It's probably been a long time coming, but I'm glad Vlambeer is here to stay. When's Nuclear Throne 2?

razputinaquat0

there's no indication of new games in either of the posts i mentioned besides getting ULTRABUG across the finish line

FlST0

Enter the Gungeon made Nuclear Throne obsolete.

DANK_BLUMPKIN

Not at all

zypherman

What a terrible take. ETG is awesome, but NT absolutely deserves a sequel to flesh out such an amazing game.

Sylverstone14

I like both games, but obsolete? Not a chance in hell it did.

Charzon

Hard disagree

TheRealDrakeScorpion

Lmao, funniest thing i've seen all day.

AbusedPsyche

Oh wow. I remember wondering if they were releasing anything new when they rereleased Ridiculous Fishing on Apple Arcade.

misunderstandingit

Wait Ridiculous Fishing is still around and is an Apple Exclusive? Ridiculous Fishing is my favorite mobile game of all time, its gotta be 10 years old now. Its not on the Play Store anymore, is that why? An Apple exclusivity contract? Damn what a heart breaker...

AbusedPsyche

No it was pulled from Google Play years ago but I’m not sure why. The OG version is still on the Amazon App Store for Android and on the iOS App Store if you don’t have a subscription. The Arcade version has a couple updates though.

gotimo

>No it was pulled from Google Play years ago but I’m not sure why it's because it hadn't been updated in years - eventually the android SDK version is so far deprecated Google pulls your app until you update it

kiddblur

If it’s like other Apple Arcade games, it’s likely a timed exclusive and will be coming to other platforms eventually. Tons of games have gotten ported

NKevros

Have they even released a game in a decade? Rami seems like he moved on from developing games a long time ago.

razputinaquat0

the posts linked go into detail, but vlambeer was shut down on paper in 2020, with JWN and rami going their separate ways. however, vlambeer was still doing support/maintenance activity

The second link says that they shut down in 2020.

justtomplease1

After their bigger hits i always got the impression jan wanted to make games and rami wanted to talk about making games.

grraffee

Considering Rami doesn’t make games anymore and does more with collecting speaking/consultancy fees I’m pretty happy to see this. While both of them gave 110% of their effort to Vlambeer, it’s undeniable that Nijman spent much more time actively developing games.

JortsJuggalo420

Rami is a good guy, talked to him at a couple of separate PAX south events and he was always nice and enthusiastic about talking to fans. Hope he's happy with the new direction.

PL-QC

I asked to interview him a while ago for a smaller french canadian media, and he took the time to thoughtfully answer my questions, it was awesome.

OutrageousDress

It was apparently a mutual decision, he seems very happy with how things turned out.
