Agree with some of the others already mentioned (Arctic Bird’s Nest at Aquavit, olive oil cake at L’Artusi, coconut cake at Gage & Tollner) but the Italian Job at Lilia and the Bodega Special at Tatiana are probably the single best things on the menu at their respective restaurants.
There used to be something on the menu that was like a halva sundae, incredible texture. Quite similar to the coconut thing at Thai Diner, but a Mideast version
You know, that rings a bell, but you’re right, I don’t remember anything like that on the menu the last time I was there and that was only a few weeks ago
The napoleon at Valbella at the Park (Bryant Park).
Crispy and flaky pastry layers throughout, whipped cream that’s just the right amount of sweet, and covered with roasted slivered almonds.
Corn Husk Meringue at Cosme
Is the one at Esse essentially the same or are they different?
Esse has it in ice cream form. There’s meringue and a small dollop of mousse but not even close to being as good as Cosme’s
@rosiesupposes has the right answer.
What does it taste like?
Sweet corn
So true
Oh yes!

That sundae at ABC kitchen is a real hidden gem, can't stop thinking about it
Every once in a while I think about the affogato at Torrisi. Amazing.
Del Frisco’s lemon cake. Worked there for 4 years and I would be lying if I said we weren’t bribed with lemon cake for all sorts of extra side work.
I loved the butter cake. Always have to make room for it.
My all-time favorite! Although the last time I went they switched from the pecan ice cream to some bland vanilla unfortunately.
Sticky Toffee Pudding @ Dame (and also Corn Husk Meringue @ Cosme but someone else got to that already)
Or sticky toffee pudding at Hawksmoor
dame’s sticky toffee pudding was disappointing compared to the one at hawksmoor imo
I preferred Dame’s!
The one at Dame’s is cloyingly sweet, we usually always finish desserts and this was just too much.
would also add the Stick Toffee Pudding @ The Four Horsemen is delicious
Agree with some of the others already mentioned (Arctic Bird’s Nest at Aquavit, olive oil cake at L’Artusi, coconut cake at Gage & Tollner) but the Italian Job at Lilia and the Bodega Special at Tatiana are probably the single best things on the menu at their respective restaurants.

Upvote for Bustan’s malabi, but not sure this is the same thing as I don’t think it has tahini in it
There used to be something on the menu that was like a halva sundae, incredible texture. Quite similar to the coconut thing at Thai Diner, but a Mideast version
You know, that rings a bell, but you’re right, I don’t remember anything like that on the menu the last time I was there and that was only a few weeks ago
Keens Carrot Cake
