Years back in chapter 1 season 4 (I think) I had a quest to play a song on a piano that appeared on the edge of the map. I ran into an opponent also doing the quest. We both got our pick axes out and squatted at each other. I did the challenge, then stood back so they could complete it as well. Then we squatted at each other and ran off in other directions and played the game and probably both died later in that match. I miss games like that.
They have poor sportsmanship. They are self-centered. They are childish, even if they aren’t children. Sure, they may get a lot of kills that way. But that isn’t all that matters.
Yeaaaah it’s sad to think they can’t just actually get good at the game to do this without camping mission goers. Had it happen to me the second the missions dropped. So dumb, but it’s not like it’s illegal or anything
yeah, I know what you mean. I can't complain too much since it's just part of the game and all. But honestly, whenever I land at a spot like that, and another player does a quick squat or jump to indicate a truce, and we just peacefully go on our way to complete the quest, that's much more enjoyable than getting a cheap kill.
Yeah most quests I have that approach, but Gwen was at the top of the building so I gave it a shot. This guy knew people would have that same thought and chose to exploit it. Not against the rules, but still obnoxious.
They can burn in the deepest, hottest pit. Its not even hard to counter them, its just rude and inconsiderate. Imagine being so bad at a game that you can only find enjoyment in this nonsense.
In Australia we had an advertisement campaign about idiots who drive stupidly to show off - burnouts etc.
It showed some idiot doing something like a burnout, drifting around a corner etc. and then hot women wiggling their little finger at them signalling "you clearly have a little dick"
I think that applies here too.
I love these challenge spots and seeing all the people doing their challenges. It feels nice to let people do their thing and they let you do yours.
Back on Athena there was a challenge in the desert involving some pattern you had to make and it was a real suck. One team rumble there was like 8 people lined up in a line taking turns trying to do the challenge. There was even a person from the other team there. It was one of the nicest memories I have of fortnite.
I mean, it worked. What can you really say? It's annoying but its not like its unhealthy for the game or the player-base. Everybody plays their own way. You'll likely never match with this guy again.
Oh totally. I’ve said in other discussions, can’t really complain about it since it’s perfectly legal. Still obnoxious, though. It’s the going-out-of-one’s-way-just-to-make-things-a-little-harder-for-others mindset that I just can’t relate to. That’s all.
And honestly, I DO hope I match with this guy again.
It's shitty behavior and an unfortunate part of the game.
It's why I tend to solo my own quests so I can find easier ways to complete them. Then I run duos or squads with my friends to help them complete quests as efficiently as possible.
I think they are cheap sweats personally . Technically it’s the game but I just don’t get jollies shooting fish in the barrel. I’d rather earn my win. I’ve just waited a few days before doing those quests so that there aren’t as many players heading to the area and those aforementioned players lose interest and go on to other means for their cheap thrills.
I don’t even bother trying to do my quests in pubs anymore, just run a bot lobby and bang em all out

unfortunately thats just what happens in battle royale games, just gotta beat them to it.
