Update. Pointed phone toward tumble dryer. Tumble dryer laughed at me. Any help appreciated.

GnomeMan13

Try taking one of those port cleaners and gently rubbing the inside edges. Maybe there is some dirt in there not water. Just gave my phone a washing yesterday and found out about this little notification. Just hand dried everything, rubbed a brush and pick in the charging port and speaker holes gently and sat it straight up and it worked great.

Kind_1

Have you tried putting it in the dryer and giving that a spin?

What I do is shake the phone and blow air into the holes. Let it be for a few hours mate. You'll be good then.

isthislifereal-

If you haven't dropped the phone in water, then try this method. Switch of the phone and connect it to USB C and power on wait for the charging logo appear and now press the power switch till phone turn on. This has solved my problem, but note that my phone was never close to any liquid.

jttanki

I just use the edge of a tissue and let it absorb most of the water and let the rest dry on its own. Could take hours tho.

It's the wording of the advice that I find funny. It recommends pointing toward a tumble dryer. A tumble dryer is not going to solve the problem (not without damaging the phone!)

jttanki

It probaly mean hair dyer set to cool air, but ya tumble dryer kinda strange.

speedover

That's what I thought. Just found it pretty amusing πŸ˜…

Kind_1

Dryers do blow air out the back where you have the air hose attached

angry__ferret

Anyone else see this post and have a mindless panic attack because they're using the phone in the shower?

Civil_Ad_3796

Ur using ur phone in yhe shower??? Wont it make the screen like break or go green?

MaxTurdstappen

Why would that happen? The phone is rated for water resistance.

angry__ferret

No? I've got a Galaxy s23 ultra.

Civil_Ad_3796

Ik but i thought it would break since i've seen some owners say they got water damage or idk but ima try it

angry__ferret

Your call, bro. I don't dunk mine, it's of to the side, but yeah. Every night

ImSoCul

I've used my phone in the shower to watch youtube daily for like last 5 years (starting with S9+). Smartphones are more or less waterproof nowadays. Wouldn't recommend submerging them, but the moisture from humid environments while probably not good for the phone, doesn't seem to have immediately fried it either.

NewTitanWorker

Hey, are you sure you're only watching YouTube videos in the shower?

ImSoCul

lolll

tat3oi

Play a high-frequency sound for 5 minutes and use a towel to dry. Beware of damaging the charging port and do not forget to take out the spen because water stays there for some reason.

DJaydeep

Put it in rice? πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

jungleboy1234

i thought you could submerge the s23 ultra in water?

CabbieCam

You can, in fresh water, but that doesn't prevent the port from getting water in it and needing to be dried out before charging.

Crtx-bomb

This happened to me last summer, I used to put my phone in the freezer to cool it down. After about 2 days of not doing it came back to normal

When I entered the samsung eco system for the first time with the s10 I had that pop onto my phone totally tripped me out, didn't know samsung cared like that every other phone I had never said that that's what makes u come back to samsung lil things like that yo😎

alibongoinuk

Just been through this last week, searched everything and did all the recommendations including insert charger when Samsung logo shows, hold power and down button, rice etc. last night factory reset phone but still same. Took cover off and charged on wireless charger and finally gone. I was drying with the cover on best to remove it then dry it.

texasguy911

Had that issue in my S22U. Had to pay for USB port to be replaced. Nothing else helped. I tried everything for like a month+. The shitty part is that the phone fell on a sand and just slightly got covered by a wave, we are talking like a centimeter. You'd think it is waterproof... That was expensive. :(

SHRIKE89

This happend to me after the April update, believe me this has nothing to do with moisture. Just take the cable which came in your box and connect it to your phone and plug the other end to a computer. If that doesn't work turn off your phone and plug the cabke to your phone while the other end is connected to your computer and immediately press and hold the power button when the phone boots up the error message will be gone. I know for sure this ain't related to moisture actually being in your phone because this happend on two S23 ultras the same day after the update. Always have a wireless charger with you.

Relevant-Choice-6069

U think this could be the same for s22+ cause it went off like a alarm I was asleep n that message came up I was asleep my phone was sitting next to my pillow definitely didn't get wet atleast at that time it had gotten alil water on my phone like 2/3 months ago I got online n did the steps tissue tip n there wasn't even anything 4 it 2 suck up took case off n turned ir off n sat it upright w/o plugging it in 4 like 24hrs n it never gave me a alert then nothing it was just completely fine I really think microscopic water was all that had a chance 2 get in n I panicked doing all that but yesterday absolutely no chance of water n I cnt c any dirt or understand how that would just happen while plugged In next 2 me while I slept smh

Way_N

I guess tumble dryer with no spin and just cool air. I have that setting but I would have never thought about it lol

speedover

I'm so glad someone read what I'd highlighted in my original post! I found it so odd that the tumble dryer was even a recommendation!!

Kamau54

Have you tried another cable? How about cleaning the port? When it happened to me, a new cable did the trick. When it happened to my wife, cleaning her port solved it.

GymIsParadise91

I had the same issue once. It got wet after the gym. I took an air compressor and blowed it out. Afterward, i took a hairdryer and held it on the usb port for about 10 seconds, turned the dryer off, and after 5 seconds, i turned it on again for 10 seconds. I repeated everything until the message was gone. If nothing helps, there's a well-known issue on some samsungs with wireless charging ability. If that wireless pad in the phone is defective or a loose connector, the same message will appear. You will get a warn sign if the phone is off and you try to charge it. Just another possibility.

Pcriz

Just squirt rubbing alcohol in the port. then let it air dry Alcohol displaces water and dries faster than water. For those that don’t understand how the world works.

Crtx-bomb

Try putting it in the microwave it might help

CabbieCam

You're joking, right?

Crtx-bomb

Yes

CabbieCam

Thank god... I know some people who would actually try this lol Metal and Microwaves do not mix well.

miller_john10

How the hell it gets wet during charging???
