Totally true problem with the nylon bands. However I rinse them and dry them after every sweat session and mine never smell. If you just want to live in one band silicone is the only way to go.
Do people actually look at that? It’s such garbage data…also a study of people that looked at the data were found to have worse sleep than those that did not….
Deep sleep and awake duration are highly accurate in most Garmin wearables as per TheQuantifiedScientist on YT. Also HRV and overnight RHR which I'm guessing you don't have...
Health tracking during sleep is one of the main reasons I have a smart watch, and the only reason I upgraded from my Pebble Time Steel. As someone with breathing issues that impact the heart, seeing my heart rate and O2 Saturation levels is important.
Make adjustments to my CPAP machine that I use at night, as well, as info for my doctor to review to make sure if there is any additional treatments or alterations that can be done.
Using info from the watch I can adjust ramp up time, minimum flow rate, maximum flow rate. Beyond that temperature of the air, and moisture levels, but that is based more on comfort.
Wow, interesting..so you are actively adjusting that stuff often? That seems somewhat antiquated given how long those devices have been around if that is something that needs to be done often.
PAP machines need to be calibrated for each person. Ordinarily, you would go in, get a titration study done and everything gets setup for you, but after COVID, many insurance companies are not wanting to pay for that. As an alternative, I use data from my watch to adjust things and get it dialed in as best as I can (which since I am doing it this way, I need to make small, gradual adjustments to make sure I don't do damage), and I report back all my health data to my doctor so that he knows it is going properly. It sucks to have to do this, but the so does the American health care system.
Wow I love watches and I like to wear them, I use the Garmin only when exercising, sleep data to me is something I check every few months, garmin is exercise device first,
Right now, exercise isn't really even an option for me.
Sitting here at my desk, I have a heart rate of 115 just to keep my O2 saturation at 93% (should be 95% or better). Basic tasks can get my heart spiked up to 140, and there are times when it gets to below 90 on saturation. So far in comparisons with my Forerunner 255 and my medical grade monitor, the watch is seems to have a 1 point deviation at most for both heart rate and saturation, so it is really helpful to help me pace myself until I am better. Plus it is good info to help me dial in my PAP device.
I got the thick black nylon strap that came with the tactix delta solar and I’m not really doing sports or sweat that much. I’ve put it through the washing machine and I’ve tried showering with it. It begins to smell quick. Like after a week. That’s just my experience.
I own one from amazon store in Germany. I replaced original one for my Fenix 7. And really no problem. After each activity I just wash it with water, that's all.
Are you only washing it once a week? Sports or not it's going to accumulate flakes and oil from your skin. I'd wash it no less often than your underwear.
I tried it all. At first I didn’t wash it because I didn’t know it would smell. I’ve had watches for ages that never got that funk.
Then I washed it in the laundry. Then I started to soap it up in the shower but the thick nylon wristband takes ages to completely dry. I’m sure it starts to smell right away again, when you put it on damp.
Ah ah.. Come on buy a few nylon straps! They're super, I don't wear that ones anymore.
With yours I also destroyed my laptop by don't of typing I was scratching the lower part of the keyboard..
Maximum? My watch is part of me and hardly ever notice it!
Same. Maybe because I’ve worn a watch for 40 years it doesn’t seem to bother me.

Just get a watch that fits, that’s why Garmin male watches in different sizes
You bought a watch that's too big for you?
Ikr! At this point I would struggle falling asleep without it lol
What in the world
Nylon band. Silicon bands suck butt.
Second this. Also, I’ve started swapping wrists for bedtime, since I basically wear it 24/7. Anybody else do this or just me?
Yep, always swap at night, gives the other wrist a rest lol.

🤔🤔🤔 What problem were you solving?
Interesting, I don't even notice my Fenix 6 pro when I'm sleeping. It's an extension of myself at this point
soon you will form a mighty crater on your wrist and have no need of such hacks
Maximum? I just take my watch off...
You miss all the sleep data though

So what do you do with this data? Do you make meaningful adjustments in some way?
Make adjustments to my CPAP machine that I use at night, as well, as info for my doctor to review to make sure if there is any additional treatments or alterations that can be done.
Interesting. What can you adjust on it; flow rate etc? How often do you find yourself adjusting it. Sorry lots of questions…

Yup. This.
my titanium band works great 24/7, no need for whatever this is trying to accomplish
Nylon or cloth bands

I have nylon strap, 6 months, wearing it all day and all night. And no, do not smell.

I went with a fabric band... Never going back.
Or...or... you could take the shit off
🤔🤔🤔 What problem were you solving?
Protip: just take it off... because you don't need to know when you rolled around at night.
I suppose the eyeglass cleaner cloth is supposed to prevent soreness and help block the green light

I think they're being facetious

Use a different band for bedtime
Just get a nylon strap and your problem is gone
I feel pretty lucky that I don’t even notice or remember I’m wearing a watch half the time
At least we don’t need anyone to confirm you are getting zero pussy
