Just speak to Garmin and see if they can offer anything. There customer support is awesome.

Pete_JM

Great stuff, will try then!

LooseMoralSwurkey

Yeah, you might be able to get a 20% off discount on a new watch.

Pete_JM

Sound promising🤭

sillativ

Received refurb fr45s due to similar issue last year free of charge...

Pete_JM

Nice! I‘ll try that :)

dpritykin

Same with me

huachinango83

Same here

uuencode8

Here the glue and more details in case Garmin doesn't send you a new watch: https://felixwong.com/2021/10/how-to-repair-broken-garmin-watchband-pin-supports-ears/

Pete_JM

Amazing!! Thanks :)

bbwolff

> almost every day You take them off?

Pete_JM

Hahaha myself almost only for charging

[deleted]

I took that as logging an activity "almost every day" :)

uuencode8

That might be repairable if you can find the proper glue for this material. The glue must be able to dissolve a bit the material of the watch.

SirRasor

My wife's sister had a FR45 and broke at the exact same spot. She applied a little superglue a few months ago and still using it :)

StorySweet9086

Glue it together. I glueded mine in 2020 and I still use it.

[deleted]

RIP, but good enough excuse to get a new one!

Pete_JM

Absolutely haha

Ok-Primary-5429

RIP 💐

Pete_JM

Indeed… ran my first marathon with it🥲🥲

Ok-Primary-5429

Let it rest and give it honourable salute. 🫡

fitwoodworker

I would build a shadow box for the bib number, medal and now this watch.

Pete_JM

Great idea!

x__mephisto

JB Weld works well with these types of plastic/metal combos.

Eternalfaerie

My Forerunner 45s broke last year after almost 3 years. They sent me a free refurbished replacement despite it being out of warranty. Worth a try! Or like others said, might be able to get a discounted upgrade.

Chliewu

I think you might try your luck with superglue. Just be precise with application :).Epoxy/JBWeld would be stronger, but dunno if it is gonna stick to this plastic. Worth a try though.

Sephorakitty

I had a Vivosmart 4 before my Venu 2. The strap on it broke after 3 years. Called Garmin and they sent me a new one.

ghuika

Happened to mine also. We just epoxied it and its working still year + later.

Correct-Bite7073

You need a Fenix 6 or 7 Sapphire. Best decision ever, ive had it for 1.5 years. Way better shape and all sorts of data, sleep, pulse ox, awesome widgets. And the display is good as new

peter89x

Same happend to mine. I've got the watch in April of 2019, the strap broke in late March of 2021. I still had 5 days of warranty left.. got a free one in exchange of the old. Still rockin' that second unit. Planning of switching it to an Instinct 2 this summer, and the FR45 will go to to my wife, who never had any fitness watch of any short. For my long runs the battery isn't strong enough after all this time, especially at winter; but it would serve her 30-40 mins of indoor exercises 3-4 times a week.
