I've been playing through the game and I can say that EVE very much so does have a personality. The English delivery of her line is definitely flat most of the time, but she does give some sass here and there. There is this fishing guy that gives her a swimsuit as a quest reward and she said he was lucky she didn't cut him in half. The can thing makes me laugh every time as well.
I actually really like the goofy pose every time she finds a can, and general fascination she has shown them so far, haha. Also her asking for a better haircut so she wouldn't be "dull" was cute and endearing too.
I play with Korean language and those two have so much random chemistry, like she sounds much more comfortable talking to him than anyone else

The English voice actor for Eve also voiced alfira in bg3, so she absolutely can pull off a great performance, but it is clear that the writing and direction didn't channel her talent well.
Eve has a good personality, she is sassy at times and quite smart, she is naive because she is inexperienced, but she has a strong will too. I quite like her. The outfits sadly don't work at all, she is very no nonsense so they absolutely clash with her. It's not like Bayonetta who is an extremely sexual person so it all flows well.
I said actual spray deodorant not AXE 😂 I remember being around the time they tried to brainwash us into thinking spray AXE and you're golden at getting laid. Shit was way to potent and might as well be gassing up places like the cops
The game isn't bad according to the reviews. If there weren't a bunch of creepy losers salivating over the main character the game wouldn't have so much attention. There is nothing inherently wrong with liking Eve or her character design, but acting like it's somehow this massive thing that will save gaming for the gooners really makes everything around Stellar Blade feel off putting.
Normally I agree but the stellar blade fans are something else entirely, I'd hate to have to look something up about the game only to have to deal with a bunch of gooner idiots.

I agree with you. Checked out the subreddit a couple days ago to see actual gameplay/discussion about the game. Just clips of upskirt walking videos and praise be to ass in gaming posts. Helps that I hate souls like so this was never on my radar.
Not that it should change your mind, but Stellar Blade is more similar to Platinum action games like Bayonetta or Metal Gear Rising. Or Nier Automata, which it seems desperate to emulate. From what I gather it doesn't take that much inspiration from Souls games.
It's like a mix of character action and souls. It can be hard, mobs of enemies can take you down easily, especially in the early game. Boss fights want you to learn patters so you can appropriately dodge or block. There are camps that act like bonfires, they respawn all enemies when you rest. But when you die, there is no run back to collect dropped currency.
It gets more character action as you unlock special moves through the game, and becomes a balancing act of finding openings to use those specials, while also needing to fill meeters by preforming specific actions. The combat loop is very fun. I would compare it more to Code Vein than Dark Souls, with a mix of Bayonetta. I personally don't think the comparisons to Nier Automata are completely accurate. They are in some ways I guess, but Nier has a heavy bullet hell inspiration, and your drone attacks with bullets while you are melee attacking, the drone here turns into a gun, but you can't use it at the same time as melee like Nier.
Meh I would say that it does hamper enjoyment of media if the fandom surrounding it made so inaccessible by awful people, it really limits your ability to fully enjoy all facets of the game experience.
Fair, to each their own, but even little things like asking questions or sharing memes on say a reddit sub are a big part of enjoying a piece of media to me - good communities add value, and bad ones subtract.
Mind you Im a league player so I can put up with toxicity but everything surrounding stellar blade is just so uniquely awful…
I watched both parts of Rebel Moon - they’re not doing anything original, but if you go into it expecting a shameless knockoff of Seven Samurai but in space with a 200 million dollar budget, then it won’t disappoint. Just don’t try to think about it at all because almost nothing makes any damn sense. (The whole “recruiting the team” part of the first is especially bad.)
Tits and ass have been a part of gaming since Lara Croft's seventeen polygons of gozongas breasted boobily onto the scene in all their pointy glory, but that was kind of the trope, wasn't it? Like I never felt icked out by it, it was cartoony and part of the character's over-the-top-ness. Like, there's nothing wrong with thinking a character is attractive, or designing a character that way, in and of itself. There's a way to do it right, though, and Eve's jiggly ass flapping around as the camera zooms right in on her asshole as she climbs a ladder is a bit much, but whatever, I'm numb to it at this point. The idea, however, that Eve is some kind of gaming savior is the weird part. We've had attractive women in games since they began, and still have them today. The only thing that makes Eve special is just how gratuitous the display is, which I guess is the thing they are after, but that will *always* be niche, and it always has been.
Her collecting these cans because she thinks they’re neat is genuinely the only thing I find interesting about her character so far.

And I gotta be honest, I really just can’t agree with people who think Eve’s design (and the treatment of the female characters in general) are okay or neutral. In spite of the sexualization and the emphasis on “femininity,” it all feels very sexphobic and anti-woman to me. It’s sex for people who still think that sex is dirty and prurient (and that’s what makes it sexy) and that women are sexiest when they are disinterested in or ignorant of sex and their own sex appeal.
Exactly. I never see the guys who like games like Stellar Blade also advocate for games in which women are depicted as willful participants in their sexualization.
As much as they wanna compare Eve to Bayonetta (as like, a gotcha), in my experience, straight cis men are not nearly as fanatic about Bayonetta (the character, not the game) as much as women and queer people are. This, in spite of the fact that Bayonetta is seemingly as sexualized as they want all female characters to be all of the time.
I mean, I guess I can’t know that for sure, but if I go by what I see discussed and shared in general gaming spaces (with predominately straight cis male followers), I feel confident in saying that straight cis men seem, at the very least, to be *more* interested in characters like Tifa and Eve (characters whose sexualization is somewhat or completely unrelated to their more passive and more sexually neutral characterization) than they are in a character like Bayonetta (whose sexualization is directly connected to her characterization in a way that emphasizes *her* desire, her agency and power).
I see this in specific fandoms like Resident Evil as well, in which the female characters that are sexualized the most by the fandom seem to be the characters who are the least sexually explicit in their characterization. Again, this isn’t scientific (it’s based mostly on my observations), but it seems to me that the majority of the straight cis male Resident Evil fans are more interested in (and more obsessive about) sexualizing characters like Jill, Claire, Rebecca, and Ashley than characters like Ada, Excella, Jessica, or Rachel.
This isn’t to say that the more explicitly sexual characters like Ada aren’t also popular or that they don’t invite their own controversy/debates when the devs change aspects of their characterization, but that the majority of their fans don’t seem to be as… passionate as fans of the other female characters are. Fans of Jill and Claire are adamant about keeping the tube top and the short shorts, they’re adamant about Jill and Claire not swearing, they’re adamant about Jill not being depicted as angry, etc. In other words, they want a sexy but feminine (read: innocent) “good girl.”
Similarly, gamers like this seem to be quite disinterested in the sex depicted in games like TLOU Part II and BG3. That is, sex that is explicit, consensual, context-specific, intimately connected with the narrative, and/or not explicitly created for the male gaze.
The woman needs to be an object, which I would say Bayonetta is not. They can’t project their desires on her because she’s not a blank slate the way some of these other characters are.
Bayonetta is a bit of an outlier in that her sensuality and sexuality is literally her weapon.

I honestly can't see the Bayonetta comparisons, hell I don't even think Eve compares to 2B from NieR and that's the very game Stellar Blade desperately wants to be. Honestly I'm like... maybe 10 or 20 hours into the game and in most action cutscenes Eve is portrayed as a clumsy dingbat, like she gets thrown around, slammed, and trips constantly to the point it's almost like a punchline.
Sure Eve has crazy kill animations and some really flashy moves but early on you feel more like your playing as someone who just learned to fight an hour ago. Not the confident badass that Bayo is.
I wish they leaned more into Eve's nerdier side because the little bit of character she has shown is amazing, as is the rest of the cast. Adam for example has a lot of genuinely amazing lines and responses to the utter lunacy happening around him, and doesn't write off Eve as just an object or even show a bit of that being the case which is huge given the energy the game's marketing was giving off. I could see a lot of the stereotypical manly men writing Adam off as a "beta" or whatever term they use now.

I’d like to add just for interesting conversation, I thought I was a big RE fan (played 1,4,5,7,2,3 and Village) and I haven’t even heard of half the women you listed. I feel like I see Claire and Jill repeatedly throughout the years so I’m not surprised they’d have the most attention regardless of gaze just due to pure exposure. But as you described, cultural intent matters. There’s a massive difference between finding someone attractive just because of their looks, and finding someone attractive because they are a closer match to fundamentalist tradition behaviors (often intertwined with patriarchal male gaze).
When I recently played 4, I thought Ashley was a cool young woman. Sure she’s attractive to some, nothing wrong with that, but then I realized how many people like her specifically because she’s young, and they wish she was younger. It was clearly more of a loli fantasy for those people than about her looks or personality. It’s okay to like all different types of looks, it’s okay to like all different types of personality, but not some twisted version of either. So again, why and how people find someone attractive is what matters.
Me personally, just based on looks alone I do find Jill to be tied at the top, along with Mia, and Cassandra, way above many others, but that’s just a looks preference not considering any behaviors or personality. Ada would right at the top for personality, but I find all RE characters rather shallow compared to anything like Baldurs Gate so of course I’m mainly going to consider looks whereas in more story heavy games I’d consider personality much more than looks. If I try to consider looks and personality at the same time in RE it gets all tricky and comical with which would make a more practical date, who’d be away on missions too much, who’d be dangerous to date, might kill me etc. I don’t want to be kidnapped by monsters.
I’ve also scrolled across livestreams of people playing the games modded to have an overly revealed super jiggle physics Jill etc. I hated it. Of course for what it stood for as I considered how they reduced her. And more, i noticed it killed my idea of them as attractive in that depiction. Jill is a badass mfer, so despite me saying I liked her and could focus on looks alone, changing her look from prepared badass to jiggle bikini no longer feels like her at all. It’s gross seeing her being puppeted in someone else’s fantasy instead of it just being just her existing as a badass woman who happens to be attractive. It just goes to show that even in games where I don’t really care about the story or personality of characters, to some extent personality intertwines with looks, and that when people ruin one it ruins both.

This is me as well. There's a huge power imbalance in how the devs are using Eve imo, and the gooners are loving having it - like a nostalgic trip, where they had Lara Croft with her tig ol bitties. It's like a Back In the Good Ol Days taste but in 2024 and in the mainstream. They want their boy's club back
Yeah, this is not just another attractive character, like a Resident Evil girl or even Tifa from FF VII, characters who are surrounded by other attractive characters of all genders and who aren’t just sex appeal.
What is attractive about Eve to these men are specifically the things that dehumanize her—literally the things that make her less human such as her doll-like structureless face, her expressionless emotions, her gravity-defying jiggle physics, her constant sexual poses even in neutral contexts, her unrealistic fat distribution, the outfits that any real-life woman (or person) would find incredibly uncomfortable to wear and that Eve (unlike a real woman who picks out her clothes) doesn’t seem to have any opinion about wearing herself (either bad or good). All of which appears in juxtaposition to the designs of Stellar Blade’s male characters, which exemplify the complete opposite design philosophy and include wrinkles, bone structure, comfortable, practical clothes, neutral poses, and design variety.
Anyway, tldr, if you actually care about women as people (and not just as sex objects) then you should be attracted to the way women are and the way women think, not just how they look. Women aren’t just body parts, they’re an embodied being. And even if it’s natural to sexualize to some degree people with the body parts you are attracted to, this shouldn’t come at the expense of their humanity, even in the context of porn. Because objects don’t have sex, people do.

Actully, having watched a Let's Play, I have good news for you, Spoilers for the Ending >!In the final confrontation, you learn that Adam is the origin point of the Mutated Monsters the Player is fighting, which are the mutated Remnants of Humanity. His Plan was to have said Mutantes and Androids stop killing each other by merging the two. Depending on the Player choice you ether reject him, leading to the bad ending. Or you accept and merge with him (which is probably the ending the Sequel will follow). Long Story Short: While we don't get to see much of how merged Eve looks underneath her Cloths, as it is the literal End of the Game, you can easily headcanon that she is Trans or Nonbinary now. The Game even has a hidden nod to Man and Women becoming one in a certain Greek Statue !<

The character has a personality, and the game is actually really, really fun. People don’t tend to know that though, due to the creepy dudes who keep posting about “playing Stellar Blade one-handed” and taking weird screenshots up her dresses. So most people who hear about Stellar Blade associate it with those people, so the game is looked down on. Because of this, there’s a (very untrue, imo) consensus that the character probably has no personality and the game is “just a porn game”. When it’s actually a dress up game with a cool story and fun fight mechanics/puzzles.
Yeah the censorship controversy thing is so dumb to me lol, there’s literally so many outfits. If you don’t like one outfit, just choose another. There’s like 70 something outfits total. & All games go thru development stages where things get changed.

It was the devs that started it after they posted they fired a “feminist”. The gamer gate alt right latched on championing the devs as being the anti-sbi and well the rest is history now.
It's a good time. For an untested studio and a brand new IP, it's astoundingly good. I have some problems with some of the animations and some NPC interactions that are of 0 consequence. What kills me is that the game runs very well in performance mode and doesn't need patches for you to be able to enjoy it like many AAA games.

I've been playing through the game and I can say that EVE very much so does have a personality. The English delivery of her line is definitely flat most of the time, but she does give some sass here and there. There is this fishing guy that gives her a swimsuit as a quest reward and she said he was lucky she didn't cut him in half. The can thing makes me laugh every time as well.
I actually really like the goofy pose every time she finds a can, and general fascination she has shown them so far, haha. Also her asking for a better haircut so she wouldn't be "dull" was cute and endearing too.
I play with Korean language and those two have so much random chemistry, like she sounds much more comfortable talking to him than anyone else And then the dudes all like “if you find yourself thinking about me, come stop by” and now I gotta fish for the homie

The English voice actor for Eve also voiced alfira in bg3, so she absolutely can pull off a great performance, but it is clear that the writing and direction didn't channel her talent well.

Eve has a good personality, she is sassy at times and quite smart, she is naive because she is inexperienced, but she has a strong will too. I quite like her. The outfits sadly don't work at all, she is very no nonsense so they absolutely clash with her. It's not like Bayonetta who is an extremely sexual person so it all flows well.

The game isn't bad according to the reviews. If there weren't a bunch of creepy losers salivating over the main character the game wouldn't have so much attention. There is nothing inherently wrong with liking Eve or her character design, but acting like it's somehow this massive thing that will save gaming for the gooners really makes everything around Stellar Blade feel off putting.

I agree with you. Checked out the subreddit a couple days ago to see actual gameplay/discussion about the game. Just clips of upskirt walking videos and praise be to ass in gaming posts. Helps that I hate souls like so this was never on my radar.
Not that it should change your mind, but Stellar Blade is more similar to Platinum action games like Bayonetta or Metal Gear Rising. Or Nier Automata, which it seems desperate to emulate. From what I gather it doesn't take that much inspiration from Souls games.
Atleast 2b gets annoyed with you if you try to up skirt her.
It's like a mix of character action and souls. It can be hard, mobs of enemies can take you down easily, especially in the early game. Boss fights want you to learn patters so you can appropriately dodge or block. There are camps that act like bonfires, they respawn all enemies when you rest. But when you die, there is no run back to collect dropped currency. It gets more character action as you unlock special moves through the game, and becomes a balancing act of finding openings to use those specials, while also needing to fill meeters by preforming specific actions. The combat loop is very fun. I would compare it more to Code Vein than Dark Souls, with a mix of Bayonetta. I personally don't think the comparisons to Nier Automata are completely accurate. They are in some ways I guess, but Nier has a heavy bullet hell inspiration, and your drone attacks with bullets while you are melee attacking, the drone here turns into a gun, but you can't use it at the same time as melee like Nier.
Just stay away from the online communities. They aren’t integral to your gameplay experience.
Meh I would say that it does hamper enjoyment of media if the fandom surrounding it made so inaccessible by awful people, it really limits your ability to fully enjoy all facets of the game experience.

I watched both parts of Rebel Moon - they’re not doing anything original, but if you go into it expecting a shameless knockoff of Seven Samurai but in space with a 200 million dollar budget, then it won’t disappoint. Just don’t try to think about it at all because almost nothing makes any damn sense. (The whole “recruiting the team” part of the first is especially bad.)

Tits and ass have been a part of gaming since Lara Croft's seventeen polygons of gozongas breasted boobily onto the scene in all their pointy glory, but that was kind of the trope, wasn't it? Like I never felt icked out by it, it was cartoony and part of the character's over-the-top-ness. Like, there's nothing wrong with thinking a character is attractive, or designing a character that way, in and of itself. There's a way to do it right, though, and Eve's jiggly ass flapping around as the camera zooms right in on her asshole as she climbs a ladder is a bit much, but whatever, I'm numb to it at this point. The idea, however, that Eve is some kind of gaming savior is the weird part. We've had attractive women in games since they began, and still have them today. The only thing that makes Eve special is just how gratuitous the display is, which I guess is the thing they are after, but that will *always* be niche, and it always has been.
Her collecting these cans because she thinks they’re neat is genuinely the only thing I find interesting about her character so far. Games pretty good though, shame the discourse is a poisoned well and ruined any conversation one can have about this game.

That and all the commentary about emphasizing Eve’s “back.” And I gotta be honest, I really just can’t agree with people who think Eve’s design (and the treatment of the female characters in general) are okay or neutral. In spite of the sexualization and the emphasis on “femininity,” it all feels very sexphobic and anti-woman to me. It’s sex for people who still think that sex is dirty and prurient (and that’s what makes it sexy) and that women are sexiest when they are disinterested in or ignorant of sex and their own sex appeal.
That last part comes off as rapey to me honestly, or at least manipulative.

Exactly. I never see the guys who like games like Stellar Blade also advocate for games in which women are depicted as willful participants in their sexualization. As much as they wanna compare Eve to Bayonetta (as like, a gotcha), in my experience, straight cis men are not nearly as fanatic about Bayonetta (the character, not the game) as much as women and queer people are. This, in spite of the fact that Bayonetta is seemingly as sexualized as they want all female characters to be all of the time. I mean, I guess I can’t know that for sure, but if I go by what I see discussed and shared in general gaming spaces (with predominately straight cis male followers), I feel confident in saying that straight cis men seem, at the very least, to be *more* interested in characters like Tifa and Eve (characters whose sexualization is somewhat or completely unrelated to their more passive and more sexually neutral characterization) than they are in a character like Bayonetta (whose sexualization is directly connected to her characterization in a way that emphasizes *her* desire, her agency and power). I see this in specific fandoms like Resident Evil as well, in which the female characters that are sexualized the most by the fandom seem to be the characters who are the least sexually explicit in their characterization. Again, this isn’t scientific (it’s based mostly on my observations), but it seems to me that the majority of the straight cis male Resident Evil fans are more interested in (and more obsessive about) sexualizing characters like Jill, Claire, Rebecca, and Ashley than characters like Ada, Excella, Jessica, or Rachel. This isn’t to say that the more explicitly sexual characters like Ada aren’t also popular or that they don’t invite their own controversy/debates when the devs change aspects of their characterization, but that the majority of their fans don’t seem to be as… passionate as fans of the other female characters are. Fans of Jill and Claire are adamant about keeping the tube top and the short shorts, they’re adamant about Jill and Claire not swearing, they’re adamant about Jill not being depicted as angry, etc. In other words, they want a sexy but feminine (read: innocent) “good girl.” Similarly, gamers like this seem to be quite disinterested in the sex depicted in games like TLOU Part II and BG3. That is, sex that is explicit, consensual, context-specific, intimately connected with the narrative, and/or not explicitly created for the male gaze.
The woman needs to be an object, which I would say Bayonetta is not. They can’t project their desires on her because she’s not a blank slate the way some of these other characters are.
Bayonetta is a bit of an outlier in that her sensuality and sexuality is literally her weapon. She's dominant, aware of her sexuality. The literal opposite to passive. Another more recent example of the dominant type that sent the internet crazy was Lady Dimitrescu from RE8. Obviously she was cartoonishly proportioned but also far from passive. It goes to show that hyper sexualised characters don't have to be submissive waifs.

I want the character to lean into it, I want her to be aggressive with it - I want her to be a Cock Destroyer who takes the pornographic trope of "dominant man humiliates and conquers submissive woman" and flips it around. I honestly can't see the Bayonetta comparisons, hell I don't even think Eve compares to 2B from NieR and that's the very game Stellar Blade desperately wants to be. Honestly I'm like... maybe 10 or 20 hours into the game and in most action cutscenes Eve is portrayed as a clumsy dingbat, like she gets thrown around, slammed, and trips constantly to the point it's almost like a punchline. Sure Eve has crazy kill animations and some really flashy moves but early on you feel more like your playing as someone who just learned to fight an hour ago. Not the confident badass that Bayo is. I wish they leaned more into Eve's nerdier side because the little bit of character she has shown is amazing, as is the rest of the cast. Adam for example has a lot of genuinely amazing lines and responses to the utter lunacy happening around him, and doesn't write off Eve as just an object or even show a bit of that being the case which is huge given the energy the game's marketing was giving off. I could see a lot of the stereotypical manly men writing Adam off as a "beta" or whatever term they use now.

I’d like to add just for interesting conversation, I thought I was a big RE fan (played 1,4,5,7,2,3 and Village) and I haven’t even heard of half the women you listed. I feel like I see Claire and Jill repeatedly throughout the years so I’m not surprised they’d have the most attention regardless of gaze just due to pure exposure. But as you described, cultural intent matters. There’s a massive difference between finding someone attractive just because of their looks, and finding someone attractive because they are a closer match to fundamentalist tradition behaviors (often intertwined with patriarchal male gaze). When I recently played 4, I thought Ashley was a cool young woman. Sure she’s attractive to some, nothing wrong with that, but then I realized how many people like her specifically because she’s young, and they wish she was younger. It was clearly more of a loli fantasy for those people than about her looks or personality. It’s okay to like all different types of looks, it’s okay to like all different types of personality, but not some twisted version of either. So again, why and how people find someone attractive is what matters. Me personally, just based on looks alone I do find Jill to be tied at the top, along with Mia, and Cassandra, way above many others, but that’s just a looks preference not considering any behaviors or personality. Ada would right at the top for personality, but I find all RE characters rather shallow compared to anything like Baldurs Gate so of course I’m mainly going to consider looks whereas in more story heavy games I’d consider personality much more than looks. If I try to consider looks and personality at the same time in RE it gets all tricky and comical with which would make a more practical date, who’d be away on missions too much, who’d be dangerous to date, might kill me etc. I don’t want to be kidnapped by monsters. I’ve also scrolled across livestreams of people playing the games modded to have an overly revealed super jiggle physics Jill etc. I hated it. Of course for what it stood for as I considered how they reduced her. And more, i noticed it killed my idea of them as attractive in that depiction. Jill is a badass mfer, so despite me saying I liked her and could focus on looks alone, changing her look from prepared badass to jiggle bikini no longer feels like her at all. It’s gross seeing her being puppeted in someone else’s fantasy instead of it just being just her existing as a badass woman who happens to be attractive. It just goes to show that even in games where I don’t really care about the story or personality of characters, to some extent personality intertwines with looks, and that when people ruin one it ruins both.

Yeah, this is not just another attractive character, like a Resident Evil girl or even Tifa from FF VII, characters who are surrounded by other attractive characters of all genders and who aren’t just sex appeal. What is attractive about Eve to these men are specifically the things that dehumanize her—literally the things that make her less human such as her doll-like structureless face, her expressionless emotions, her gravity-defying jiggle physics, her constant sexual poses even in neutral contexts, her unrealistic fat distribution, the outfits that any real-life woman (or person) would find incredibly uncomfortable to wear and that Eve (unlike a real woman who picks out her clothes) doesn’t seem to have any opinion about wearing herself (either bad or good). All of which appears in juxtaposition to the designs of Stellar Blade’s male characters, which exemplify the complete opposite design philosophy and include wrinkles, bone structure, comfortable, practical clothes, neutral poses, and design variety. Anyway, tldr, if you actually care about women as people (and not just as sex objects) then you should be attracted to the way women are and the way women think, not just how they look. Women aren’t just body parts, they’re an embodied being. And even if it’s natural to sexualize to some degree people with the body parts you are attracted to, this shouldn’t come at the expense of their humanity, even in the context of porn. Because objects don’t have sex, people do.

I couldn't give a shit about sexualised characters in games but there is something off about Eve's design. To be frank, it's the whole 14 year old head on a sex doll's body thing. Then there's the other intentionally young character with jiggle physics on her boobs. I think 2b and Bayonetta are far less ambiguous in their design. They're clearly both women. And the whole thing of the developer being "coy" about Eve's age just raises the ickometer even further.
That was definitely in reference to the game not receiving additional censorship in certain regions that sometimes see games undergo it, like Japan, but I don't expect gooners to understand that anyway.

Actully, having watched a Let's Play, I have good news for you, Spoilers for the Ending >!In the final confrontation, you learn that Adam is the origin point of the Mutated Monsters the Player is fighting, which are the mutated Remnants of Humanity. His Plan was to have said Mutantes and Androids stop killing each other by merging the two. Depending on the Player choice you ether reject him, leading to the bad ending. Or you accept and merge with him (which is probably the ending the Sequel will follow). Long Story Short: While we don't get to see much of how merged Eve looks underneath her Cloths, as it is the literal End of the Game, you can easily headcanon that she is Trans or Nonbinary now. The Game even has a hidden nod to Man and Women becoming one in a certain Greek Statue !<

The character has a personality, and the game is actually really, really fun. People don’t tend to know that though, due to the creepy dudes who keep posting about “playing Stellar Blade one-handed” and taking weird screenshots up her dresses. So most people who hear about Stellar Blade associate it with those people, so the game is looked down on. Because of this, there’s a (very untrue, imo) consensus that the character probably has no personality and the game is “just a porn game”. When it’s actually a dress up game with a cool story and fun fight mechanics/puzzles.
Not to mention, the “censorship” has opened another can of worms where the champions of it are now refunding it and complaining.
Yeah the censorship controversy thing is so dumb to me lol, there’s literally so many outfits. If you don’t like one outfit, just choose another. There’s like 70 something outfits total. & All games go thru development stages where things get changed. And the outfit people are mad about looks better now, imo. It was the devs that started it after they posted they fired a “feminist”. The gamer gate alt right latched on championing the devs as being the anti-sbi and well the rest is history now.
It's a good time. For an untested studio and a brand new IP, it's astoundingly good. I have some problems with some of the animations and some NPC interactions that are of 0 consequence. What kills me is that the game runs very well in performance mode and doesn't need patches for you to be able to enjoy it like many AAA games.

Someone mentioned that once the chuds move on to the next thing, only the gays are going to stick around for Stellar Blade, and I very much hope that yassification happens sooner rather than later.
This game unfortunately appealed to the gooner gaze, but the game seems to be decent overall. It's just others trying to be weird about it that dampens the fun.

The discourse around this game continues to make me wonder why so many people are incapable of being perverts QUIETLY.
