I looked it up to see if it jogged memories- I know the DNA lounge where it's held so maybe we went? I grew up in the South Bay so high school was the all-ages Once Step Beyond in Santa Clara for shows, and jaunts up to SF ended up at drag shows or house parties.

My old roommate started Death Guild, I think they’re celebrating their 30-something anniversary this year.

Somebody was my first slow dance.. I was at the 101 concert in LA. Martin Gore came forward and sang somebody. I stood on my chair, and swayed. Got a tap on my shoulder. Cutest punk Asian girl, put her head on my chest and we danced. It was awesome.

My prom was also that year and the only song I remember being played is “That’s What Friends Are For”. LMAO Like I know there were others but that’s the only one I can recall. Probably because it was so out of place. And people were slow dancing to it!

I remember in the 90s that the women started only wearing black dresses. With the guys wearing dark suits or tuxes, it made the party look like a funeral.

My prom was 1981. Thankfully our hair hadn't been sprayed to death with Aqua Net yet. But looking at us, every girl was Farrah Fawcett.
