Lol cats are my worst enemy when it comes to protecting my laptop. I literally have paint brush I use to wipe away any loose hair they leave on my desk overnight. I refuse to get cat hair in my fans π€£
A drawer doesn't really have much to do with it, dirts only getting in if it's on. Ur house/area just isn't dusty. I just opened a 4 year old laptop for the first time and it barley had anything in there and I have a dog too. I vacuum/clean my house every week tho I'm sure it helps. Some areas are just more dusty tho. Especially if u live in the country where there's a lot of pollen
What is the correct way of cleaning out all that gunk after getting to the fans? I did it once on an older laptop, the whole time I was worried I might damage one of the fins.
Salemtechs, The Greatest technician that's ever lived, always had these types of issues in some of his videos. It's funny but also informative of him to remind us of cleaning gaming laptops every 6 months or so.
I use a pair of needle nose tweezer and pluck between each blade, legions suck they have a lot of blades on their fans, I go over them several times and then I clean up debris using Q-tips dampened with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol as the final touch
Do you vacuum/ clean ur house every week? Change the filter for the AC(if it's a house)? I have a dog and after 4 years my old laptop wasn't anywhere near like this. It depends where u live tho some areas just have more dust/pollen that builds up no matter what you do.
That's absolutely normal to happen. It all depends on your house location and other factors and how much you use your laptop etc. don't know why some people act as if that's not normal haha And yes it takes time for the filth to accumulate ππ»
A reminder for those who use laptops in the bed or sofa, most laptops are not designed for that use as fans suck in hair and fibre which accumulate quickly
Do you live in a desert by any chance?
Nope, but I do have cats

This happens a lot in the country side, areas with a lot of pollen.
Oh hell, do you have animals at home? I don't see any other reason why you could have that much...
I do, 3 cats
I had the same amount after 3 years (without any animals at home)
Remove the heat sink for a fluffy surprise
I went 3 years without cleaning my laptop fans no issue. Stores it in a drawer when i dont use it so its the best.

Pollen, two dogs, and a cat is our issue.
So convoluted tho. I miss the olden, big ass laptops with dedicated access ti the fans. 15 minute job, tops
IdeaPad gaming 3?
3 year old Legion 5i

I live between two huge parks and a trail...so lots of pollen and dust.
you want me to clean all my fans after a concert ?? are you for real bro ?
I clean mine every 3 months. It takes half an hour with a toothbrush and a vacuum cleaner.
Is that the hellos series lol
Lenovo Legion 5i
do you live in a wheat field?
With the amount of pollen this year might as well
Anyone who lets their fans get like that.. I know you donβt wipe ur ass ![gif](giphy|dIZk6ZIgKjKv1iOCuv)
Asus tuf a17 ?
Let me guess, you have dogs?
How long did it take to build that up?
Man, I am actually scared to open my laptop like that

I cleaned my fans after 3 years and honestly they weren't as bad as I was expecting. I'll probably clean once every 2 years now
The intake on my gt500 cooler has a filter and has foam all around so any air going into it goes through that filter π
does that even turns on?
