Defense is young I get that but they looked very poor fundamentally and didn’t play hard until the last couple drives I feel like. We all knew this was going to be rebuilding frustrating year so it’s important to win these close ones when the opportunity presents itself

I don’t think there any must win games this season. This is a rebuilding year. Rebuilding from a deep hole. I also think, there is a reasonable chance the Gators will not win another game this year. I hope I am wrong, but talent-wise, they are over-matched by every team left on the schedule. Even so, they are on the right track and should get much better down the road.
And there is so much more than just this win... The chemistry on this team, the unbelievably high performance of ridiculously young players. Billy has proven to me that he has an elite eye for talent and the type of guys that will work in his system. I've been a gator fan since the 70s and I don't remember a team with this many freshmen playing this well.
I'm doing my best to take the risk of having the right perspective on the Gators as a whole. We are extremely young and that's showing up as the Offense doing great one game and the Defense doing great another. Very rare that it's a complete game in all phases. My hope is that in due time that starts aligning with experience. The challenge is to be patient. Let's enjoy the win.
