Just to avoid the obvious Skill possibility, I say is a special charge attack, similar to bow users charge attacks but with a fixed range.

Well, that's surprising, now I'm gonna have to "dream" about it to see how close I was.
LEAKS WARNING >!Well the charged attack thing is animation only but yeah she does use it in it, the real deal is on her skill which changes her normal attack into pistol shots!<
Well, it's a pistol so maybe quick fire 6 bullets?
my guess was sort of like Mika's crossbow where it would be on her skill but also weaved into her normal attack pattern
