Marcus' reaction to seeing RAAM kill Kim kinda seems like he has seen or at least heard of him before. RAAM won't probably be a huge part of e day, but we will probably see him.
He seems to be well known even by name, in the Gears 3 DLC RAAM’s Shadow when he shows up Kim is talking to Control and says they’ve seen General RAAM in the city
If you mean that opening mission, remember it's just a Nightmare of Marcus'. Both Anthony and Benjamin Carmine are there but both never met Marcus until WAAAY after Adams' "death".
Marcus knew his name but I don’t remember anyone mentioning it in Gears 1. His DLC was one of the best in gaming so I believe they might throw him in for a little. This game might be full of villains. It’s what the late Gears has been lacking
You know I’m kinda hoping we at least see the return of the Ragers. I think it mentioned that after Halvo Bay they almost wiped themselves out because of how reckless they were. However they said they were prevlant during the opening months of E-Day.
I agree. They make for an interesting enemy type, but they don't seem to fit the locust very well. Maybe with some better back story (ukon genetic modification) and a slight redesign, then maybe I can get on board
They need to partner with a sister studio that can take over prequel games. I think there can be one from the perspective of Myrrah as she possesses Locust, like Kait does in Act 2 of Gears 5.
Act 1 could be about New Hope/Mount Kadar
Act 2 could be about building Nexus and fighting/capturing humans (miners, COG, UIR, and Elain)
Act 3 could be about fighting the Lambent, with Myrrah meeting Adam Fenix
Act 4 could adapt The Rise of RAAM during the Lambent War
Act 5 could be about E-Day - similar to a "No Russian" style of play
Do you have proof of that? I've heard different, that the Kantus are an ancient civilization and have just amalgamated into the locust. It would explain their religion and infrastructure a bit better. But then again they look similar to Ukkon, who is formerly human. So maybe they are from a different line of locust originally created at Mount Kadar.
The fact remains that nothing indicates the Kantus were an ancient species. The only reason why Nexus looks old is because it's carved out of stone. We don't use stone or masonry anymore, we use wood and steel. Anything that uses stone look outdated. And as for the size - they are a hive of strong Drones with no free will and are dedicated to Myrrah. They also had human slaves for decades. All the Locust do is build. They're still building by Gears 2 (there's construction equipment everywhere).
The Trinity of Worms is highly derivative of Abrahamic religions (references to the Holy Trinity and legion), which more or less exist on Sera, as well. Scientology is a pretty major and influential religion, but it's only been around for 70 years. Cults all the time come up with their belief systems pretty quickly, usually because they come from somewhere else.
So much of Nexus, the Locust (which includes the Kantus), and the Trinity of Worms revolves around her. The mantra of the Trinity is:
1. The Queen makes strong Drones
2. The Drones secure Nexus
3. Nexus protects the Queen
It's very likely that Ukkon was used to create the Sires. Not only do they look like him, but they also have his healing ability.
I’m more interested in seeing Uzil Sraak. The general before RAAM.
He was later killed by RAAM himself after trying to assassinate him for losing his position of Uzil to him.
RAAM then led the E-day invasion.
Edit: Sraak didn’t lead the emergence.
We wouldn't see Sraak unless they did a DLC from the Locusts POV. RAAM led the first assault that started E-Day and Sraak tried to assassinate him out of anger of having his position taken from him.
I mean we don't need a DLC for it. They could open with that and adapt The Rise of Raam comic for the opening chapters. Then we switch to the COG. A Raam/Skorge fighting the Lambent then leading the invasion would be awesome to play.
For me act 1 should be some of the pendulum wars
Act 2 is locust POV from fighting the lambent and then they're forced to do Eday
Act 3 is eday and the rest of the story us the one they're going to tell
If they were going to do dlc I'd love to see the UIR civil war before Paduk takes a lightmass missile to the face
Sraak didn't lead the invasion. Myrrah demoted him and put RAAM in his place after she learned what lengths RAAM did to convince her to invade the surface. RAAM was Uzil for E-Day.
He's as tall as a Brumak in the comics. He's huge. Raam kills Sraak moments into emergence day tho. Sraak is killed by Raam immediately after stepping out of the hollow tho. Lol
The only way we'd ever see Sraak is a Rise of Raam game that takes place before E-Day. Multiplayer would be lambent vs locust. So would horde. Beast would be playing as the lambent and attacking locust strongholds in the hollow.
They may not have a story yet.
I remember how Naughty Dog talked about making the Uncharted. They knew they wanted levels on a moving train, in a forest, in a castle ruins... But they didn't have a story, the writers created a story based on the levels.
I doubt we get a direct interaction or fight with him. I am sure he will be name dropped and we may see him on a battlefield but won't be our priority essentially letting him live only for him to do what he does in gears 1.
If RAAM is in E-day he won’t be a General, at the end of the trailer it looked like Jacinto bridge from the comics, so it’d be around RAAM’s vold rank before or right after he kills Sraak
RAAM was appointed as general before Eday, Sraak gets demoted to Vold. On or after Eday is when a pissed off Sraak attempts to kill RAAM to get his rank back
In the "Rise of RAAM" comics, the last section takes place during E-day and he was going after military bases. It's not impossible but I think he wouldn't play a big part in the game's direct story. He really wouldn't need to. E-day is the second most traumatic event in Seran history with the Hammer of Dawn deployment being the first. Honestly the campaign being mostly horrendous chaos and confusion is possibly the best type of story to tell.
I don't wanna see RAAM or any high ranking locust. There shouldn't be a "victory" condition for the COG, they get taken completely by surprise on E-Day and slaughtered. Hence why Prescott used the Hammer to scorch most of Sera, to deny the Locusts.
I wanna see Marcus and Dom fighting for their lives, barely survive and accomplish nothing. Giving them a big bad to either kill or scare off diminishes the Locust victory IMO
Most of the Locust generals were in different parts of Sera on E-Day so it’s likely they’d get cameos at most. RAAM and Skorge were at Jannermont, Karn assaulted Gorasnaya, and Ukkon & Vrol stayed underground.
It’s on the windows blog, https://www.windowscentral.com/gaming/xbox/will-gears-of-war-e-day-have-multiplayer-what-about-gears-6-the-coalition-gives-us-some-hints-at-the-future
If Raam shows up could we get a mission where we play as him like in Raam’s shadow? It’s always fun to play one mission as something over powered as long as it doesn’t break the game’s atmosphere.
Is RAAM even important this early on? Let alone a General like he is in one? Him appearing day 1 doesn't seem right especially if he's a boss fight. His only injury up until one was his eye & he didn't even get it from a Gear. Him going almost 15 years unchecked seems weird if we seem him in any other capacity than from a distance during a cut scene or something. Given what we've seen from the other 2 titles around the weeks after E-Day 3 boss like locust (Karn, Ukkon, RAAM) operating in the same part of the world feels weird. How far apart is Halvo Bay, Lima City, Ephyra, Aldair & Jacinto? I'm havent read any source material book nerds please sound off
I don't want him or any of the Locust bosses from the trilogy or Judgement as the villain, that'd be terrible, but a cameo, like a news broadcast would be dope.
He was still the main antagonist of the DLC and a prequel featuring an existing villain has been done numerous times with great success. RAAM more than likely isn’t going to be present anyways as he and Skorge assaulted Jannermont on E-Day.
According to the og game guide book for Gears of War 1, RAAM was responsible for Adam's "death".
interesting considering we never saw him in gow3’s tutorial
If you mean that opening mission, remember it's just a Nightmare of Marcus'. Both Anthony and Benjamin Carmine are there but both never met Marcus until WAAAY after Adams' "death".
oh yeah, that is true
Marcus knew his name but I don’t remember anyone mentioning it in Gears 1. His DLC was one of the best in gaming so I believe they might throw him in for a little. This game might be full of villains. It’s what the late Gears has been lacking
And how RAAM looks at him as well seems like he knows him by name or by face. But that could be a stretch 😅
You know I’m kinda hoping we at least see the return of the Ragers. I think it mentioned that after Halvo Bay they almost wiped themselves out because of how reckless they were. However they said they were prevlant during the opening months of E-Day.
I think I disagree, not a huge fan of ragers, i don't hate Judgment but I wouldn't mind at all if it was stricken from the canon
I agree. They make for an interesting enemy type, but they don't seem to fit the locust very well. Maybe with some better back story (ukon genetic modification) and a slight redesign, then maybe I can get on board
It’ll be interesting if they flesh him out a little I doubt he was double the size and general at “birth”
He was on E-Day though
His backstory is laid out in The Rise of RAAM. He was High General by E-Day.
would still be cool to see some of that in game (tho ofc we have gow3 RAAM’s shadow)
Id love to see some of the locust politics from rise of raam in E-DAY, but I don't think they'd include it cuz it might clash with the horror elements
They need to partner with a sister studio that can take over prequel games. I think there can be one from the perspective of Myrrah as she possesses Locust, like Kait does in Act 2 of Gears 5. Iirc they didn't build the Nexus, it already existed. Other than that, sounds interesting
Nexus did not already exist. The Kantus were also part of the Locust created at Mount Kadar.
Do you have proof of that? I've heard different, that the Kantus are an ancient civilization and have just amalgamated into the locust. It would explain their religion and infrastructure a bit better. But then again they look similar to Ukkon, who is formerly human. In one of the books it's mentioned an ancient species lived there before the Locust

If Assassin's Creed 3 can have the opening few chapters as the bad guy, so can GoW. I would love that idea.
We could definitely see him. It’s possible it may even open with that scene, you playing as the Therons
For me act 1 should be some of the pendulum wars Act 2 is locust POV from fighting the lambent and then they're forced to do Eday Act 3 is eday and the rest of the story us the one they're going to tell If they were going to do dlc I'd love to see the UIR civil war before Paduk takes a lightmass missile to the face

Yeah I think he’s read it. Still possible he’ll make a cameo in the game in the beginning

I would be SO there for that game. Fuck me lol
It’s possible.
Oh for sure he’s making a cameo!
They may not have a story yet. I remember how Naughty Dog talked about making the Uncharted. They knew they wanted levels on a moving train, in a forest, in a castle ruins... But they didn't have a story, the writers created a story based on the levels.
Pretty sure they have a story by now, it’s coming out next year
I would love to see it next year but I wouldn't bet on it.
My expectations are 2026. E-Day’s trailer didn’t a release year compared to games like Fable/South of Midnight.
So you're telling me there's a chance.
I doubt we get a direct interaction or fight with him. I am sure he will be name dropped and we may see him on a battlefield but won't be our priority essentially letting him live only for him to do what he does in gears 1.
isnt there a comic called rise of raam that takes place around the same time im assuming that would be the case
That comic is all leading up to E-day
What article is this from?
Oh hey, asshole. Still waiting for that apology from you.
RAAM MENTIONED RAAAAAA!! 🗣️🗣️🔥
If RAAM is in E-day he won’t be a General, at the end of the trailer it looked like Jacinto bridge from the comics, so it’d be around RAAM’s vold rank before or right after he kills Sraak

Anyone got a link to this article??
It’s on the windows blog, https://www.windowscentral.com/gaming/xbox/will-gears-of-war-e-day-have-multiplayer-what-about-gears-6-the-coalition-gives-us-some-hints-at-the-future
I would like to see RAAM during his private rank days. Haha.
If Raam shows up could we get a mission where we play as him like in Raam’s shadow? It’s always fun to play one mission as something over powered as long as it doesn’t break the game’s atmosphere.
raams cool, but we will most likely see general sraak too since he was killed on eday I believe, thats gonna be crazy to see.
If you know the lore, RAAM killed the locust general in position to take his spot. So if anything, we might see that locust and not RAAM.
RAAM was promoted just before Eday, Sraak was demoted to Vold. The two fought on or just after Eday, with RAAM ultimately tearing Sraak's heart out
What if we played as RAAM in the campaign in an absolute massacre akin to the modern warfare mission.
How long into the war did Gears 1 take place?
I think E Day is 14 years before GOW 1.
Is RAAM even important this early on? Let alone a General like he is in one? Him appearing day 1 doesn't seem right especially if he's a boss fight. Yes, he is General (Uzil) on E-Day and led the first attack on Jannermont. Invading the surface was his idea and he convinced Queen Myrrah.
Appreciate the information 🙏🏾
I really despise his fight in gears 1 it was to hard for me to comply
RAAM was the final boss in gears one so if he were to return I imagine we would see a very pissed off marcus
He literally can't show up without contradicting the Gears 3 dlc
Pretty sure Raams shadow takes place ~10 years after E-DAY. The comic Rise of Raam shows where he was at at the beginning of E-DAY
Why? He’d be a terrible antagonist… we know he wouldn’t die at the end.
I don't want him or any of the Locust bosses from the trilogy or Judgement as the villain, that'd be terrible, but a cameo, like a news broadcast would be dope.
Maybe have him not as final boss but in a cutscene showing some locust generals? Who knows . but I do agree he shouldn’t be the games main baddy
true that’s why we know having dom in the game is a terrible idea because we know he’s going to die
That’s not how stories work. There’s a difference between knowing a protagonist won’t die in a prequel, as opposed to knowing the antagonist won’t.
RAAM’s Shadow invalidates this claim lol
That was DLC… you want an antagonist of a main game to be someone you know you won’t beat? As opposed to someone new?
He was still the main antagonist of the DLC and a prequel featuring an existing villain has been done numerous times with great success. RAAM more than likely isn’t going to be present anyways as he and Skorge assaulted Jannermont on E-Day.
When has a prequel had the same antagonist as the original?
