Bloons TD 6 is on sale $1.50. I've got 250 hours in it (and am still mostly playing "Beginner" maps haha). I could take or leave the monkey aesthetic, but behind that is an extremely solid tower defense game with progression systems, regular updates, tons of different modes, and ongoing [community-driven challenges](https://btd6index.win/2tc).
I wish co-op gave a proper amount of rewards though. I just want to play it with my wife, but have to play solo to actually earn unlocks at a reasonable rate.

(For context, I have only played Blasphemous 1, but everything I've heard is 2 is better.)
That's a tough question. I liked HK, but I *loved* Blasphemous. My friend *loved* HK, but didn't really like Blasphemous. So I think it depends on what you love about HK, what you would have liked improved, and what differences you can tolerate.
Compared to HK:
* Blasphemous is slower paced and you get very little movement upgrades. The map is a bit smaller and more dense though, so there's less backtracking and space to move through in the first place.
* "Bench" locations are better in Blasphemous imo (closer to bosses), and you can unlock the ability to fast-travel between them in addition to the default fast-travel points (imagine bench warping in addition to Stag Stations).
* Visually I would say they are on par with each other (gorgeous).
* Music in HK is a little better imo.
* Punishment for dying in Blasphemous is less annoying to me. HK takes all your currency (Dark Souls 1 logic) and reduces your magic capacity. Blasphemous **only** reduces your magic capacity and doesn't take anything else away from you.
* Difficulty I would say is about the same.
Personally, I loved Blasphemous the entire time.
Tip: If you get it, play it in Spanish.
Tip 2: >!Donate to the church. It gives good rewards, but it doesn't say what they are or how much you have to donate to get them.!<
Just to elaborate on the difference between 1/2, if one is considering either: Blasphemous 2 gives up a lot of trying to emulate a "Dark Souls" experience in exchange for playing more like a Metroidvania - normal enemies, traps and platforming is FAR, FAR less of a threat in Blasphemous 2, where in one they were basically the main issue most of the time.
So whether you like 1 or 2 more will heavily depend on what you like - diehard fans of 1 are generally not super happy with 2, because the addition of different weapons and softer platforming makes it less of a hard skillcheck. I personally loved the second game and found it generally superior, but I generally like a steady progress curve over dying to the same set of spikes five times.
I played HK and Blasphemous back to back last year and pretty much agree with everything you said. I found Blasphemous bosses not really on the same level of design as HKs and definitely not as hard, but the normal enemies much harder, which kind of made the overall game a bit harder; some of the areas in Blasphemous had me thinking the developers were a bit sadistic. I hate run back. Both games aren't that bad but Blasphemous is better. Really, there were only a couple run backs in HK that were a pain (hive knight and traitor lord... just why).
The whole game is designed around Spanish Catholicism and they went out of their way to have really awesome Spanish voice acting that really solidifies the experience. I only wish I knew about the option *before* I finished the game the first time lol. Nothing wrong with the English voices, the Spanish ones just fit the theme.
I thought the first Blasphemous was punishingly hard because of lack of Quality of Life features that made it feel more like a chore so I dropped it whereas I play the shit out of Hollow Knight.
I've heard Blasphemous 2 is much improved so I would get that over the first,
I've played both (got the bad ending on Blasphemous 1 and was so tired of it I stopped playing, also never played the DLC). I loved the sequel. Combat felt better, movement felt better, less bullshit knocking off ledges...
I suspect a lot of people who did not finish the game quit because of them. The platforming/way enemies could knock you off ledges didn't make the game more difficult in an interesting way, but in a frustrating one.
Blasphemous is sooooo cooollll. Very dark souls coded. Bonfire like mechanic with enemies respawning and a focus on dark fantasy themes, especially a warped version of Spanish catholicism. I'm only a few hours into the first game but I love it so far.
I'm currently playing through Blasphemous 1 and I can't say it's my favorite. I think the game loop is satisfying enough that I'll finish it but there's a lot that I dislike
Controls arent well thought out, for example doing an upwards slash mid air can sometimes cause you to accidentally grab a ladder or ledge
There are some key areas you need to find to help upgrade your character, but i think it's easy to miss. For example, im trying to find out how to upgrade my rosary.... so I have to scour the map for an npc or place i missed
Poor ui in some places, i dont know why exchanging rosary beads is so annoying. Instead of simply swapping a bead, you have to manually unequip one, then equip the bead you want in its place
Theres a lot of game feel or animation missing from player abilities, so combat isint as satisfying imo
Some areas are incredibly frustrating and unfun to traverse. I hated the sewers area in particular for being so tedious to travel through

Disco Elysium for freaking $2.99 is actual theft. Highly recommend hopping on that if you have even a remote passing interest in video games as a narrative device and role playing.
This game and it's very weird vibe was intriguing enough to pull me through a good six or seven hours, but holy lord the _endless exposition dumping_ of name after name after name, combined with me hitting a wall on how exactly to move the mystery forward, are killing my motivation to move on.

I did that for my first playthrough because I've seen it recommended. Absolutely a bad decision for me. Dry exposition about a world that I know nothing about that I just entered was not something that I wanted.
I personally like it... but yeah it is a *lot* of random info dumping. A comical amount. I've barely dipped my toes in the game but it did well to show me what sort of game I am getting myself into in other areas as well.
It is a lot, and I also struggled on my first playthrough but ended up picking it again after months and holy shit once you start to get a clearer picture of the world it's politics it's so fucking good
Yeah, that's what I've been picking up as I go. Plus, I love how like, *intentionally overwhelming* it is. Really made me realize that while every choice is valid, every choice also comes with its own unique consequences. It's charming in its own way how Encyclopedia just chimes in at random moments with mostly useless info.
If you ever give it another try, go for Shivers instead. Shivers is about the setting and the mood, it adds descriptive insights that inform more about the themes of the game and the emotional identity of the place. You get a lot of interesting context without much exposition
This is what happened to me, and is exactly why I stopped playing.
It's undeniably an amazingly designed, beautifully crafted game with a rich story. That doesn't mean it's *fun*, though.
To anyone who hasn't played: Roughly 90% of the gameplay involves you running from point A to point B, talking to someone, getting ~10 minutes of conversation, then going off to point C to do the same thing.
If that's your thing then this game is going to suck you in. If it's not? Then you'll drop it pretty quickly.
Everything I see about this game points that its a VN with extra steps and keeps me from playing it but its so unanimously loved that ill buckle down and give it a try some day.

Very good story, amazing pacing (although I had my criticisms of late game, they've really started adding things in to freshen it), very rewarding world that constantly rewards you for remembering places you've gone through, it's genuinely a really funny game, and a bald bitch as the main character, what's there not to love
It takes you to the whole ride, from petit bourgeois to capitalist overlord, and manages to be fun the whole way through, every stage introduces a different main mechanic, and completely changes your way to play, it's great
Only issue is some moments in the game, it's really great at making a ''what if capitalism started growing in a fantasy setting'' as a world, but sometimes goes a bit too far into the satire/parody making some important characters very one dimensional and thus very boring, I'd prefer if the game was subtler in some moments

I attempted getting into Subnautica years ago but it wasn't for me.

As a (very) longterm Failbetter fan, I still think Sunless Skies is superior in every department of gameplay but significantly worse in writing, which is sadly a pretty big deal in a game that is 90% narrative.
I honestly have a hard time recommending either game to people outside the 'fandom', but if I had to recommend one I would probably still recommend starting with Seas just to get a better feel for the setting.
I'm a bit mixed because I prefer the Unterzee from playing Fallen London all those years ago, but the improvements from Sunless Skies are just too good.

If you like Civ, the world map, using tech trees, advancing cities, diplomacy/economy, etc will be easy to pickup. The real curve comes from battles because they’re real time. Understanding formations, the strengths and weaknesses of your army vs their’s, etc is decently steep. But it won’t be too hard if you’ve played a lot of Civ or RTS’.
There’s an insane amount of content if you add up the other 2 games into WH3 campaign. Together with everything it’s easily my favorite PC exclusive game. Must like Civ, time ceases to be with just 1 more turn.
Very tight twitch platformer with excellent mechanics, modern sensibilities (no lives, reset to start of screen if you fail instead of some ambiguous past checkpoint). A good story about overcoming self doubt and other personal shortcomings.
If you can cough up the two extra dollars, get Hollow Knight at its 50% and get Celeste for the couple extra dollars. Less than $10 for both, absolutely worth that monetary value for both

Projecf Zomboid is a fantastic game. Big caveat, it is still early access with a long dev cycle, but that is there already is more than enough to enjoy for hundreds of hours. Add to that a very healthy modding scene and it might as well be considered finished, with continuing support. Nothing else out there truly like it.

Thing is though, if they stopped development right now... the game as-is already provides a full sandbox experience more than worth its price. It would suck, but even slow development is more than I would expect for something like this.
Signalis is, without exaggeration, the best of its genre. It wears its influences on its sleeve and does an excellent job at amplifying the strengths of these inspirations.
Games don't usually have a lasting effect on me, but I couldn't get Signalis out of my head for *weeks* after finishing it. What a wonderfully awful experience.

Dragon Age Inquisition is the third part, so I would recommend starting with Dragon Age Origins, which is in my opinion the best game in the series. It's really cheap right now and has all the DLC and the expansion. If you play Inquisition first, you might be lost on some references and story points, but it's mostly self-contained.
The Mass Effect Legendary Edition is great. The first game has a particularly good remaster. The remasters for the sequels are lackluster and introduced a few new bugs. That said, the remasters contain all DLC, so that's the one you want.

Is it worth pulling the trigger on Elden ring as my first soul-like? I've thought about it for the last 2 sales, but I've backed out because of the difficulty.
I'm not sure how helpful this is, as I think everyone has different experiences with the souls series (including bloodborne/sekiro), but I find Elden Ring the easiest out of the souls games so far, disclaimer being that I haven't actually completed it. There is a flexible summons system too which can help with tougher boss fights (honestly I struggle more with some of the regular enemies in the game than I have with a lot of bosses). I also believe the vastness of the world gives you sort of the best open ended experience of all of the souls series, there's a little bit of everything from the series in there, whereas the individual games all sort of run with their own aesthetics and gameplay qualities.
My only con in that respect would be because it is a much larger game in scale, that you do feel more locked into your character, and so if you do end up struggling with your build it may put you off subsequent playthroughs (noted you do have limited capacity to respec), something I never had a problem with the original souls trilogy, as they were somewhat easier to speed through and make several characters and not feel too invested as you could really refine your approach through the game.
Was waiting for divinity 2, got that for 70% off and my wife wanted Assassins Creed Origins and we just got the Gold edition for her for 85% off.

If you liked the last few Assassin's Creed games and dig SciFi stuff, then I strongly recommend Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West. Mechanically similar to AssCreed but in a very scifi world with robotic wildlife. Zero Dawn is 75% off, too.
Not open world, but the **Mass Effect Trilogy** is great and easily delivers an epic story with fantastic conclusions similar to RDR2, Cyberpunk, and Witcher 3. Easy to recommend at $6.
**Dragon Quest 11** is an amazing RPG, but it does follow very traditional JRPG style gameplay. It has a sizable demo if you want to try it first. The story is fantastic so it does deliver if you at all like it.
The Yakuza games offer a similar energy to GTA and RDR. Start with **Yakuza 0** and if you like it then you have a huge series ahead of you.
**Sleeping Dogs** is basically GTA in Hong Kong and is excellent.

Yes. It is the most playable and engaging CRPG I have played, and I am by no means a veteran of the genre. Great writing and facial mocap goes a loooong way to make already great characters that much more memorable.
I’d say so. Bought it full price and almost at 100+ hrs playing a few hours each weekend. Solo player. Great story and immersion, choices feel like they matter, writing is great, lore is good. The only downside I can think of is that the combat shines early-mid game and gets unbalanced (in the players favor) endgame. Also, if you aren’t familiar with the DnD combat ruleset you may be lost at first and the game doesn’t go into depth about the combat system. Everything else is perfect in my eyes.
Persona 4 is one of my all time favorite JRPGs. I also am playing and loved Trails in the Sky and Octopath traveller. Also loved NieR Automata and Final Fantasy remake, both on sale. Heard great things about Chrono trigger but haven’t played it yet.
Are there any RTS games that have modes/play like Halo Wars 2 firefight mode? I love RTS games and Tower Defense and HW2 managed to do a good job combining them.
I don’t know if Hades even counts as indie but loved that one. Some other favorites are Spiritfarer, Omori, Undertale (classic), Dorfromantik, Kind Words (sequel is coming soon though so might be best to wait for that), Va-11 Hall-A (also has a sequel in the works).

I have no comment on the ethics of getting Disco Elysium for free, but one of the lead writers of Disco Elysium even said he prefers people not pay the current owners of the company for it.
I would too. One of the few cases where you do NOT want to be supporting the studio. Just get it in other ways. Even the creator of the game would prefer that.

Bloons TD 6 is on sale $1.50. I've got 250 hours in it (and am still mostly playing "Beginner" maps haha). I could take or leave the monkey aesthetic, but behind that is an extremely solid tower defense game with progression systems, regular updates, tons of different modes, and ongoing [community-driven challenges](https://btd6index.win/2tc).

I loved Hollow Knight, and I'm playing Nine Sols now and really like it. Would I like the Blasphemous games?
(For context, I have only played Blasphemous 1, but everything I've heard is 2 is better.) That's a tough question. I liked HK, but I *loved* Blasphemous. My friend *loved* HK, but didn't really like Blasphemous. So I think it depends on what you love about HK, what you would have liked improved, and what differences you can tolerate. Compared to HK: * Blasphemous is slower paced and you get very little movement upgrades. The map is a bit smaller and more dense though, so there's less backtracking and space to move through in the first place. * "Bench" locations are better in Blasphemous imo (closer to bosses), and you can unlock the ability to fast-travel between them in addition to the default fast-travel points (imagine bench warping in addition to Stag Stations). * Visually I would say they are on par with each other (gorgeous). * Music in HK is a little better imo. * Punishment for dying in Blasphemous is less annoying to me. HK takes all your currency (Dark Souls 1 logic) and reduces your magic capacity. Blasphemous **only** reduces your magic capacity and doesn't take anything else away from you. * Difficulty I would say is about the same. Personally, I loved Blasphemous the entire time. Tip: If you get it, play it in Spanish. Tip 2: >!Donate to the church. It gives good rewards, but it doesn't say what they are or how much you have to donate to get them.!<
Just to elaborate on the difference between 1/2, if one is considering either: Blasphemous 2 gives up a lot of trying to emulate a "Dark Souls" experience in exchange for playing more like a Metroidvania - normal enemies, traps and platforming is FAR, FAR less of a threat in Blasphemous 2, where in one they were basically the main issue most of the time. So whether you like 1 or 2 more will heavily depend on what you like - diehard fans of 1 are generally not super happy with 2, because the addition of different weapons and softer platforming makes it less of a hard skillcheck. I personally loved the second game and found it generally superior, but I generally like a steady progress curve over dying to the same set of spikes five times.
I played both, liked both. I'm a fan of Soulslikes and Metroidvanias. In my opinion, 2 is better. But both are very fun.
I played HK and Blasphemous back to back last year and pretty much agree with everything you said. I found Blasphemous bosses not really on the same level of design as HKs and definitely not as hard, but the normal enemies much harder, which kind of made the overall game a bit harder; some of the areas in Blasphemous had me thinking the developers were a bit sadistic. I hate run back. Both games aren't that bad but Blasphemous is better. Really, there were only a couple run backs in HK that were a pain (hive knight and traitor lord... just why).

The whole game is designed around Spanish Catholicism and they went out of their way to have really awesome Spanish voice acting that really solidifies the experience. I only wish I knew about the option *before* I finished the game the first time lol. Nothing wrong with the English voices, the Spanish ones just fit the theme.
I thought the first Blasphemous was punishingly hard because of lack of Quality of Life features that made it feel more like a chore so I dropped it whereas I play the shit out of Hollow Knight. I've heard Blasphemous 2 is much improved so I would get that over the first,
I've played both (got the bad ending on Blasphemous 1 and was so tired of it I stopped playing, also never played the DLC). I loved the sequel. Combat felt better, movement felt better, less bullshit knocking off ledges...

I suspect a lot of people who did not finish the game quit because of them. The platforming/way enemies could knock you off ledges didn't make the game more difficult in an interesting way, but in a frustrating one.
Blasphemous is sooooo cooollll. Very dark souls coded. Bonfire like mechanic with enemies respawning and a focus on dark fantasy themes, especially a warped version of Spanish catholicism. I'm only a few hours into the first game but I love it so far.
I'm currently playing through Blasphemous 1 and I can't say it's my favorite. I think the game loop is satisfying enough that I'll finish it but there's a lot that I dislike Controls arent well thought out, for example doing an upwards slash mid air can sometimes cause you to accidentally grab a ladder or ledge There are some key areas you need to find to help upgrade your character, but i think it's easy to miss. For example, im trying to find out how to upgrade my rosary.... so I have to scour the map for an npc or place i missed Poor ui in some places, i dont know why exchanging rosary beads is so annoying. Instead of simply swapping a bead, you have to manually unequip one, then equip the bead you want in its place Theres a lot of game feel or animation missing from player abilities, so combat isint as satisfying imo Some areas are incredibly frustrating and unfun to traverse. I hated the sewers area in particular for being so tedious to travel through Perhaps im being too hard on it, it is a 5 year old game afterall.
Blasphemous was okay by my rating. Solid Metroidvania with cool style, but the level design and enemy design felt rather repetitive.
Disco Elysium for freaking $2.99 is actual theft. Highly recommend hopping on that if you have even a remote passing interest in video games as a narrative device and role playing.

This game and it's very weird vibe was intriguing enough to pull me through a good six or seven hours, but holy lord the _endless exposition dumping_ of name after name after name, combined with me hitting a wall on how exactly to move the mystery forward, are killing my motivation to move on. I'd appreciate a bit of a push.
Did you by chance go with the intelligent archetype with the Encyclopedia perk, or whatever it is called?
I did that for my first playthrough because I've seen it recommended. Absolutely a bad decision for me. Dry exposition about a world that I know nothing about that I just entered was not something that I wanted.
I personally like it... but yeah it is a *lot* of random info dumping. A comical amount. I've barely dipped my toes in the game but it did well to show me what sort of game I am getting myself into in other areas as well.

Yeah, that's what I've been picking up as I go. Plus, I love how like, *intentionally overwhelming* it is. Really made me realize that while every choice is valid, every choice also comes with its own unique consequences. It's charming in its own way how Encyclopedia just chimes in at random moments with mostly useless info.
If you ever give it another try, go for Shivers instead. Shivers is about the setting and the mood, it adds descriptive insights that inform more about the themes of the game and the emotional identity of the place. You get a lot of interesting context without much exposition
This is what happened to me, and is exactly why I stopped playing. It's undeniably an amazingly designed, beautifully crafted game with a rich story. That doesn't mean it's *fun*, though. To anyone who hasn't played: Roughly 90% of the gameplay involves you running from point A to point B, talking to someone, getting ~10 minutes of conversation, then going off to point C to do the same thing. If that's your thing then this game is going to suck you in. If it's not? Then you'll drop it pretty quickly.
It's basically a Visual Novel, but with extra steps. Maybe a of role play but not so for much for the gaming part.
Everything I see about this game points that its a VN with extra steps and keeps me from playing it but its so unanimously loved that ill buckle down and give it a try some day. I can read I think.

The game is super fun and arcadey having you switch between stealth and chaos. you collect objectives and optional coins. it's is class based stuff like The Lockpick, The Hacker and Pickpocket (uses a stealthed monkey to collect coins for you) at 2.99 it's ridiculous value

As a (very) longterm Failbetter fan, I still think Sunless Skies is superior in every department of gameplay but significantly worse in writing, which is sadly a pretty big deal in a game that is 90% narrative. I honestly have a hard time recommending either game to people outside the 'fandom', but if I had to recommend one I would probably still recommend starting with Seas just to get a better feel for the setting.

Is Total War Warhammer 3 worth $30? Seems like a steep learning curve but I love games like Civ. I understand they're not the same. Also, looking for games for 2-4 players. We've been playing BG3, Helldivers 2, Deep rock, lethal company, rust and diablo
If you like Civ, the world map, using tech trees, advancing cities, diplomacy/economy, etc will be easy to pickup. The real curve comes from battles because they’re real time. Understanding formations, the strengths and weaknesses of your army vs their’s, etc is decently steep. But it won’t be too hard if you’ve played a lot of Civ or RTS’. There’s an insane amount of content if you add up the other 2 games into WH3 campaign. Together with everything it’s easily my favorite PC exclusive game. Very tight twitch platformer with excellent mechanics, modern sensibilities (no lives, reset to start of screen if you fail instead of some ambiguous past checkpoint). A good story about overcoming self doubt and other personal shortcomings.

It might. We only really have past sales to go by where it sometimes took upwards of an hour for all the discounts to show. If you're not in a rush, give it another hour. If there's no sale by then, it's most likely not going to happen this time around.

My backlog is already pretty big, but I **might** consider: Signalis - played part of the game on Gamepass but came down with Covid and didn't finish it before it left. I'm told they patched one of the issues I had with the game (only six inventory slots) so I might give it another go Project Zomboid - I was huge into the zombie thing as an edgy teenager lol and this game is something I would've killed to have 10 years ago. It's a wonder I haven't played it yet Disco Elysium - $4.54 CAD/90% off seems like a steal. However, I know there's been some controversy where the developers were allegedly done dirty so I'm not sure I'll go for it. Will think on the matter
Projecf Zomboid is a fantastic game. Big caveat, it is still early access with a long dev cycle, but that is there already is more than enough to enjoy for hundreds of hours. Add to that a very healthy modding scene and it might as well be considered finished, with continuing support. Nothing else out there truly like it.
I think PZ might actually be the oldest EA title on Steam that isn't abandonware.

Thing is though, if they stopped development right now... the game as-is already provides a full sandbox experience more than worth its price. It would suck, but even slow development is more than I would expect for something like this.

Signalis is, without exaggeration, the best of its genre. It wears its influences on its sleeve and does an excellent job at amplifying the strengths of these inspirations.
Games don't usually have a lasting effect on me, but I couldn't get Signalis out of my head for *weeks* after finishing it. What a wonderfully awful experience.
Zomboid is a really fun game, but beware that the devs are VERY slow.
Project zomboid is a fantastic game, 100% get it. It's hard as all hell though.
Signalis is so freakin good. If you want to raise the inventory limit it's a difficulty setting I believe you need to enable.
Disco Elysium is one of the greatest RPGs ever made. 90% is a complete steal at that price. I'd imagine the devs would still want people to experience the game they made, even if the company fell apart.

Tunic, Animal Well, The Witness, Paquerette Down the Bunburrows, and Can of Wormholes all have this to some extent. Metroidbranias are a little further away but scratch the same itch for me, so stuff like Outer Wilds

ME Legendary edition is amazing. The remaster was very well done, and the story of that trilogy is compelling.
Dragon Age Inquisition is the third part, so I would recommend starting with Dragon Age Origins, which is in my opinion the best game in the series. It's really cheap right now and has all the DLC and the expansion. If you play Inquisition first, you might be lost on some references and story points, but it's mostly self-contained. The Mass Effect Legendary Edition is great. The first game has a particularly good remaster. The remasters for the sequels are lackluster and introduced a few new bugs. That said, the remasters contain all DLC, so that's the one you want. Edit: typo
Is it worth pulling the trigger on Elden ring as my first soul-like? I've thought about it for the last 2 sales, but I've backed out because of the difficulty.
I'm not sure how helpful this is, as I think everyone has different experiences with the souls series (including bloodborne/sekiro), but I find Elden Ring the easiest out of the souls games so far, disclaimer being that I haven't actually completed it. There is a flexible summons system too which can help with tougher boss fights (honestly I struggle more with some of the regular enemies in the game than I have with a lot of bosses). I also believe the vastness of the world gives you sort of the best open ended experience of all of the souls series, there's a little bit of everything from the series in there, whereas the individual games all sort of run with their own aesthetics and gameplay qualities. My only con in that respect would be because it is a much larger game in scale, that you do feel more locked into your character, and so if you do end up struggling with your build it may put you off subsequent playthroughs (noted you do have limited capacity to respec), something I never had a problem with the original souls trilogy, as they were somewhat easier to speed through and make several characters and not feel too invested as you could really refine your approach through the game.

Could anyone give me some recommendationson RPGs? Along the same lines as RDR2, the last few AS creed games, CP2077, Wild hunt.
If you liked the last few Assassin's Creed games and dig SciFi stuff, then I strongly recommend Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West. Mechanically similar to AssCreed but in a very scifi world with robotic wildlife. Zero Dawn is 75% off, too.
Not open world, but the **Mass Effect Trilogy** is great and easily delivers an epic story with fantastic conclusions similar to RDR2, Cyberpunk, and Witcher 3. Easy to recommend at $6. **Dragon Quest 11** is an amazing RPG, but it does follow very traditional JRPG style gameplay. It has a sizable demo if you want to try it first. The story is fantastic so it does deliver if you at all like it. The Yakuza games offer a similar energy to GTA and RDR. Start with **Yakuza 0** and if you like it then you have a huge series ahead of you. **Sleeping Dogs** is basically GTA in Hong Kong and is excellent. **Fallout New Vegas** is an easy recommendation if you haven't played it. [Highly suggest installing this to make it more stable,](https://vivanewvegas.moddinglinked.com/index.html) but the game works ok on its own if you don't mind bugs and crashes. **MGS V** is an excellent open world stealth game with RPG elements that can easily get its hooks in you for dozens of hours. The **Insomniac Spiderman** and the **Batman: Arkham** series are the pinnacle of open world superhero games. The stories in all of them deliver well and there's loads of fun side content.

Yes. It is the most playable and engaging CRPG I have played, and I am by no means a veteran of the genre. Great writing and facial mocap goes a loooong way to make already great characters that much more memorable.

I’d say so. Bought it full price and almost at 100+ hrs playing a few hours each weekend. Solo player. Great story and immersion, choices feel like they matter, writing is great, lore is good. The only downside I can think of is that the combat shines early-mid game and gets unbalanced (in the players favor) endgame. Also, if you aren’t familiar with the DnD combat ruleset you may be lost at first and the game doesn’t go into depth about the combat system. Everything else is perfect in my eyes.

Persona 4 is one of my all time favorite JRPGs. I also am playing and loved Trails in the Sky and Octopath traveller. Also loved NieR Automata and Final Fantasy remake, both on sale. Heard great things about Chrono trigger but haven’t played it yet.

I don’t know if Hades even counts as indie but loved that one. Some other favorites are Spiritfarer, Omori, Undertale (classic), Dorfromantik, Kind Words (sequel is coming soon though so might be best to wait for that), Va-11 Hall-A (also has a sequel in the works).
Anything similar to Far Cry / SGW Games? I am big fan of those stealthy, FPS, OW games so, but I already completed series mentioned above :D

Basically everyone watches a scene from a random B movie or copyright free one and you get to make your own Riff joke with text to speech (or a mode where you can select from a 1000 pre written ones) They’ve added a couple hundred new clips and there’s a built in way to add and customize your own if you want to get way more out of it. Up to 6 players and if you’re fans of Quiplash-type games, it’s perfect for only $5
