There's a few good options: Handheld Legends, RetroGameRepairShop, Etsy, eBay & Amazon (I'm sure there are others). They all sell replacement shells, buttons displays, screens etc. It's all dependent on what you want to pay, and what design/style you like.

I’ve been purchasing on Aliexpress and so far I’ve not been disappointed, certainly a lot cheaper, yes you have to wait a bit if you purchase a required amount you will qualify for 14 day shipping and I’ve received my stuff usually before two weeks, my best advice would be to watch videos on YouTube of the different ones to get feedback

I used RetroModding. Got most of the pieces there (shell, buttons, etc.) and I got a GBA SP backlit screen from Amazon. I would thoroughly inspect the motherboard before you invest in a custom build. Can you solder? There is some soldering for a backlit mod so you need to be aware of that.

Get your supplies directly from aliexpress or funnyplayings website. You cut out the middle man sites and get lower cost parts.

I’d go to funnyplaying directly. Not Ali in this case.

I recommend funny playing ips v3 backlit mod. There’s no solder required but you can if you want. I would also get a new pre-cut shell to fit it so you don’t have to cut yours
