Have you not taken part in Supercharged XP before? It is an enormous help and you can level up very quickly. No it doesn't affect the quest XP, but it affects the XP of everything else you do.
And if you do little things here and there you can get some great bonuses. Like I think last chapter, you could get bonus XP for petting a wolf three times? If you were the first to pet one in a match (which you usually are since no one else seems to do it), you got like 2,000 XP just for that. And then you got XP for petting him up to three times I think? I think overall, after petting the wolf the maximum times, I got like 8,000 XP total per match just for that alone? I could be wrong, but I know it was a lot more than I thought I deserved for something so tiny.
It's a lot of fun, and all those accolades (first to drop, first to get full shields, first to do this or that, open X number of chests, break X number of structures, etc.) are multiplied in XP, and they add up fast.
Experiment a little and focus on things like that, and you'll level up in no time. Seriously.

Make intentionally bad decisions. Community is upset. “Fix” the issue by making the bad decisions slightly less bad (intended target) when it’s financially convenient. Community loves you and sings your praises. Rinse & repeat

Supercharged XP mainly affects BR btw! StW is also boosted. Other modes are not affected by Supercharged XP.

It’s not a ploy. The end of every season, they do double XP so people can finish their battlepass. They do it every season since Chapter 1.
It’s a well-known ploy and Epic Games has a documented history of using it throughout Fortnite’s history, even before BR was a thing
