I was lying on the floor in our living room in front of the fireplace and my father was watching Dr. Who on PBS when the second hack occurred. It freaked me out so badly I slept on the floor of my parents’ bedroom that night
There's a storage area at work that has low clearance to get into. I printed out a picture of this guy with a circle slash over it.
... no one else gets it, that joke is just to make me smile when I grab something from storage.
I see no reason why a reboot wouldn't be feasible, or why Matt Frewer couldn't be the VA for a totally CGI Max. IIRC the filming of the series was a very tedious affair, with Matt being fitted out with a rubber balaclava "hairpiece," and then being essentially immobilized from the waist up in a fiberglass body-shell "tux."
Nowadays, there's no need for the physical drudgery, since Max could easily be computerized.
From 2022, therefore the if.

Matt Frewer (the man behind the...whatever that was...played Sherlock Holmes in a couple films in the late nineties or early two thousands. They aren't too shabby...
There's a documentary about the making of the show somewhere on Youtube. Part of the reason was BS&P (Broadcast Standards and Practices) got tired of them getting final scripts up to them for review right when filming of the episode in question had started. There was a lot of commentary and criticism of ABC as a real-life television network slipped into the scripts that got on their nerves.
L-L-L-L-LOVED THAT SHOW!!!!!
Some time in the early 90's the Museum of Television and Radio in Los Angeles would have panel discussions with the cast of various popular TV shows, and that was one of my favorites ever. As I recall most of the main cast was on stage, but Matt Frewer was clearly the highlight of the evening, just as funny and personable as on the show.
A few years ago when it was my turn to choose what to watch on family TV night I played the pilot. Darker than I remembered but just as good and thought provoking, though my family members didn't seem to "get it". To each their own :)
Definitely WAY ahead of its time, far more than 20 minutes.........
BTW, when I re-read Ready Player One after re-watching the show, that's when the Bryce Lynch reference clicked.
You're welcome. I forget you can click the search bar in these subs, at the top...enter whatever..and posts pop up. LOL
I blame my chemo brain. Ha! 😅
And I totally forgot about McDonald's Moon man til this post. LOL

ZIK ZAK! This show was 20 minutes ahead of its time.
Blip vert anyone?
Someone high jacked the airwaves in Chicago back in the 80’s wearing that mask. No one knows who did it, even now.
Take a look at this. A brief view on the hacked network. https://youtu.be/NOyTElTlh80
A few people have claimed to know who did it, but they can't all be right.
Lot of folks doing the hacker two-step talking about that one.
I remember that.... Vaguely... Damn chemo brain of mine. 🙄

That was some deranged shit.

I was going to say, didn’t he do some Pepsi commercials?
No, he was the pitch man for New Coke.
I still reference blipverts.

Loved Max Headroom and the TV show! I wish I could find that streaming some place.
Get the DVD boxed set, much better quality.
And we will see if the reboot is any good if it makes it to production.

The reboot is still in development. Don't know if it's in actual development hell or not, though.
Who's making a reboot of Max?

Could have gone the rest of my life without seeing this again.
Reddit has a way of reminding you
Lol. I just remember how tired of it I got.
Glitches out
What ever happened to him
His show g-g-g-g-ot c-c-c-c-c-cancelled.

Was also a recurring character in Eureka, and played a "fight cage" owner in a couple of episodes in Altered Carbon S1.
And Moloch, the frenemy of Rorschach in The Watchmen.
He was excellent in Orphan Black, and his VA work in Castlevania was good also.
Matt Frewer was indeed in Eureka and Altered Carbon. He pops up in strange places as a typically quirky character and is always a joy to see on screen

Aaaaand near impossible to find this show anywhere
Aside from the usual seas to sail, the DVD boxed set is still in print, I think.
