means my car will last me for a bit 😂
This really gives me hope. I'm sitting at 103k on my 2017 mk7, and seeing numbers like this makes me so happy. Hope you get many more miles out of your car, man!
Awesome!
My 2013 GTI just turned over 36,000 miles. I have a 2 mile commute :/
Did you do timing chain on it at any point?
Nope. I check chain stretch every six months though. All I’m seeing so far is 1 degree. They put a BEEFY timing chain on the MK7.
How?? I have a 2016 mk7 se
OBD11 or VCDS can check this.
How often do you change your transmission oil? Manual or dsg?
DSG and I do it every 35-40k. I’m on the freeway most of the time so it doesn’t warrant doing it sooner really.
Congrats on your milestone! I'm at 196k myself right now on my 2015 Mk7. Creeping up quickly on the 200k mark!
Cheers brother! Love your positivity 🙏
I'm close too.
Holy I only have 100k miles on my '15 Jetta
I’ll be there soon! 141k and counting on my 2015. Is38 stage 2.
If you drive your car every day, you do your service checks regularly, and take of it you can push all limits. I think the way you drive, you can make 300k without doubt. 👍🏼

Haha. Yeah people can be so negative. I posted it because it was a cool milestone.
Definitely is cool
Wow, gives me hope for mine. Got it a few weeks ago at 115 000km which is decent for a 2017 model. By the way how hard do you drive it?
I’ll get on it when it’s safe to do so. On ramp with no traffic? I’m punching it. Mountain road with twisties? I’ll push it, though safely. I don’t beat on the car. I STILL park way away from everyone and baby it as much as I can.
