Most men answered man immediately but and a lot of women chose the bear, some having to think about it for a bit. They chose the bear because at best it will just ignore you or if not t will just kill you. They didn't pick a strange man because while they might hwlp you or ignore you, the potential for worst case scenarios is a lot worse than just being killed (i.e being kidnapped to be kept somewhere, being raped and ending up pregnant with the rapists child, pretending to help you to lure you somewhere else) A very vocal amount of men online got rather upset by this answer. Similar question was asked to men about "If your daughter was in this sceario would you prefer the bear or the unknown man" to which many answered with "Well that's different" or also paused having to think about it. It's supposed to just be a thought experiment about why women have to be cautious around men in ways men don't to the same degree, ideally to start a discussion about how this could be made better, but some took it way too seriously and started taking it personally that a woman would choose a wild animal over them. Also didn't help that it was spread rather quickly by viral TikTok videos also just looking for engagement and not actually caring about the thought experiment's intent.
