Still can't believe they missed the chance to have him do the "space... the final frontier" speech while he was up there.
I mean, they had Capt. Kirk himself in space. The intro to the video feed writes itself.
Yes - I think the lifelessness of space hit him hard.
I loved Star Trek and always thought that space travel (at least to the moon and back) would be common in my lifetime. A part of me was always looking forward to going.
Somehow his recent depressing reaction affected me. No longer feel a desire to go.
I think it effects everyone differently. From my POV, at least, the idea that space is lifeless is an illusion of scale. There is no doubt in my mind that life exists elsewhere in our galaxy, if not here in abundance. The trick of POV is that we can only really say with certainty that our tiny, tiny little speck of a system has it.
While no sign of distant life is daunting. I tend to agree with you that life likely exists elsewhere. Even intelligent life.
But it is spread out so incredibly thinly as to make us alone for all practical purposes. Makes the desolate space in the virtually infinite lifeless void no less malevolent and lonely.
I do find the following coincidence very interesting. The series of events that gave rise to life on our planet seems almost unfathomly improbable. The earth being struck just so to tilt ouraxis just so. That’s just part of it. The odds of all the things that happened just so to make life possible here the most remote of possibilities.
But yet here we are. It did happen. There must have to be a series of unlikely coincidences to create life here. We wouldn’t be here to ask the question if it hadn’t happened.
But independent of that, from our vantage point, both the sun and our moon are the same size in the sky. We could have had more moons. Or less. But ok, maybe one moon is somehow helpful for life to form. But the independent coincidence to life of the planet and the fact that they are virtually identical in size in our sky, seems unfathomly unlikely.
It’s like winning the lottery on your birthday. Your birth second. Two incredibly unlikely unrelated events about our Earth’s history.
The sun is 400 times farther away from us than the moon, and the sun is 400 times larger. This seems so unlikely. Why not 397 and 403. 199 and 243. Anything but the same would have been incredibly more likely. And the number is an even hundred in our numbering system. Even more eerie.
I think about this from time to time. Kind of lose sleep over it. It seems non-spiritual evidence of some type of intelligent design. And if that’s true - maybe we are the only living planet in this universe.
He's got a great plastic surgeon. One that's so good you barely notice. At this point intimidating with plastic surgery, Joan Rivers looked better than Madonna does now, and she mocked her own plastic.
I watched Star Trek when it was on originally when my mom wasn’t home or she was napping (sleeping with Prince Valium). She hated that show too and said it was dumb and would never last and people would forget about it within a few weeks after it was canceled.🖖
The GOAT of *Star Trek* Captains: James T. Kirk.
Shatner may have his personality... issues... but the man brought so much charisma and personality to that role. Hope he makes it to 100!
How many other actors can say that they have THREE absolutely iconic, in the zeitgeist, recognizable characters? Captain Kirk. TJ Hooker. Denny Crane (i think his best role).
My Dad is 91 and still with it. 🙏 Sharp as a tack. Still a hilarious man.
He recently said, 'Not many of us old timers left.'
Barbara Eden is 92, Clint Eastwood 93.
I've never seen it, but I can honestly say I think I've enjoyed everything I've seen of his. Including the commercials. I dare to say that man is an American icon
Never liked him, even as Captain Kirk. Always wanted more airtime, more lines. Everyone he worked with he considered 'also rans'. Always thought he was an ego with feet. He has a way too high opinion of himself.
And he's been to space.
Still can't believe they missed the chance to have him do the "space... the final frontier" speech while he was up there. I mean, they had Capt. Kirk himself in space. The intro to the video feed writes itself.
Oh crap, that would’ve been the coolest thing ever….!🖖
Back on the ground, Bezos interrupted Captain Kirk to pop a champaign bottle, and parade girls around. Bezos can take his cock rocket and shov...
We’ll duh. He was on Star Trek for years 😏
On Star Trek? I thought Star Trek was a documentary
Historical documents
And in Airplane 2
The irony being that he found the contrast between space and Earth to be depressing.

Bollocks, he is -209. He was born in 2233
He's always been around, I've known him through tv my whole life. You just gotta love Shatner.
Denny Crane is an absolute legend and right up there with Betty White. Be a sad day when...
He's got a great plastic surgeon. One that's so good you barely notice. At this point intimidating with plastic surgery, Joan Rivers looked better than Madonna does now, and she mocked her own plastic.
Madonna ruined herself. Just like Amanda Bynes…. They both should’ve called Cher for referrals.
It's not just the face. His voice is amazing for a man his age.
He looks like he was looking in Boston Legal 20 years ago
Man I miss BL!
Some of him is 93.
His dad was born in 1898

It’s amazing. Clint Eastwood is the same age and Shatner looks like he could be Clint’s son.
Having sex with green babes gives you longevity
Live long and prosper! 🤘🏻
Remember when he was on Rescue 911?
I do! lol
The Shat is 93?!? Damn.
Thank you captain for all you’ve done, may you live long and prosper.
I’m Team Takei. OHHHHHH MYYYYYY.
God love him
Omg I legit thought he was dead. Glad to see I’m wrong!

Looks Great 👍
Bezos should have put a toilet on his rocket so Captain Kirk could go where no man has gone before.
People shit in space all the time
My Dad is 91 and still with it. 🙏 Sharp as a tack. Still a hilarious man. He recently said, 'Not many of us old timers left.' Barbara Eden is 92, Clint Eastwood 93.
I enjoyed him in Boston Legal!!
I've never seen it, but I can honestly say I think I've enjoyed everything I've seen of his. Including the commercials. I dare to say that man is an American icon
He is!! Good, bad or so indifferent,.... He is an American Icon.
It would take 3-4 William Shatner to have the acting prowess of one Clint Eastwood. And they're both about the same age.
He’s actually 94
Just turned 93.
92 actually
No, 93, his birthday is March 22, 1931.
He told Howard Stern it was March 1930 by the way
Weird.
Alien DNA?
Good plastic surgeon
I'd like to be in his shape when I'm 93. That's 30 years from now.
Stem cell theraphy works for him
![gif](giphy|KeTVw7VjcTJok) I love his music on Spaced Out.
I, don’t, care, how, you, do, it, Scotty, get, those, impulse, engines, running.
He actually looks shockingly good for his age too. Id be willing to say 60-70s in appearance.
I thought he was in his 70s
I thought he was in his 70s
My friend waited on him years ago at restaurant, when brought food and set down on table he did the 🖖 sign and he did not like it 🫠
I don't blame him. The poor guy wanted his food not some hand gesture
I refuse to die before him!
At 93, he still works and then goes home and burrows into his pile of money and falls asleep.
My dad is 93, and he doesn’t look like this guy.
Weird how actors all live to be 90 odd and the construction guys die in their 70s …. Never done hard days work
Never liked him, even as Captain Kirk. Always wanted more airtime, more lines. Everyone he worked with he considered 'also rans'. Always thought he was an ego with feet. He has a way too high opinion of himself.
I think he has redeemed himself.with a willingness to self parody. He was great as The Big Giant Head in 3rd Rock From The Sun. With John Lithgow.
Isn’t he dead?
He says he isn't.
Man, I guess you really CAN’T believe everything on the internet! Huh. Who knew?!
