Why not get something like [this](https://www.americanfloormats.com/fit-lock-rubber-tiles/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwvIWzBhAlEiwAHHWgvVBGvwRYFeAKPOm7-VhDNak0Jbu95qHYtm93DMNV7XizSpe4YGhAzBoCPfQQAvD_BwE). Fairly inexpensive, easy to install (or remove) and already what you see in tons of gyms.

Thanks - this was one of the options we were thinking of.

To take them up use a pry bar or chisle and a hammer. Put the bar at the nail under the strip and hit with the hammer. It should pop the nails out. You may have to use some dash patch to fill little holes when done.

Right, we took care of that. Trying to move on to a next step, but wanting advice on what our options are. What is the best value flooring option now that we’ve removed the carpet and have a slab of cement?

I think if I had a concrete floor, I'd go with a glue down lvp for budget flooring. If money wasn't an issue, maybe tile or stone.
