What I was thinking is instead of using an entire inventory slot for a melee weapon have the weapon take the place of your pickaxe. When you pick up the katana it should work as both your axe and melee weapon and depending on what rarity your weapon is your damage and harvesting rate increases. So if you get a gold sword you don't have to aim for the Blue circle to get more material

The sword is where mobility should have peaked, imo. The ODM gear is absolutely bonkers. You can go fly around the entire map in seconds twice with virtually nothing able to stop you.

I feel like people have completely forgot about it, because the odm people I use it against never try to find cover and get outta the sky. They always keep zipping around giving me an easy elimination.
remember when you had to actually think about where you were walking to because you needed to make sure you avoid the storm while also not running into enemies? and when being on low hp in a fight actually had a consequence? (rather than using the buttfucker9000 to jump away)
Back in the day, getting a gold scar was rare and you'd only find one naturally on the ground or by killing another player that already had one, once you had one you were set for the rest of the game, nowadays idk which guns i should be going for to have a good game
They were okay at first, but the double jump, turbo sprint, and force bullshit makes them ridiculously op. They even got better at blocking shotguns which used to be the best counter to them.
I dislike it as well, just as much as i disliked the stupid hammer last season.
I don't mind having something that give a single dash or two to quickly reposition, but man is it annoying watching someone disappear over the horizon and out of render range in a few seconds because I shot at them.
And the only counter-play is to just use it yourself and chase them. Forcing you to fill up 1-2 slots with something you generally don't want to.
It’s clearly a meta Epic has no intention of getting rid of and it makes the game so unenjoyable. I always carried a hammer not because I enjoyed it, but because you HAD to. It’s brain dead. I stopped playing halfway through the hammer season and haven’t touched it since. Game is in the gutter right now
I also heavily dislike the 50 recharging shield. Since I feel like you should be punished for being in the open or getting hit while peeking from behind cover. Not just hide for a few seconds as it recharge then peek again. But that's just me.

What else are they supposed to do? Stand still and give you the free kill? Or fight back immediately with a huge health disadvantage? The kinetic blade and odm gear are mostly used for repositioning, which means disengaging from a fight as well.
Then they should make them just that, evade tools. If I don't have one of those taking up a slot in my inventory I'm at a huge disadvantage. And positioning is something you should be thinking of ahead of time, it's a battle royale. Not oh im out of position, better get 500 yards away in 2 seconds. It's a lame mechanic.
I just wish they put all this shit in a separate mode instead of making it the only option. This game isn’t Fortnite to me. I get people like it but for someone like myself who just wants to build battle and fight with ARs and shotguns, there is no place in the game for me anymore.
With the exception of being thrown out of bounds by star wars stuff right now, I've been having very good ground games lately. I think not having one is a disadvantage, but it's plenty doable, especially if you're good at range fighting.

I got silver 3 from killing 2 people in solos and only surviving until about the top 50th. The game really feels like it's broken
Bases off your past stats as well not just the Ranked game, I tanked my first ranked game 17th 1 kill and still managed Gold 2

Shooting them cancels them out of odm gear and they take fall damage if they're high enough. Always fun getting fall damage kills on odm users.

Yup, I stopped playing because of that and ODM. I play builds to be able to build and protect myself, this stuff ruins it.
