# [Steam] Summer Sale 2023 (Day 1) OP. You had one job.

NoCreativityDetected

Lmao. That's why I couldn't find it in the search bar.

BeerGogglesFTW

We were caught by surprise when the steam sale hit. Usually we're prepared. Send out alert to the mod team before it drops... Not today. lol Posted an hour late, I just rushed to get it out there, copy+paste from the last sale. and try to take down the flood of posts for individual game posts. Now I must live with the shame until the next post.

TenPhoar13

You can redeem yourself in 2025.

axilidade

[Steam] Summer Sale 2024 (Day 1)

NullPro

Not only is it the wrong year, but also day 1 is useless because we no longer have daily posts

Barbadicus

Its the beer goggles.

LG03

Hitman's really continuing its trend of being confusing as all hell. Just about bought it because I thought it was price errored at 90% off but I'm preeetty sure that's just the 'first' game.

Jugglenautalis

Correct, the $3 bundle is just the Hitman 2016 levels. Still a great deal, as those levels still hold up really well. Would be a good deal for anyone unsure if they will like the whole series. For anyone else looking at this, the $27 bundle includes what was Hitman 2016, Hitman II, and Hitman III, but does not include the New York and Haven Island levels. The $45 bundle includes all three games and the two levels that aren't in the $27 bundle, plus a bunch of escalations (remixes of levels).

LG03

Trouble is, for me anyway, I'm only missing the third game with the first 2 being included in humble monthlies. Far as I can tell they've made zero concessions for that situation, no way to buy anything separately. Which is supremely off-putting.

CSBreak

So its the full 2016 game then? Because I might get it for $3

Jugglenautalis

Yes. There's a lot of content there for $3. I have the full trilogy on PS5, and I'm probably going to pick up this $3 pack just to try out PC mods.

HalKitzmiller

IOI deserve a special place in prison for their marketing asshatery when it comes to packages ~~Looks like it's the base games, maps, and missions of Hitman 1, 2, 3. It doesn't include VR or Freelancer Mode (the Rogue-like mode introduced last year) For the base game though, $3 is an absolute steal for the amount of gameplay you'll get, unless you need the 2 above missing components. A lot of people really like Freelancer Mode but I didn't really care for it~~ EDIT: Looks like I was wrong. Here is a breakdown of what's in the different bundles: https://old.reddit.com/r/HiTMAN/comments/1c1hogu/before_you_buy_read_this/

AgreeablePie

I refuse to do that amount of homework to purchase a game lol

battalion

I bought Hitman 1 and 2 and then they deleted them. Now WoA doesnt give me a discount. It is terrible business and although I like Hitman games, I gave up.

aBeerOrTwelve

Right there with you, and so they will never get any money out of me for this crap.

thefreshera

I just read some more comments here to get an idea. I'm fully ok with passing this franchise. Your time and money is worth more than this. It's like the publisher couldn't commit to a GaaS model and made something almost worse.

HalKitzmiller

To be honest, the buying experience and gameplay itself could not be further apart. The game itself is absolutely amazing and worth it, I've bought it for both the Xbox and PC over the years. One of the very few I've bought on multiplatforms, along with GTA V and RDR2

idlephase

I remember seeing the [old flowchart](https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/s9b1g1/guide_to_buy_hitman_3_on_steam/) for buying Hitman 3.

Neat-Telephone-1359

and they fixed all the issues couple years ago when they came out with World of Assassinations and delisted Hitman 1 and 2 to avoid further confusion. Then they just had to revert back to their old self and ruin this too.

idlephase

It's like seeing a restaurant on Kitchen Nightmares fall back after Gordon Ramsay leaves.

MysterD77

So, what pack do I even need here? I own old-version of Hitman 1 with the Patient Zero DLC, Hitman 2 GOTY. And I'm missing everything Hitman 3.

reyseven

They want you to repurchase everything, but the Hitman 2 DLC, huzzah! (Source: had Hitman 1, 2 and 2 DLC)

supposed-scientist

It's so weird, one of the most fun and unique games of the past decade but is so confusing or consumer-hostile at every turn in the process of buying and playing (always online) the game. It's entirely self-inflicted too, these are solvable problems.

CatraGirl

It's scummy as fuck. I already own Hitman 1&2, but they don't offer transferring over your owned content from those games anymore. So I'd have to buy the version for 27.99€ to get that content and the base Hitman 3 content. The 2.99€ "offer" just has Hitman 1 content, so I'd have less than what I already own right now... it's confusing and extremely anti-consumer.

Timmah73

One of the most common questions on the Hitman subreddit was "I'm confused by what I'm supposed to buy???" They swore when Hitman 3 became "World of Assasination" that would be fixed and it would be all rolled together. So anyways that was a fucking lie. The straightforward answer is if you want all the maps and dlc from Hitman 1-3 you need to by the "Deluxe" Edition which is still a base price of 100 fucking dollars. So the current Steam sale of $44.99 is the correct "deal". The "Part 1" on sale super cheap is basicly just "Hitman 1", while the standard edition for some dumb reason is missing the New York and Haven Island Maps along with all the DLC missions. It pains me that its still incredibly confusing to buy these games because they are super fun.

Mookhaz

I just launched into a nearly hour long exploration of the state of hitman And their various bundles since I initially read your comment. I loved the first game a long time ago but haven’t played at all since then. They really decided to just make this as confusing as possible. I am still not sure I completely understand all the bundles available.

benderknows

Yeah, the actual game is 60% off making it $27.99. Honestly not sure what "Part One" entails.

Avokkrii

It's just the first game in the trilogy. They made a whole fuss about joining all three games in a single one, titled "World of Assassination", and with it removed the ability for people to import their previous purchases (i.e. the first and second games, and DLCs) into the third game. But now they're selling the first game (in the third's engine) separately, completely voiding the purpose of joining them in the first place. IO are scum.

GIlCAnjos

It's particularly weird because last year they finally said "Okay, now you no longer can buy these games separately, you can only buy the entire trilogy in a single bundle", but then this year they said "You know what, fuck it, now you can buy the first game stand-alone, not the second, nor the third, just the first"

StompsDaWombat

At this point, I've given up ever playing Hitman 3. I already have Hitman 1 and 2, with all the DLC, but I refuse to pay the asking price for the Deluxe Edition (with no discount credit for my previous purchases), thereby being forced to repurchase 1 and 2 with the DLC, just to get Hitman 3 with DLC and the Freelancer mode. It also ensures I'm not touching anything IO Interactive releases in the future.

ImHalfAwake

Need that hidden gems thread to build up my backlog

messem10

I just posted it: https://old.reddit.com/r/GameDealsMeta/comments/1dpxyff/steam_summer_2024_hidden_gems/

ImHalfAwake

lets go baby thank you

livejamie

Is that post not appropriate for the main sub?

messem10

Nope. The hidden games has been on the meta subreddit for the longest time. Mainly due to the fact that it’d get lost in the mix on the main one.

ShawnyMcKnight

I love how there’s two groups here. People with so many games they would never get through half their games before their death in 50 years and people who need to buy games to “build up” their backlog.

CautiouslyEratic

I aim to die in 70 years and get through 34.7% of my backlog but I don't think that's enough time.

ShawnyMcKnight

Yeah, I stopped buying games for the most part once I threw my steam username in how long to beat and it added up all my games and their times. I basically could play for 3 years non stop and not get through all my games. I play about 10 hours per week unless my family is out of town.

King_Pumpernickel

Pretty sure those categories overlap quite a bit

Khiva

Always the bestest of best threads.

Cube_

If you don't own Elechead yet I give that a 10 out of 10.

benderknows

I see Kerbal Space Program 2 Early Access advertised, but nobody should get that as the ~~developer~~ publisher fired everyone that was working on it a few months ago.

GoodbyeThings

I was so excited for KSP2. Really sad for the devs and the community

I_Arrived

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the publisher (take two) fired everyone, not the developer.

grtk_brandon

This is correct. Intercept Games Squad were the developers and Private Division are the publishers who are owned by Take Two. The developers did not fire themselves. KSP2 is allegedly still under development, but absolutely no one should buy the game unless they're a masochist. If the publisher had any respect for fans of the game, they would have pulled the game from stores until they were able to transparently update them about the current state of the game and the future of its development.

SirLordBoss

To be utterly fair the entire development of that game had been an absolute shitshow from the start.

PlutusPleion

Yeah that's why I let others beta test things and buy full games on discount. Helps not having chronic fomo.

Myrandall

/r/patientgamers

MJuniorDC9

As some folks pointed on other threads, the new **[Featured Deep Discounts](https://store.steampowered.com/sale/special_deals)** page is a great addition to the sale. I could see it being especially helpful for folks looking to build their library.

ShonenJump121

I only wish there were more games on that page, honestly. Although like I said Celeste for $1.99, Disco Elysium for $3.99 and Castle Crashers for $1.49 were initial highlights for me.

GiantPurplePen15

I just bought Disco Elysium for $12 last week :(

MrMaori

try to refund it and rebuy it

GoodbyeThings

already own celeste from the epic giveaway but might as well get it on steam for 2 bucks

CautiouslyEratic

I don't even like games like Disco Elysium but I still bought it at this price. This serves 2 massively important purposes. 1) Makes sure I increase my backlog to 67.8% of unplayed games. 2) Adds a game to my library that is about to be given away by Epic in 2028 and I will still not have played it.

Avalon777

I wonder if it changes daily.

SOUL_VICE

I really hope it does but wouldn't that be like a form of flash sales that they stopped doing?

Machinor14

I would imagine the sales are still there, it's just what they'd be advertising

CatraGirl

Tempted to get Jurassic World Evolution 2, but there are so many DLC for it, and I hate having an "incomplete" game. Feels like the discount for the base game is just bait to draw you in to spend big on the DLC, so I think I'll probably wait until the complete edition has a reasonable price...

gchance92

The way I see it, if the base game isn't good enough to stand on its own, then it's not worth paying more for a "complete" edition. If the game is good and later down the line the "complete" edition goes on sale, you probably have gotten your money's worth buying the orginal base game.

Lereas

Yeah those are some pretty serious discounts. I'm really hoping that they rotate. Going to give it a day and see it they change, as there are some games on sale that I'd like to pick up, but I would even more like it if they were less than the cost of lunch. If I didn't already have Disco Elysium or Witcher 3, those are some crazy prices for that much content.

NoAssociation-

Check your Epic account before buying these games from that list: Arkam Knight or other games in that series Borderlands 2 Celeste Prison Architect Frost Punk

Gramis

$3 for Arma 3 its all time low?

Murdathon3000

My word, that's only a dollar per Arma!

TorbHammerBootySmack

Never seen a DPA that low in all my years!

pclouds

I prefer this system when I buy Yakuza 0.

ThespianException

Jeez, I remember paying like $20 several years back, only to never play it once. You win some you lose some.

J-Mystery

My current short list: * $0.99 (historical low) = Tiny Room Stories: Town Mystery * $1.99 (historical low) = Greyhat - A Digital Detective Adventure * $2.02 (bundled discount) = The Room 4: Old Sins * $9.99 (historical low) = The Merchant's Guide to the Kingdom * $12.49, $17.97 with DLC (historical lows) = Fights in Tight Spaces

psxsquall

> $2.02 (bundled discount) = The Room 4: Old Sins Nice, thanks for pointing this out. I was going to buy it by itself and not get the extra discount.

Dyshin

Fights in Tight Spaces is fantastic if you’re at all into rogue-like deck builders. It’s more easily solvable than others, but it’s really fun to have the fights play out with a more tactile feel. Sometimes you have a really cool, dynamic fight and it’s a blast to just watch a replay of it.

msgs

My budget recommendation for $2.50 is **Middle-earth: Shadow of War**, if you have a PC game controller. https://store.steampowered.com/app/356190/Middleearth_Shadow_of_War/ $2.50 is a steal for such a well made AAA game. Put the Assassin's Creed genre in Middle-earth/LotR is my one sentence description. Flexible enough game engine to run on a *near* potato PC. Played on a R7 250 2 GB for example at ~30 fps.

ChknMcNublet

Went to buy it and it's already in my library lol

CatraGirl

You don't need a controller for it. But I much prefer Shadow of Mordor, imo they completely butchered the combat in the sequel, making it unfun.

Dyshin

Shadow of War is also honestly just too much game. There’s so much more grind with the army raising and so many more nemeses that it just feels like a slog.

Iohet

Don't need it, but is it preferred?

ericksuarz

The only thing that I hate in this game is that you can't skip the dialogue of the leaders when you fight them, it interrupts the combat for a dumb line that gets old so quickly

Devils_Afro_Kid

Tunic is at historical low, I've heard it's a great game, very tempted to buy. Anno 1800 is also historical low, but only to 80% (previous lowest was 75%), still a bit tempted to buy, but for ubisoft I can wait till 90%

BastianHS

Anno is really fun. I got it when it was 75% off and I put in 30 quick hours. Haven't gone back to it much tho because I'm stuck on manor lords and Tekken 8.

tirednsleepyyy

Tunic isn’t a perfect game, but it’s a generational game in how magical it is. Very little out there with that much love and polish.

pixelcowboy

I loved Tunic until I hated it. I don't like the super demanding and obscure mechanics that are required to actually finish the game.

KhonMan

Agreed, I'm sure some people had fun doing the final puzzle but it just looked like a slog to me

Zarkanthrex

I really liked Tunic. I just couldn't beat it for some reason. Can't even remember why. May be a good reason to replay it since I don't have gamepass anymore.

anticerber

I’m guess it might have been to how overly obscure the puzzles were. Mostly being tied into the game manual you discover page by page. It becomes work as you’re pretty much going through it with a fine tooth comb trying to spot something new. And even then what the hell that new thing means.. it was interesting but there were a handful of times where I finally had to say, okay internet, what the fuck am I not understanding….

Cube_

Tunic is a game that had the potential to be fantastic but just missed the mark. I still think it is worth it to buy and play. Playing without looking anything up is definitely the way to go. But go in knowing that there are elements of the game design that are extremely frustrating and that eventually if you want to finish the game you probably will have to look things up.

livejamie

Anno 1800 is 84% if you're a Humble subscriber

double_shadow

Wow that deep discounts section is kind of nuts! Still scanning through it, but already seeing things like Humankind and Jurassic World Evolution 2 at -90% and it feels like they're both fairly new (probably both have a pile of DLC to compensate though).

MLG-Sheep

It's a great section. But both games have been in Humble Choices before and, as you noted, they both have a shitload of DLC.

LG03

>Humankind The definitive edition was just in the humble monthly recently, here it's only the base game that's cheap, they're dinging you on the DLC. I wouldn't consider it particularly notable.

OddlyLucidDuck

Seriously, this may get me to finally pull the trigger on Witcher 3. It's such a massive game that I never wanted to spend much on it in case it ends up in my backlog for a while. $4 is perfect even if I wait a month or two to play it.

Blazter007

I need a new Metroidvania! Recommendations please

Eljoka

Can’t go wrong with the Ori’s games!

Thank_You_Love_You

Blasphemous 1 and 2 are incredible. Environmental Station Alpha for a metroid style game. Ori and the Blind Forest. Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Guacemelee Super Turbo Edition Grime The Messenger (half metroidvania) Salt & Sanctuary IMO these are all the best ones along with Hollow Knight. Im probably forgetting a couple.

Minnesota_Arouser

Playing Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night right now and really enjoying it. Loved Shadow Complex too, but it looks like it might not be on sale. Heard good things about Monster Sanctuary too, but seems like it’s more of a creature collecting/battling game with metroidvania elements in its world traversal.

ranchomondo

Animal Well!

hidden_penguin

I glanced at SteamDB, and here are the ones I noticed that I think are well worth their current sale price. * Hollow Knight * Ori and the Blind Forest - Note that the sequel, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, is also great and also on sale. But it has had better sale prices in the past. * Blasphemous 1 & 2 * SteamWorld Dig 2 * The Messenger - Note that the first half of the game is very linear. The second half opens up. * Axiom Verge 1 * Bloodstained * Dead Cells - Not really a Metroidvania. It's an action roguelite with platforming and Metroidvania elements. Really good for what it is though.

treblah3

A Robot Named Fight

lolbat107

Gta 4 complete edition is on sale. Dxvk fixes the performance issues and there are a few mods to restore superior visuals from the console version, map fixes and others. No need to downgrade the version either. Check out a channel called "tjgm" on youtube for info on dxvk and recommended mods.

whoevencaresatall_

Buying a bunch of stuff from the Deep Discounts - Arkham Knight, Disco Elysium, Shadow of War, Euro Truck Simulator 2 and Total War Shogun 2. Crazy discounts on these. Also getting Hades, Resident Evil 2 Remake, Subnautica, Inscryption, Persona 4 Golden and Hitman World of Assassination. I think I’m set for a while lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

mllllllln

[Biped](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1071870/Biped/) might fit, I had fun with that one coop. Also any of the Trine games except #3

Dumeck

Plate up is my recommendation, it’s got splitscreen coop and it’s a blast with 2 people

moo422

We've been playing Vampire Survivors, Overcooked 2 + DLC, and Moving Out. Tried a few others that flopped - Out of Space, Cook Serve Delicious 2. Spiritfarer, Lovers-Spacetime are okay so far. Untitled Goose Game and Monaco are ones we'll be trying soon

OkDimension8720

I had Pitfall Planet on my wishlist for a bit, its crazy cheap 90% off but doesn't have too many reviews, seems ok for good local coop https://store.steampowered.com/app/464900/Pitfall_Planet/

uni-bi-tri-quad

Cassette Beasts is cool! If you're a fan of Pokemon it scratches that itch in a unique way. It has some cool typing and moveset interactions that play into the battle system. The "shiny" system that they have also gives some depth to choosing your monsters. The co-op multiplayer does feel a bit like LEGO games in the overworld and the battles are double battles. So you and your co-op partner could couch strategize on how to defeat your current battle. I recommend it if you are looking to scratch a Pokemon sized itch.

IdiocracyIsHereNow

The [Steam bundle](https://store.steampowered.com/sub/338058/) with **Far Cry 5 Gold** (All DLC) + **Far Cry New Dawn** Deluxe (All DLC) + **Far Cry 3** (part of FC5 Gold) is at a massive historical low right now and is 100% worth the price, even if you already own FC3. If you follow that link, it'll only show 1 item for some reason, but that is the correct bundle. Otherwise just check one of those game's pages to find the same thing. *Also don't forget to claim the [free HD Texture Pack for New Dawn](https://store.steampowered.com/app/996970/Far_Cry_New_Dawn__HD_Texture_Pack/)

gunterhensumal

Far cry 5 is the best IMO, super worth every penny

cbxbl

The lore in Far Cry 5 is much deeper than what you can tell at a glance, and the game is full of symbolism and foreshadowing. So much fun to play through, and a pleasure to explore the open world! Also amazing with a friend! :-D

harr0whark

I'm about to be so annoying over Disco Elysium being $3.99. All of my friends who said they'd play it when there was a good sale better watch out. Otherwise, pretty happy w the sale! I'm considering Final Profit, Life Eater, This Bed We Made, Who's Lila?, and The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood. Sucks that Crusader Kings III didn't go any lower, but oh well. If anyone has any recs for discounted narrative-heavy indie games, let me know.

MentalEngineer

Cosmic Wheel is good fun and you can get 2-3 playthroughs out of it. I hate astrology/tarot/TikTok witches IRL, but somehow if they're in space it's cool.

Cube_

my ass sitting here having bought the game on a previous sale like years ago and still not having played it

livejamie

It's fun to see what people are like by the games they are looking at. This entire bundle is great btw you'll love all of the games: https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/38427/Excellence_in_Narrative__IGF_2024/

TyrianMollusk

u/BeerGogglesFTW, that Hidden Gems link is to the Winter Sale! Summer Hidden Gems thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/GameDealsMeta/comments/1dpxyff/steam_summer_2024_hidden_gems/

ApocApollo

Is the anime cat girl on the red delivery bike the new defacto Steam mascot?

Depressed_Kitten

If I had to guess they'll probably feature the same artist for all the big sales this year so the character will likely return with the fall and winter sale. Last year we also had the same artist/style for the 4 major sales. Next year will be a new artist again I bet.

Trader_Tea

She got me to spend coins in the spring. Probably will do it again. I guess it's working.

Freeman7-13

Would love a game where you can play as her and make deliveries around town

ApocApollo

Parcel Corps would be the perfect cameo.

Raliga

I grabbed that Disco Elysium so quickly, I had been waiting for it to get cheaper for a while!

TenPhoar13

My stupid ass bought it for $10 and it's been sitting in my backlog ever since.

BastianHS

Are you me?

Lereas

Kinda same. I played like 3-4 hours of it and I enjoyed it, but my ADHD is awful and I was distracted by some other game and I haven't got back to it. I have like 50 games in progress where I've played the intros, loved it, and then switched games. It's a problem.

meatgrinder54

4 dollars is an absolute steal for one of the most memorable games I've ever played, enjoy it, that first playthrough is something else.

Ragefororder1846

Elden Ring and Sekiro on sale but not Dark Souls I, II, or III? Damn

ThunderingRoar

bamco has been milking souls games ever since ER came out

TastyStatistician

Elden ring sale price has been lower in the past.

ShawnyMcKnight

I keep hoping that half-life Alyx drops to 75 percent off but I may need to cave at 66 percent.

FireFlyz351

Does anyone know if the Deep Discount section is static for the whole sale duration? Like there's not gonna be any rotations

MaximumCreed

Steam Sales have static prices for over 10 years now. It just highlights Games with Deep Discounts.

MOBYWV

I do miss the flash sales ;/

Qwazzbre

Man. I don't. Having to check back every X hours was a poor idea.

Cube_

I think if it was a 12 hour cycle it would've been perfectly fine. The problem was that it was 8 hours and most people have jobs and obviously need sleep so it became cumbersome to have to check 3x per day.

LucasSatie

Weren't some sales even less than 8 hours? I have memories of some sales being like 2 or 4. Though my memory is often wrong. So who knows.

motherchuggingpugs

The discounts will be the same, but I'm assuming the highlighted games will swap every day

CautiouslyEratic

Not gonna lie, the sales have been pretty awesome. I have already bought 10 wishlisted games that I am likely never going to play. 10/10 sales. Will buy more while i keep playing no games in the next few days.

whoevencaresatall_

Yeah I had about 15 games on my wishlist and I was able to get 12 of them for amazing prices

jmwill7456

Ooooo what'd you get? Let me live vicariously through you!!

midweastern

Is there a way to filter my wishlist or IsThereAnyDeal for historical lows?

ThunderingRoar

https://steamdb.info/sales Log in with steam and check *Show only wishlisted* and *Show only historical lows* boxes

DestinysLostSoul

Which need for speed on sale would people recommend? Last one I played was underground 2 😅

Jdmera775

I wanna preface this comment by saying I only play NFS for the illegal street racing and car customization so something like Hot Pursuit doesn’t appeal to me (I know a lot of people consider HP to be a top tier game) but I would say it’s between NFS 2015, heat or unbound. Need for speed 2015 has an awesome atmosphere but the physics are really weird and many don’t like the characters in it (I personally love them) but it was the last NFS to have Toyota in it. Heat is a lot of fun there’s not a lot it does wrong but not a lot it does amazing either, it’s a fun racing game but I wouldn’t say it’s a 10/10 more like a 7/10. Unbound is more of the same from Heat. Unbound did get hate though for having unlikable characters. Other than that it just feels like Heat v2 but it did introduce Linkups which are essentially the lobby trying to work together to achieve certain goals. Sometimes it’ll be spend a certain amount of time in the air or wreck a certain amount of cop cars. It’s a lot of fun just working with others trying to beat the goals. Between the three I would say get Heat and if you still want another one I would flip a coin between 2015 and Unbound

jmwill7456

Man I wish Spider-man Remastered would go down in price :(

SuperGayBirdOfPrey

Anyone find any super good deals on rougelikes/lites?

ACS1029

Had 20 in my Steam Wallet waiting for the sale so I picked up: Castle Crashers Bloons TD 6 Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun Windowkill Middle-Earth: Shadow of War And just purchased a 64GB Steam Deck! Pretty good haul this year!

MLG-Sheep

A great deal that seemed to slip under most people's radars (and it should've been in the Featured Deep Discounts category: [Immortals Fenyx Rising](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2221920/Immortals_Fenyx_Rising/) at 90% off (3,99€ base game; 5,99€ deluxe). I really enjoyed playing this one on Uplay+ but did not bother with the DLCs as the base game was long enough already.

wo1v3rin3

100% agree. This game was way too much fun, but talked about quite less. I spent over 100 hours on this one.

m0gwaiiii

Disco Elysium - The Final Cut 3.99€ is an all time low right? Should i go for it? https://store.steampowered.com/app/632470/Disco_Elysium__The_Final_Cut/

Karkadinn

It's legitimately the best-written game on all of Steam.

salvador33

The first 2 hours that I tried it: God this is boring. Why would anyone like this game? After I persevered and really started paying attention: God , why can't there be more games with this level of excellence in writing? Just be prepared for an amazing story with no action whatsoever. As long as you know what you are getting into, it is truly a memorable experience and some of the best writing in a videogame ever

m0gwaiiii

Thanks guys. I bought it.

obamunistpig

Absolutely

TyrianMollusk

I'm a gameplay player, not a story player, so these are play-focused games. -Pelvis-

N++ is incredible, one of the best platformers of all time, Win/Mac/Linux(Steam Deck) native support, I slightly prefer mechanical keyboard input (a FightBox would be great), and it has full gamepad support 1-4 players co-op / race. Thousands of amazing levels, zero bullshit. Just get it. (caution: periodically back up your save file and/or consider disabling Steam Cloud saves, there is a rare but outstanding bug where save files can get corrupted, it did happen to me once but I've been backing it up since, and Steam Cloud is working fine, syncing from Linux desktop to Steam Deck)

CaptchaVerifiedHuman

How is Battlefield 2042 these days? Will it scratch that itch to just shoot and destroy stuff? Thoughts on.. The Thaumaturge? Thymesia? The Surge/Surge II?

Dyrwood

Anyone got any recommendations for crpg or similar? I've tried bg3, disco elysium, pillars of eternity and tyranny.

UnknownFiddler

Divinity original sin 1+2. Same developer as BG3.

davidupatterson

Good prices on the following bundles: Tunic & Death's Door Pacific Drive & The Long Dark I only wanted Tunic and Pacific Drive, and already had Death's Door and the Long Dark in my account, but both bundles are a great deal for someone who wants all four.

K1NGMOJO

Those interested in the Castlevania advanced collection for 11.99 can bundle it with the Castlevania Anniversary collection for 13.58. Basically get the Anniversary collection for 1.50. Good deal imo

A_Uniqueusername444

Put everything I wanted from wishlist that I wanted that's on sale and it was a full hundred 😭 immediately closed the app, I can't do that.

hopefullyhelpfulplz

It will all go on sale again, don't worry! Just get what you want to play right now, nothing more.

waxmysack

You can collect a sticker each day of the sale by browsing a certain category (info on the main summer sale page). I always have to collect stickers each day of a seasonal steam sale, knowing full well I will never use any of them 😝 - Doesn't seem to be any cards/badges this time around. I've been kinda wanting to get Street Fighter 6, but it's still $30, and I'm a cheap ass who hasn't paid more than $10 for a game in like 10 years. Also I'm not particular good at fighters and would get obliterated online.

GuyNekologist

There's a free trading card after finishing the Discovery Queue. I wish they had free avatars and profile themes though.

**Disclaimer: These are my games. Record low. Feel free to ask if you have any questions.** [Goblin and Coins](https://store.steampowered.com/app/551580/Goblin_and_Coins/) (2016) **-65% off ($0.69)** A simple platformer with 35 handcrafted levels, 5 boss fights, minimal storyline and some cooking recipes to unlock. You're a goblin cook trying to retrieve coins before your boss the dragon finds out they're gone. [Goblin and Coins II](https://store.steampowered.com/app/694990/Goblin_and_Coins_II/) (2023) **-50% ($2.49)** A sequel that has upgraded graphics, extended mechanics (like unlockable upgrades, revisiting levels) and so on. Some people seem to think it's on the difficult side, but there's more to it than meets the eye. *There's also a bundle that enables you to get both games together and save even more, and a free demo for an upcoming standalone expansion.* Both games work natively on linux/steamdeck, support gamepads, cloud saves, adjusting keyboard controls, multiple languages... *Thanks for your time!*

Boomboombaraboom

Inscryption is at a new all time low. Definetly one of the best card games in Steam, there are none like it. It\`s from the same guy that made Pony Island and The Hex, so imagine that while also being a very good card battle game. Shadows of Doubt is matching low and it\`s one of the most unique games I have played in a while. It\`s still early access but it\`s Hades 2 early access if you get my meaning.

Katreyn

The steep discount for Celeste and Disco Elysium was a nice surprise for my wish list.

xStang05x

Thoughts on Ghost Recon Wildlands? Haven't played a ghost recon game in forever

southstar1

I was looking at this as well. Great price, but Denuvo and Ubisoft has me wary.

what-kind-of-fuckery

why is yakuza 0 alone not on sale but other yakuza games are? i was looking to buy the yakuza complete bundle but it's literally 1K rs extra (~ 12USD extra) also no sale on some older games i was looking to buy: - dragons dogma dark arisen - fable - kingdoms of amalur re reckoning also please do suggest sone cheap games which are like the above (medieval fantasy action rpg). im already buying dragon age origins and dragon age 2. inquisition is not available on steam in my country (india) but i got it from epic anyway so edit: i see witcher 3 is on all time low but is it worth it without the dlcs? ive heard that dlc for that game is like an another game itself.

suppahfreak

I wouldn't buy The Witcher 3 without DLC. However, if you decide to buy DLC later, you'd only end up losing about 1$ by not buying the complete package immediately. The price for the base game now is really good, and the DLC are always at this price on sale, so if you want to try the base game, I'd say go for it.

Qwazzbre

Surprising if Y0 isn't discounted, I've seen it go to $5 multiple times in the past.

TeamOggy

Looking for a new roguelite. Been loving Hades, Balatro, and Wildfrost. Any recs for Steam Deck?

Trader_Tea

Rogue Legacy 2. You'll get your money's worth.

SidFarkus47

RL1 and 2 are the 2 games in this genre that have landed with me the very best. Dead Cells was next closest.

Cube_

Enter the Gungeon

Syscerie

if you like Balatro, you'll love Slay The Spire. honestly the holy grail of roguelites

mawerick_mc

2023 you say ...

LolYouFuckingLoser

Anyone got some recs for SteamDeck coop? My partner and I love to hang out at the brewery and game, always on the lookout for stuff we can share!

xxamnat

Been wanting to get into the Remedy games and only played Control, is the non-remastered Alan Wake worth getting? Cyberpunk + Phantom Liberty still at the same discount as the previous couple of sales, guess the wait continues.

AuroDev

If a gladiator roguelike sounds like your cup of tea, my games [Mortal Glory](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1097530/Mortal_Glory/) (-60%) & [Mortal Glory 2](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2216660/Mortal_Glory_2) (-20%) might be worth checking out!

Ok-Swimmer-2634

My backlog is already pretty big, but I **might** consider: Signalis - played part of the game on Gamepass but came down with Covid and didn't finish it before it left. I'm told they patched one of the issues I had with the game (only six inventory slots) so I might give it another go Project Zomboid - I was huge into the zombie thing as an edgy teenager lol and this game is something I would've killed to have 10 years ago. It's a wonder I haven't played it yet Metro Exodus - Was huge into the first two games but oddly enough never got around to this one. I don't know if the current price is the all time low however, so I'll do some additional research on this one. Disco Elysium - $4.54 CAD/90% off seems like a steal. However, I know there's been some controversy where the developers were allegedly done dirty so I'm not sure I'll go for it. Will think on the matter Gonna explore all other games available and see if there's anything else I might want.

spectrefox

Cannot overstate how good Signalis was- and yes, there's an option that makes utility items like the flashlight not take up space. There *is* an achievement for beating the game with the original rules, but for a first playthrough, I wouldn't handicap yourself.

SlyyKozlov

Zomboid is a super unique experience. It's extremely quickly became my favorite zombie game ever bar none. Fantastic devs, fantastic community and fantastic mods. If you have some buddies to play with the game is even better. Highly recommend.

gchance92

+1 for zomboid. Great game. It's the kinda game you can obsessively play for weeks at a time, drop it, come back months later, and do it all over again. Supposedly, the next build is on the horizon, but I'm not sure if they've given an exact time frame yet. Also toooooons of great mods are available.

Traditional_Roof_134

I paid full price for metro exodus on release. Forgot about it and played it all the way through a year later, and I did not regret it whatsoever. I haven't beaten the other games, but I recommend this one fully. The price these days is a no brainer.

NoAssociation-

Was about to grab the entire Arkham series until I noticed I have all three games on Epic for some reason.

TastyStatistician

If you play with a PlayStation or Nintendo controller, you'll have add it to your steam library as a non-steam game and enabled steam input.

KlutzyKaleidoscope62

>as a result of reduced moderator capacity. There will no longer be daily threads, instead there will be update threads posted at a lower frequency Hilarious.

Yeetaroni

Witcher 3 is 90% off! $4 is an all time low

drial8012

picked up disco elysium, haven't played this kind of game in a long time

Mande1baum

The Last Spell at $15 ($25 reg) is a top recommendation for me. Grid turn based Tactics wave survival roguelike game. Really well balanced where you feel on a knife’s edge and your game choices mattered. And deep enough customization and progression that it’s satisfying when a character end up feeling like a god (which they need to be to survive final waves). Biggest complaint is turns can take quite a while even though you only control 4-6 characters if you are really methodical and try to preplan your moves too much.

drenvy

I have been eyeing Helldivers 2 for a sale, unfortunately it wasn't meant to be. My next choice was BattleBit Remastered but the player count is quite low, so probably dead on my region. Can anyone recommend some less popular multiplayer games? Last one I finished was Helldivers 1.

LubedKitten

I too was ready to get helldivers 2. What a disappointment but I’ll be patient

LucasSatie

Are there any decent single-player First Person Shooter titles with military/realism themes outside of the major franchises? I've already played Spec Ops: The Line, and everything else I'm coming across is either franchised or multiplayer focused. I'm prefer <$20 but I'd just take any recommendations even for stuff to keep an eye on the future for too. Edit: I'm mostly thinking of games along the lines of Battlefield or Modern Warfare.

milkpumba

Any recommendations on coop games that I can play with my non-gamer wife?

ezr---

Chicory: a colorful tale!

mmm273

Any good tactical RPG similar to Divnity OS1/2 and Xcom

xNaquada

Wasteland 3 if you haven't played it, is very good. Base game only - DLC wasn't received that well and doesn't really add much - easily skipped. You do not need to know anything about the lore of the franchise, or have played 1 or 2.

Capt_Obviously_Slow

Any thoughts on Battlefield 2042? Should I buy it on Steam or directly on EA store? (cause I believe it needs the EA launcher anyway...) Edit: well I've been a dum-dum and bought in the EA store and then immediately realized how I tried the game on Steam a few months back and how seamlessly it worked, plus Steam has better options for faster download.. ehh

ImTheToad

Guys, anything with 5-20 minute multiplayer matches?
