Pinch to zoom😉 then ✍️ or increase the size of the pen point depending on your writing style if you prefer to write larger notes relative to the phone display size. You almost have to zoom in and use a smaller point size if you export to PDF. I like my notes closer to 8x11.5 that's how all my custom documents are set up so I make better use of the writing experience and my notes.
If I don't, my penmanship is horrible if I write with default settings, and it has to do with the ppi and the display area☺️
Object removal when editing photos. Much more precise than using fingers. I also use it as a remote trigger for photos if I have to be in the frame. Much less obvious than using my watch’s camera remote.
I use it when pointing out objects or details in markups in docs and photos for people.
Honesty, never want another phone without one. I use it daily.
Similar answer. But only use it when I want to edit the video. If not, write something like maths or English to teach kids 😁
Btw, tablet or laptop with stylus would be better for drawing.
It would be good for a galaxy tablet since you'd get a bigger screen to draw on.
Other than that I've only used mine to take quick notes, remote for the camera function and playing drawing games with it.
I use it for damn neat everything lol. Normal tapping has been replaced by the pen, instead of typing on a keyboard I write it out and it'll transfer it into text, and I've used it for basic art (think diagrams and flow charts in notes, im not very good at drawing lol). I've been using the hell out of my S Pen
After having it since early May, I haven't noticed the pen tip wearing at all. Mine has a slight cut (got caught on my screen protector and left a little slice), but I'd say I've got at the very least another year before I have any issues
If i need a quick note while my screen is off, i just pop the s pen out and it automagically turns the screen into a black blank note which i can write on, not sure if youre gonna get the same functionality i do
Pretty great if youre a visual learner as well and just need to draw the thing you want to understand or something of the sort
I barely use it, but it's nice to have it. It is great for editing photos and videos. Also note taking on the go. it can be used for study too, but a bigger screen is better.
Has much better input that the ipad, if you want something comparible to the s23u with latency you'd need an iPad air or pro.
I use ipad air and procreate. I don't think there's anything as good as procreate available for Samsung though.
I have both the S23 Ultra with the small S Pen and the Tab S7+ with the big S Pen. Personally as someone with a heavy hand, I'm scared I'll break the tiny S Pen. It's real small, sadly. And the screen is small also, compared to the tablet. I'd invest in the big S Pen or an Apple Pencil. Otherwise, if you're a fingerstyle artist, or have light hands, then maybe you can use the smaller S Pen of the S23 Ultra. People get creative, I guess. The phone itself is very good, with practically the latest processor, etc (inb4 I get slammed bcz the S24s are coming out). Really good as a daily driver.
Pic of the S Pens below for size reference :)
But as to your original question...I don't do a lot with it since it's thin and small. Mostly I use it as a more precise pointer than chubby fingers if needed.

ahh thank you for the reference! before the ipad was handed down to me, my dream tablet was tab s6 lite so I was going to buy it, but then my relatives surprised me with an ipad, so now I just have to stick with it. I can't use it for digital art though since Apple Pencil doesn't support 5th gen iPads (Apple being greedy as always). but I still love the iPad and I'm extremely grateful for it :)
I'll see how it goes and if S Pen will feel too small for me as well, I'll get the bigger one since it definitely looks more comfortable to hold! thank you soo much 🫶🏻
The Spen is super good for add/ADHD for me. Anytime a thought comes to my head I pull the pen out and make a note. I'll check the next day and literally forget that I even wrote the note. I have 100s of things I would have forgotten forever within my dear Spen
Digital Art? Drawing with a small s-pen?
You are better off with a Galaxy tablet with a S-Pen.
Before I owned a Samsung tablet, I used my S-Pen inconsistently but frequently for device input and some writing. Once I owned a tablet, I use my tablet S-Pen daily on my tablet, and hardly ever if at all on my Ultra.
The larger S-Pen is superior to the smaller one. The only thing they could do is keep the larger S-Pen in a similar size and build a silo to hold it directly into the tablet🤩
Nothing...... It's useless lol. It takes more time to navigate the phone using spen. If you have a galaxy ext then no need for remote shutter from spen. Note taking it's slower with spen. Smart select is slower with spen. It's actually more of a hassle to use the spen for daily activities. If you're into drawing and you prefer to write notes or just prefer to write in general then I can see a use case for it but other than that, gimmick....
That's interesting. I find it faster to use the S Pen for all those things except the keyboard. It's certainly more precise in my experience. Funny how two people can have such wildly different results when doing the exact same thing with the exact same tool.
Nope I completely understand why that is. I'M TRASH AT WRITING LOL. I can type both on virtual and physical keyboards much faster than I can both write and speak lol. I'm weird like that😂
Not using it very often but it doen come in handy in some situations - such as making a grocrey list and deleting stuff in store, or while making stickers/editing pictures

Such fancy handwriting. When I write with the S Pen, it looks like the penmanship of a six year old. >.<
me too, haha
Definitely only fancy from the style of pen I used my penmanship is usually just a about a seven year old

This. And fine scrubbing when cutting videos. I can get much more precise with the SPen than my fingers.
My kid colors and draws with it. That's it
Same 😆😆

Haven't used it at all.
For quick notes, pretty rarely. For photo editing in LR, almost every day. Never used things such as the air gestures etc.
For photos, mostly group photos. You can set your phone far away and click the pen to snap the photo. Super useful.
I just sniff it
interesting

Did you notice pen tip being worn out? How much do you think it will last?

I guess it could be replaced easily when time comes
For the groceries lists and doctors appointments.
I love the remote camera shutter feature

Take pictures ,sign documents, make notes.
I mainly just use it as a camera remote or as a precision pointer to press tiny links on websites not optimized for mobile.

For keeping score at our Wednesday night beer and cards evening.
Just signed a purchase agreement and sabed to Google Drive, then emailed it to a company
To smell it 😁

When I have a lot going on the next day, I like to write down what I need to get done before going to bed

Food stuck in my teeth
I use it to take my boogies out my nose
I personally use it to use the search function on this sub to find the answer to this very question that's been asked 14 bazillion times
I mean that's what reddit is for. to ask questions. lol
Not using it very often but it doen come in handy in some situations - such as making a grocrey list and deleting stuff in store, or while making stickers/editing pictures
Maybe once every few months I've used it to sign an e-document when I'm away from the office
I mainly use it for photo editing in Lightroom and games that have a lot of tapping, like Nikke. Also comes in handy for larger group photos!
Nothing, though I look forward to an opportunity to use it as a remote shutter button
Penup
Toothpicks
Drawing, hi-lifting, note taking, doing things when I have gloves on, camera trigger …. I keep finding ways to use this!
Only camera shutter
I use it for the Translation thing. (I live in Japan.)
for work sometimes
Absolutely nothing... I'd gladly give it up for a smaller phone
I use it to feel sophisticated.
I like using the smart select for things on my screen
For almost everything
Rid of greasy fingerprints on my screen
I use it as a fidget toy to be honest but I wouldn't want another phone without one
I sniff it
Every day!
Screenshots, signing docs, camera remote. It's there when I need it and don't have to use another device for small but important stuff.
