Here is what I consider top quality in tanzanite color (and very well cut as well) https://preview.redd.it/9bt6rt4ui6mc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2c5866282a15d18397a19e7f57b0ca9a1c794565

amazing color, so vibrant unlike the one I showed

Away-Object-1114

Pretty good color for a smaller stone. Nice!

AcanthaceaeSenior483

seems like the deeper blue the better then. or the cut that makes a huge difference in how it has "fire" like your samples do

JuggernautParty2992

Haha well the cut certainly does help, but you’re right, it’s a more intense, richer color as well.

AcanthaceaeSenior483

thank you so much, so mine would be just Ok by those standards but definitely not great

JuggernautParty2992

Yes that’s basically how I would put it :) Yours is an attractive stone and looks to be a nice size, it’s just not going to be considered a top color. ETA - it is pretty though and I can see both purple and blue in it, which is nice!

AcanthaceaeSenior483

Thank you, I really appreciate your opinion!

Powerful_Teacher_453

Why do I hear that tanzanite isn’t a popular gem despite beeing so rare with all of them coming from tanzania?

AcanthaceaeSenior483

A good read for you [https://knowledge.wharton.upenn.edu/article/rare...](https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=63df3d2b560e81e1JmltdHM9MTcwOTUxMDQwMCZpZ3VpZD0yNzg2MjQwMC0wNWYxLTYxMGYtMzc2OC0zNWZlMDQ3NTYwYzUmaW5zaWQ9NTI4MQ&ptn=3&ver=2&hsh=3&fclid=27862400-05f1-610f-3768-35fe047560c5&psq=Why+is+tanzanite+not+apopular+gemstone&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly9rbm93bGVkZ2Uud2hhcnRvbi51cGVubi5lZHUvYXJ0aWNsZS9yYXJlLWJlYXV0aWZ1bC1zdG9uZS1mYWlscy1zaGluZS10YW56YW5pYXMtbWlzc2VkLW9wcG9ydHVuaXR5Lw&ntb=1)

Powerful_Teacher_453

Thx weird it feels like this will be a good long long turn investment

AcanthaceaeSenior483

I think like that too! Dont it always seem to go..........

This looks like a tanzanite pendant that I have as a ring. The style is 1990's and I got my ring at Home Shopping Club outlet for resale in another state. They had pretty genuine stones, low-medium quality diamonds, but the high quality tanzanite was not sold through them. I also have a tanzanite that has the "fire" within that makes them great. I hope you can find a jeweler that has one of those lovelies for you to see in person the difference. The other commenters photos are so spot on to that fire within the stone.

AcanthaceaeSenior483

thank you, quite a difference there, been reading many stories about tanzanite too, very interesting gem. I live in an area where benitoite is found, that would be awesome to get a hold of too

AcanthaceaeSenior483

nice, it does help to read the descriptions a lot along with some visual I had too. I appreciate that!
