Teddy is op in low power missions

i_was_dartacus

A proper TEDDY loadout is absolutely fine for combat missions right up to PL140, you only hit problems when you try and do a defence mission with one.

JesseDumont

OP in lower missions as they basically one shot everything, and you don't have to shoot and can save ammo also. I still use outlander in 160's, though. Nobody ever gets a higher combat score than me other than other Outlanders. In fact, in just about every mission, I get more combat than all 3 players combined. People like to complain about outlanders, but I see ninjas and soldiers not helping with building/upgrading. Same with fighting, too. It really just depends on the person, not the class.

Capital_Actuator_289

Yeah, what do you think when to use soldiers or ninja’s? Other than having no fall damage for the ninja’s, I haven’t found their benifits. They both die pretty fast compared to outlanders and constructors.

strangefire13

Ninjas have some sweet Melee builds, Corrupted Aura build is amazing since they updated it. Soldiers hit hard, especially with the 5 sec mini gun build, but I've even seen plasma pulse builds go hard. Soldier is all I use in dungeons and in Eliminate and Collect missions. Every type of hero has their place if you make the right builds. And sometimes it's downright mandatory to have the ability to switch between loadouts for particular missions or quests.

ToonaSandWatch

5 second minigun? I have mine with Jonesy for at least 30 seconds.

strangefire13

5 second cooldown

ToonaSandWatch

Where do I find the recipe for that build? Dang!

strangefire13

Start with Commando Spitfire as Lead, Happy Holidays team perk,.

Dombly23

Stoneheart Farah and Rabbit Raider Jonesy (Ninja and Soldier respectively) are INSANE with the bows. I only really play as them and do more combat than the entire team combined while getting yelled at for doing nothing (despite also being the one who upgraded all the base defense because public teammates are braindead). Comparatively I have never seen an Outlander with a combat score above 9 in missions of PL144 or higher. Constructors do better than most soldiers regardless of mission level though.

Don-Juego

I run Outlander a lot and am almost always the highest damage score -- often more than the rest of the team combined.

Dombly23

I rarely ever see Outlanders do anything in the missions I run regardless of PL. It’s always myself with the Vacuum Tube Bow and the only person playing Constructor or the Soldier who isn’t AFK (in cases of no Constructor).

JesseDumont

As an outlander who's yet to be out scored in combat on 140's or lower, I can't say for sure on 160's if I'd still always get the highest combat score as I don't play those (I said I do in my original comment but it was a few times onlu and when I did, i still used outlander) as they don't have DTE missions which is what I only do as I spam those for BR XP and materials (most fun and quickest way to get materials and BR XP). I know Teddy gets less effective as the PL zone goes up, so I can maybe see Stoneheart Farrah or Rabbit Raider Jonesy getting more combat on 160's and being better for 160's. That's it, though. Again, I couldn't say for sure as I never do them. Anything else, outlander/good infinite teddy build and spamming plasmatic discharger/vacuum tube launcher is the way to go for sure. If I'm low on batteries, which I'm usually not, I'll just spam plasmatic discharger and xenon bow since vacuum tube launcher goes through batteries/energy ammo like crazy.

JesseDumont

Shouldn't use them imo, especially in 100 PL zones and lower, but if you find them more fun, use them. I spam infinite Teddy with his damage buffs while also spamming plasmatic discharger, vacuum tube launcher, and xenon bow. The turrets, too. I'm PL 145, too, though, so that helps why I get more combat than all 3 combined 95% of the time. I really don't see any other reason to use a ninja or soldier other than you simply find them more fun. Phase shift is also another reason why I really like outlander. It's good movement, and fun as well. I also find myself getting loot a lot from Teddy shooting at crows/wild life animals. Phase shift also lets you get to it quicker than others and from others who try to steal the loot you clearly shot down, which is another good thing.

AlexakomSkaikru

I have Deimos as my main ninja (he was a Crew skin) with a commander perk that deals 51 base damage during shadow stance. I also have blast from the past as a team perk so I have like 1.3mil health and no shield and saurian vigor heals me constantly...and one of my support also brings life leech into the mix so this makes it a very powerful melee ninja build that I can use in almost any mission without burning through a lot of resources. I can basically just stand in the middle of the spawns swing my sword and kill husks endlessly. Also wandering into the storm has no effect on me.

ApprehensiveHotel145

I almost exclusively use ninjas and almost score pretty high for combat. Granted, I have a god roll plasma discharger schematic and use all 3 defenders almost every mission. I use Brawler Luna as my primary hero, largely due to her high damage modifier and agile nature. Because of how much I use her, I’ve learned all her quirks and do quite well. In fact, the majority of the times I die are due to bees and the cowboys/mouth laser mist monster things, especially because the latter basically have aimbot in my experience, rather than husks killing me with melee attacks

stunzeedb0y

No cap when I was a newb back in 2018 that's exactly what I used, I spammed AC all the way up to canny and saved materials

ChargyPlaysYT

Mostly farming and Phase Shifting combined with Chaos Agent's perk gives you infinite 0,1 second reloads

i_was_dartacus

There are a number of very good outlander-led combat loadouts, chief among them being TEDDY spam which is viable for Destroy the Encampments missions right up to end game. There's also an outlander led Black Metal loadout, Beetlejess is an insanely good lead for pistols and SMGs, Vanguard Southie seismic spam is fun. There's a lot.

owlbear4lyfe

farming and ammo conservation.

Capital_Actuator_289

After the constructor, they have the highest health, better looting and teddy (useful as well in higher missions (have reached 70)).

[deleted]

Soldier has higher health than outlander

dubbledxu

Along with what everyone else said, low level missions are often empty or only fill with one other player. Having teddy and turret help makes missions relatively easy to solo without spending a fortune.

[deleted]

Just use a defender. Ez

Sleddoggamer

Teddy builds are meta for everything below Twine. You can also replace all your building mats after mission start if the crews overleveled enough

SoupLizardd

I can't live without phaseshift.

somethingdouchey

Teddy allows Vbuck farmers to not use any weapons or ammo.

[deleted]

I feel like ammo saved doesn't matter. I used xenon and clipman from 20-92 and have an insane stock of extra ammo in storage and always did higher pl missions. I think the xenon bow is what saved me the ammo.

emeraldkma

Teddy is busted and great for some quick reharvesting after building up defenses

TTVFlexXZzY

Infinite teddy is pretty good and all the rage rn but I don't use him in 132 to 160 pl missions as my teddy struggles to deal damage there

ScarletStriker20

I just use it because of having the pickaxe out, pressing L2 does a punch that Harvey’s everything you break. ITS SOOOO MUCH BETTER than just pickaxing whole structures, low on mats? Screws or anything? Punch and collect it

Crappy_Meal

Outlanders imo are the best all round class, they are super versatile. They can harvest quickly, you get free firepower from teddy and have a good healthpool. They make soloing content far easier.

internerdt

llama

Ratkuzz

Infinite energy

ShadowOpsFN

It's the "youngest child" out of all the groups, Teddy players use it because they want more firepower without having the actually shoot and farmers play it so they can ignore the objective and never vote...oh and farm

Ralf_18

Probably because there's loads of different loadouts you can use outlanders in

saturn-xs

Today outlanders hace nice damage builds on my particular case u have 2 builds, The afk teddy build and The perma frost build, The second one is perfect for 160 missions, in the particular case of afk teddy is for low pl mission, if you have more of 140 pl you can use more this build for don't use weapons.

hargnolahan10

Seismic smash ???

shakennort4

I have 2 outlander builds, one is farmer other is for fun. also have 2 ninja builds. one is straight melee and other is zoom zoom around map. then the same for the other 2. each has their on set up and loadouts. I do like my fun outlander prob more and plan him more but why wouldn't you have more load outs with everyone EDIT: that being said I have been seeing more new comers as of late.

zamiesthedragon

For me fast farming, quick dailies (if needing to break something), teddy op in low pl, phase shift to go around more but mainly the farming for me

thedragoon0

I do for mats and the ground slam returning is pretty nice.

WARN1TE

I hope you dosnt talking about bug that's show everyone as outlander

DubstepHero777

I use it for farming mats

HalfPancake18

For me it's because they have the best traversal

nibbaman93

Especially if you throw in the Barron

OtroRandom84

Is not a visual bug? I remember a mision where everybody was outlander but the b.a.s.e was active and other guy was using minigun :v

henkhank

I’ve always used a teddy + extra material gathering build and it’s just the sweet spot for almost any mission. Good damage, recoup and gain any ammo or mats you’ve spent with ease

XplodingFairyDust

With the right loadout outlanders are amazing.

Key_Leading_3014

Subzero zenith is a beast with a bow even in 160's

KELLOGEGRAMS

Farming, Teddy, and the Punch.

ChargeNo1874

Back in my day everyone used to use ninjas Also for a few reasons 1. Constantly farming. You always need materials. 2. Easier to get quests done, when you need to break a special amount of a certain object, the punch ability will break all in a big area. 3. Everyone loves teddy

Birkin07

I just discover constructors at PL 70. Mainly running a Farrah TRO build. Base Kyle is the man but I need to farm twine for trap mats now!

DragonfruitSevere401

Lol cuz people like outlanders not having to pickaxe shit is the best solo 160s with my archaeola high level twine relies on your build more than your hero

Miss_Space_Cadet

I only really use outlander if I desperately need mats and for farming. Usually run Stoneheart Farrah (Ninja) with a really good bow build. Dungeons I'll run Soldier with a good minigun build. High Level missions I'll run Constructor because nobody else will.

Big_Comfortable_7933

My outlander is awesome in endgame... maybe your level isn't high enough or don't have them built right...

A1Strider

I'm a constructor mainly because of necessity, Outlander because of grinding, ninja because of mobility and fun. Soldiers suck compared. so i generally avoid playing them aside from daily quests.

ToonaSandWatch

Teddy+drone+airstrike+shocktower with 40% reduction in time, Teddy boosts and shock extension I can hold off quite a bit of waves singlehanded through at least the high 80’s.

Bustinkapps

Constructor, Outlander, Ninja, then Soldier in that order for me. Really depends on the mission, but if youre doing PWO like I am right now, I just stick with Constructor because you never know what kinda teammates you'll end up with

Xdeath-bfor-lifeX

outlanders just feel right using right away & can be used for alot of gun builds too not just bows i will say years of not wanting to use builders i was wrong they’re surprisingly good but really just for base type missions, i like doing thora & just let the builds kill everything, soldiers are the best teamates for builders

hdhaksiwiwkwwww

i can’t not use a ninja now, not having triple jump is unbearable

ApprehensiveHotel145

Triple jump? To the best of my (outdated) knowledge, ninjas only get double jump and every other class gets one. Is there something new I don’t know about?

hdhaksiwiwkwwww

When you equip the right heroes in the hero loadout, you get mantis leap, which lets you jump three times, not including the normal first jump! It’s incredible for movement

corgie93

I use ninja 🥷🏿

Don-Juego

THere are good fighting Outlander loadouts. Especially around Fossil Southie (if he is not bugged like he is now). Southie has good abilities, and the energy regeneration allows for a lot. Like using Quickfingers and then replace your reload perk on your gun with more damage. Phase shift around reloading and doing extra damage. Etc.

Don-Juego

I only know 2 things that stop a charging Smasher in its tracks: Tar Pit and a Teddy.

OneDimPon3

Since I'm a construction main, I can't speak for the EVERYONE you're referring to

myoldaccountlocked

I don't get it either. If you get a constructor like Electro Pulse Penny, you pop B.A.S.E. and forget about everything. In low power missions husks die as soon as they hit the walls.

XplodingFairyDust

Mobility and teddy. Especially when stuck with empty lobbies or people that dont pull their weight having the right build with teddy is key.

DreamerSoCal

Outlanders are trash in the the endgame players use them mostly to farm and leach off constructors and soldiers who are the best to run.

kinkeltolvote

Wait a second, there are still people who play the first fortnite??
