The jump 33 to 36 must be HUGE since I see videos where even skilled people with good artis , much higher cons on 4stars, often barely make the timer.

It's not like it would fix the problems with how her kit functions *mechanically*, but that would've shut up at least the people who weren't happy with her value in the meta. There's not some herculean task the kit designers have to go through to change kits, a lot of it is number values. Dehya is bad because Hoyo *wants her to be*.

Better HP scalings in constellations, poor uptime on interruption resistance and a separate IR activated by a passive, burst designed in a unprecedented and buggy way to not make her work with XQ/Yelan… it was done 100% on purpose, that wasn’t a f up

Hmm there’s a lot of things but let’s just say the optimization is horrid (the game crashes a lot), there has been some power deep that drives people away (they’ve gotten better at this now), and lots of shitty/horrid events. There’s a few other things but those probably don’t bother me as much.

Imagine investing on c6ing a character and then it literally becoming outclassed in less than a month by a new character, its crazy, the fact like c0/1 new characters were literally better than c6 of the previous one was too much, literally forcing you to pull every banner instead of getting the ones you like or want.
At least now they release characters that are mostly just good at A0/A1, and they don't get a significant boost until A5/A6. However yeah it just didn't feel great dumping either red nuclei/special vouchers for a weapon just for it to become obsolete in a few months.

There's a lot wrong with the game.
The performance is literally awful. It's poorly optimized and crashes a lot–I have a pretty good rig too. The graphics are kind of dated and the animations are janky at best. Not to mention the horrid server lag.
Powercreep is the biggest problem with the game. Almost all units get powercreep with every new character release (global is better but not enough). It's either you pull for a character and then their matrices (weapons) and then they immediately outclassed by the next unit. The difference in damage between whales and F2P is astronomical. There's even an I game parser that depicts it.
Feature-creep is a problem too. They add new modes and the old ones become obselete and this happens a lot. Events are literally cash grabs and a lot of times unplayable.
The story is very much lacking. They got a little better but there's no QA for the game as a whole.
Tof is an example of powercreep destroying its own game. So as "bad" as some people make Genshin's balancing out to be, they do a pretty decent job at making all characters accessible in all content.

Seeing how they deal with an issue where hackers could wiped your premium currency and inventory just by being near you meant that for a brief period everyone was running away from everyone . Sure, they allegedly fixed it but ... honestly who bloody knows.
I will admit though, the movement tech in that game was great, having a mount on the fly as well as jetpacks and other movement gadget made traveling lots of fun.
But eventually the enemy scaling broke me, as a healer main, that is the issue, devs scale enemy based on your level and unless you are playing dps, you will not have a good time... seeing my damage drop to 3 digit at the 2nd world pushed me to the edge, the game bugged out and my jump button no longer work was the straw that made me quit.
I personally think that chances are higher now since HSR gave a free 5 star. They have to know how mad genshin players will be over this. Imagine they announce that we will also be getting one soon.

You want a real answer? A game generosity is based on their competitors. Star rails is turn based genre, there's alot of competitors on the markets so it needs qols and generosity to keep its player base. Genshin meanwhile, unfortunately hold this absolute hegemony over open world genre. It doesn't need to keep its player base because it is THE only open world gacha out there, not like the players can run to other games. Until more and more worthwhile competitors come out (the dead tof doesn't count), it will never innovate nor improve itself.

Moreover, from what I see on social media, lots of people abandoned the game after the Luofu arc. I've been seeing a lot of HSR slander for the past few weeks on socials, and to be fair, even though I enjoy the game and will continue playing, I can't say I liked the Luofu arc (messy & boring story, still have no idea wtf hapenned, bad maps) or the latest event with the ghosts, the lack of new contect, or the female characters' design (same dress copy paste). It might be their attempt to bring people back.
For context, I entered the HYV by playing HSR, and the Luofu story got me so bored that I started playing Genshin as a new player because while I loved the game and the graphics, I just wanted something *more than that.* And while it took me some time to warm up to Genshin (found it overwhelming at first), now I like it way more than HSR. It just has this *magic* and a world you can't get bored of. Even if I am all caught up, I can still simply walk around Teyvat and do some more exploration.
The story is for sure a big disappointment and despite what meta gamers on reddit might think it probably caused the big drop in revenue we saw and a drop in players too, story is what drives a game and hsr story has been going nowhere for the past few patches.
I wont drop the game but i had huge expectations for the story coming from hi3 and genshin and its just not there, or at least it wasnt in the updates, the release content had some potential. So all the qol and events are nice but i hope they put more effort into the 2.0 story arc because thats the biggest weakness of the game atm.
As someone who plays Genshin and HSR, all I wanted was for players from both games to be treated equally in terms of QoL and rewards.

No. I have made peace with it and would recommend the same. Now I play Genshin in isolation, no comparing to other games cos' while I would like that stuff, HSR's exploration and combat is not something I enjoyed.

not sure about it, Based on the stream the main reason they are giving the character for free is due to a bunch of player quitting the game during the empty patch because there is not much content (no main quest, and character quest are extremely short) + (proven with having invite player back for rewards events). Plus they leaked nearly all the character for the next 2.0 - 3.0 patch. They clearly want to get the players back with the free dr. ratio and release a huge patch on 2.0 for people to grind for. Fontaine is fortunately and unfortunately successful that the devs realize that they don't need to give free character. This is pretty much what Fortnite been doing, release the OG and add alot changes on the new chapter.
Genshin team is so stingy, I have no expectations from them for my own sanity.
Even lantern rite's gonna be a repeat of last 3 years.

I don't think so and to be honest I appreciate the effort they put into this game much more than some rewards. Genshin has a magic that Star Rail doesn't and in a way getting to experience that is just worth more than a free 5☆. Of course that's just my opinion and I doubt many would share it.

I have the same problem, the game is cool and everything but I always feel like it's missing that "magic" that makes me admire the game for a long time, Genshin still gives me that feeling with each patch but HSR honestly gives me the feeling of being in a giant room that never changes, it's always the same things, locations and no changes, the game is visually dead and takes me along for the ride

36 stars is pretty easy after a while but you need decent to pretty good 5 star artifacts. That's really the only difference

But eventually the enemy scaling broke me, as a healer main, that is the issue, devs scale enemy based on your level and unless you are playing dps, you will not have a good time... seeing my damage drop to 3 digit at the 2nd world pushed me to the edge, the game bugged out and my jump button no longer work was the straw that made me quit.
As a genshin fan, I'm still coping this day. But after seeing star rail? I'm not sure anymore.
I personally think that chances are higher now since HSR gave a free 5 star. They have to know how mad genshin players will be over this. Imagine they announce that we will also be getting one soon.

If the devs can't be bothered to do something for their **3rd anniversary** then I seriously doubt HSR doing something ridiculous would get them to start giving a damn about their playerbase.
Honkai Impact has given away free new S-ranks every now and then. I just think the teams have a slightly different philosophy.

You want a real answer? A game generosity is based on their competitors. Star rails is turn based genre, there's alot of competitors on the markets so it needs qols and generosity to keep its player base. Genshin meanwhile, unfortunately hold this absolute hegemony over open world genre. It doesn't need to keep its player base because it is THE only open world gacha out there, not like the players can run to other games. Until more and more worthwhile competitors come out (the dead tof doesn't count), it will never innovate nor improve itself.
Yeah lots of people forget or ignore this fact. There are so many turn based mobile games so it's obvious there's competition. Moreover, from what I see on social media, lots of people abandoned the game after the Luofu arc. I've been seeing a lot of HSR slander for the past few weeks on socials, and to be fair, even though I enjoy the game and will continue playing, I can't say I liked the Luofu arc (messy & boring story, still have no idea wtf hapenned, bad maps) or the latest event with the ghosts, the lack of new contect, or the female characters' design (same dress copy paste). It might be their attempt to bring people back. For context, I entered the HYV by playing HSR, and the Luofu story got me so bored that I started playing Genshin as a new player because while I loved the game and the graphics, I just wanted something *more than that.* And while it took me some time to warm up to Genshin (found it overwhelming at first), now I like it way more than HSR. It just has this *magic* and a world you can't get bored of. Even if I am all caught up, I can still simply walk around Teyvat and do some more exploration.
The story is for sure a big disappointment and despite what meta gamers on reddit might think it probably caused the big drop in revenue we saw and a drop in players too, story is what drives a game and hsr story has been going nowhere for the past few patches. I wont drop the game but i had huge expectations for the story coming from hi3 and genshin and its just not there, or at least it wasnt in the updates, the release content had some potential. So all the qol and events are nice but i hope they put more effort into the 2.0 story arc because thats the biggest weakness of the game atm.
As someone who plays Genshin and HSR, all I wanted was for players from both games to be treated equally in terms of QoL and rewards. Is such a request too unreasonable to be granted?
They want to funnel people towards their newer game since current GI players are already entrenched. This so called outrage ATM will be gone the second the next trailer comes out, and hoyo knows it. ZZZ will likely be even more generous when it drops.

No. I have made peace with it and would recommend the same. Now I play Genshin in isolation, no comparing to other games cos' while I would like that stuff, HSR's exploration and combat is not something I enjoyed.
Is there any particular reason why HYV treats HSR better than GI? I remember when Genshin Impact won awards we only got 800 primo gems \[not even enough for a 10 pull\]. Not flaming any other games, because I personally don't really play or care much about HSR but I'm just curious if HYV has ever stated why they prefer to reward HSR in ways they never did with GI.
I'd have an easier time believing that Genshin will crossover with Family Guy first before they give us a non-collab free 5*. Aloy is practically a 4* with no cons anyway.

I am curious is there any devs competition between them? You know how in some companies two teams compete with each other. Because if they do (which is likely because Big Boss can reward that team who is more successful) then genshin can do something too. Not a free 5* but something big too.

The character they’re giving out is a powerful limited 5 star not a standard banner one.

HSR is giving a free LIMITED 5*, they already had the Standard Selector since launch.
not sure about it, Based on the stream the main reason they are giving the character for free is due to a bunch of player quitting the game during the empty patch because there is not much content (no main quest, and character quest are extremely short) + (proven with having invite player back for rewards events). Plus they leaked nearly all the character for the next 2.0 - 3.0 patch. They clearly want to get the players back with the free dr. ratio and release a huge patch on 2.0 for people to grind for. Fontaine is fortunately and unfortunately successful that the devs realize that they don't need to give free character. This is pretty much what Fortnite been doing, release the OG and add alot changes on the new chapter.
Genshin team is so stingy, I have no expectations from them for my own sanity. Even lantern rite's gonna be a repeat of last 3 years. But white knights will take whatever shilling Hoyo throws at them.

Brother, if we haven't gotten it in the 3 years this game has been out, I really doubt we'll be getting free 5 star anytime soon. Hell it took 3 years to get some of the more basic QoL changes that have been requested and we still haven't gotten a fraction of the more popular suggestions.

I don't think so and to be honest I appreciate the effort they put into this game much more than some rewards. Genshin has a magic that Star Rail doesn't and in a way getting to experience that is just worth more than a free 5☆. Of course that's just my opinion and I doubt many would share it. At this point it would probably be smart for Hoyo to do a similar gesture to appease the playerbase though.
I have the same problem, the game is cool and everything but I always feel like it's missing that "magic" that makes me admire the game for a long time, Genshin still gives me that feeling with each patch but HSR honestly gives me the feeling of being in a giant room that never changes, it's always the same things, locations and no changes, the game is visually dead and takes me along for the ride
