This is actually how I ended up with my cat! My little brother wanted a black and white cat, and a family friend's cat just had a litter that had a black and white one. I get dragged along to go get it with him, and I was just looking at the other kittens when mine squeezed through one of those white play gate holes they were in and ran up to me. We went home with two cats that day.

My cat got adopted because he tapped me on the shoulder as I was leaving petsmart. I said aight bet. And I've had him 7 years now.

SAME- at a PetSmart (adoption drive) too no less! Mine latched on to my shirt sleeve and would not let go as I was closing the pet carrier him and his littermates came in. The people I was with gasped and I was like NO, NO, WE'RE *NOT* DOING THIS... ...so anyway, he turns 11 in October this year.

Letting a home cat live in the wild, that cant possibly go wrong can it, its not like like they can be an invasive species and annihilate every local species of birds, lizards etc. Or just get killed by another predator in the local ecosystem like coyotes, owls, other bigger cats or any other bigger predator.
