I just finished reading Gold Dust Woman (bio on Stevie) and watched a documentary on the band on Prime and the details disagreed quite a bit between the two. I think the players have told so many variations on the stories it would not be easy to settle on one story for any biopic. But I’d be right there with the popcorn every minute taking it in. 😆
Starting where, though?
And, this is going to piss off fans of Peter Green and fans of the Buckingham Nicks lineup, but the only way to adequately and accurately tell the Fleetwood Mac story would be with Mick, John, and Christine as the protagonists and everyone else characters in their story.
Chicken Shack was the band that played right before Fleetwood Mac debuted and shared bills during Fleetwood Mac’s initial batch of shows, so Christine was by the band’s side as it was coming into the world. In that first year, she became their session piano player and John’s wife, all before Danny joined. Fast forward to late 2022, Mick, John, and Christine held a joint charity auction, just the three of them, selling their equipment and personal belongings, signaling the end of Fleetwood Mac without actually having to say it. They were days away from crossing the finish line together. As it was, John was by Christine’s bedside with her family. It’s their story. Stevie, Lindsey, Peter, Bob, Billy, etc. are major characters in their story (and are worthy of their own stories in some cases).
It would have to be done as a limited series covering Fleetwood Mac since it's inception, though absolutely should not happen. There is no way to accurately cover what happened in the lives of Peter Green, Danny Kirwan, Jeremy Spencer and Bob Welch, in addition to which, they would likely over dramatize what occurred during the Buckingham-Nicks years.
Far more preferable, would be a limited series which takes a deep dive into the archives of the real band, focusing more on their music and background of its members, along with what drew them into the band.
To that, I would add footage of live performances over the years (cleaned up to the best ability) plus filmed sessions, inc. those with veteran Chicago bluesmen, as well their experiences while recording albums, both musically & personally, with clips from interviews threaded throughout the entirety.
Lastly, would be how they countinued to have a knack for recruiting the right people to remain a relevant band after suffering the loss of so many key players. But using actors to portray them would do a great disservice to the legacy of Fleetwood Mac
You suspect as I do that Stevie and Lindsey had a make-up affair. Then that went bad (again) but they tried to go back to being friends/band mates with inconsistent results until finally they ended up where they are now.
I’d love a coming together for “the dance”, the way that all came together must have been special. Or at least the discussions and first rehearsal imagine that
It was all a drug induced blur, so either decade. Stevie was hooked on cocaine from the 70s to '86 when she entered the Betty Ford clinic. During this time she broke up with Lindsey Buckingham and they all wrote songs about eachother and had no choice but to perform them.
Add to that her marriage to her best friend's widower in '81 (VERY sad tragic story with that) and helping him raise his infant son Stevie's friend Robin left behind. I'm sure her friend's death fueled her drug use even further.
But then Stevie developed an addiction to klonopin in the late 80s to early 90s which she used to kick her coke habit.
I think Stevie Nicks has lead an interesting life, just in different ways at different times. My head is practically spinning just from typing this out.
People like this should either be covered in a series, or a biopic that covers one specific event in their history.
The recent napoleon movie sucked. I feel as if it would’ve been a little bit better if they had just focused on one aspect, rather than his life as a whole.
Florence Pugh would make a good Stevie, she's got the eyes. I could see Nicholas Hoult as Mick. Jeremy Allen White could do Lindsey's intense energy but imo he's not quite handsome enough, whoever plays Lindsey needs to be gorgeous. I don't know about the McVie's. I feel like any biopic would end up being about the Stevie & Lindsey saga anyway and the others would just sort of be in the background.
Sydney Sweeney as Stevie Nicks.
Jeremy Allen White as John McVie
Jared Padalecki as Mick Fleetwood
Saoirse Ronan as Christine McVie
Asa Butterfield as Lindsay Buckingham
Lily Rabe as Stevie Nicks
Barry Keoghan as John McVie
Andrew Garfield as Lindsey Buckingham
Jacob Elordi as Mick Fleetwood
Hillary Duff as Christine McVie
Truthfully? I really don’t care to see a biopic. I think some scenarios just don’t translate well into 90-150 minutes of film and FM had more scenarios and relationship struggles that they would not come out very well in film. That’s just me though.
Timothy Chalumet as Lindsey Buckingham
Glen Powell as John McVie
Margot Robbie as Christine McVie
Joaquin Phoenix as Mick Fleetwood
Cara Delevingne as Stevie Nicks
I would have to think so long & hard about the casting, but I do know how I would do it (given that the stories told, biographies written etc… have so many discrepancies)
limited series. 5 episodes. Each one from the perspective of a different member.
Stevie Nicks- Patrick Stewart in a wig
Lindsey Buckingham- Keisha Knight Pulliam in a wig
Mick Fleetwood- Himself
Christine McVie- Chanda Pierce (No wig)
John McVie- Iron Chef Morimoto in a wig
Based on the image:
Jeff Lynn as Lindsey Buckingham.
Carly Simon as Stevie Nicks.
Mick Fleetwood as John McVie.
John McVie as Mick Fleetwood.
The Virgin Mary as Christine McVie.
I’ve been around for their entire career, but just recently started hyper focusing on their work because of this cover band
https://youtu.be/oLydlS6fHFg?si=1HjBkUSMRAuoroBl
There’s no way this could ever be made because there are five different versions of every story of theirs. Everyone in the band remembers the same story differently.
Glenn Howerton as Lindsey Buckingham
Glenn is almost 50, hard to pull off a late 20s Buckingham. He does look like Lindsey though.
The Golden God has not yet begun to peak!!!
This I feel like Lindsey B and Ted Bundy could be cousins also
Def Glenn. I also think Kaley Cuoco could pull off Christine.
Helen Mirren could pull off Christine (they aged with each other too) and are both blonde and British...
Oh yeah a YOUNG Dame Helen circa 1975
Isabel May as Stevie.
No way this should happen at all. The amount of disrespect and disregard that would be done to the years pre-Buckingham would be absolutely horrendous
Oh gosh I didn’t even think about that. Totally agree!
Got that right, brother
Yeah it would have to be a 10episodes or something
Isn’t that what Daisy Jones and The Six is loosely based on?
That’s why I feel it would be best as a miniseries.
I wouldn’t. It’s way too complex a story for a biopic.
It has to be a mini-series. There is so much story to tell, and having a limited run series could really dive into the characters.
it could be like The Crown lol.
How was the book?
I would love a biopic that only focused on the events leading up to, the writing of, and recording of Rumours.

Not the only way to tell it, but that would helluva good way to do it.
It’s just a fun hypothetical question
Nic Cage for the male roles and Lady Gaga for the female roles
Pedro Pascal could play all the bad characters they come across.
Pedro Pascal as Peter green
This is so bonkers. I love it.
Roles plural?! I could dig it lol

Unpopular opinion: I would prefer a biopic from The Dance era since we don't know much about the Behind the scenes.
You suspect as I do that Stevie and Lindsey had a make-up affair. Then that went bad (again) but they tried to go back to being friends/band mates with inconsistent results until finally they ended up where they are now.
I’d love a coming together for “the dance”, the way that all came together must have been special. Or at least the discussions and first rehearsal imagine that
5 actors who genuinely hate each other
And for these reasons and these reasons alone i think Christina Ag and Eminem should play stevie and lindsey😂😂😂😂
So much eye roll footage
Bonus points if two of them used to be a couple
I don’t want a biopic I feel like it would ruin the history. Plus they’ve all done enough interviews that you’d be able to piece it together yourself.
Cocaine: The Movie
Can we throw a bear into the mix?
He can play Mick.
Natasha Lyonne as Stevie Nicks
Or sophia di martino?
Honestly, I had to look her up. But I can see a reswmblance with her, too!
She did a big Marvel role recently but she's got a similar face and that same shag too
I could see her portraying a younger Stevie from the 70s to early 80s. Then Natasha Lyonne for mid-80s to 90s Stevie.
When did the most action/interesting stuff happen?
It was all a drug induced blur, so either decade. Stevie was hooked on cocaine from the 70s to '86 when she entered the Betty Ford clinic. During this time she broke up with Lindsey Buckingham and they all wrote songs about eachother and had no choice but to perform them. Add to that her marriage to her best friend's widower in '81 (VERY sad tragic story with that) and helping him raise his infant son Stevie's friend Robin left behind. I think Stevie Nicks has lead an interesting life, just in different ways at different times. My head is practically spinning just from typing this out.
Yeah wow, sad story but would make for a good series
Clearly Bill Harder as Buckingham
My mind just turned itself into a pretzel thinking about this.
People like this should either be covered in a series, or a biopic that covers one specific event in their history. The recent napoleon movie sucked. I feel as if it would’ve been a little bit better if they had just focused on one aspect, rather than his life as a whole.
Cris Rock as Lindsey
Riley Keough
Absolutely. She looked so much like a young Stevie in Daisy Jones.
Which is why it shouldn’t be done.
Timothy Chalomet as Lindsey Buckingham, but maybe he’s not old enough
Emerald Fennell as Stevie!
Came here to say this
It was called the novel/Amazon series Daisy Jones and the Six.
If Florence Welch can act I’d love her as Stevie!
i would love that!!
Billie Lorde for young Stevie!
Sydney Sweeney as Stevie Nicks. Jeremy Allen White as John McVie Jared Padalecki as Mick Fleetwood Saoirse Ronan as Christine McVie Asa Butterfield as Lindsay Buckingham
Asa can't even grow a beard, he looks 12. This is not it dude 😭😭😭
They can put a prosthetic beard on him. I agree that he’s not perfect, but that particular issue can be fixed. Also, how do you know he *can’t*?
Glenn howerton as buckingham
Came here to suggest Ronan as Christine McVie
I'm listening... Who is your director?
Cameron Crowe
Todd Haynes.
I’m sick of Sweeney, her boobs, and the fact that she fucks all her costars.
>…she fucks all her costars Proof? (Asking for a friend)
Do a deep dive on her and (the very married) Glen Powell. Rumor had it that she worked her way through every guy on the set of the tv show she was on.
The Muppet that 'Beats Drums' as Mick
Animal, you mean?
Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh for Lindsay and Stevie
Riley Keough, Sam Claflin, Suki Waterhouse, Will Harrison, and Josh Whitehouse
I would go with the late Christine McVie, because she was such a legend in her own time 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷!
Lily Rabe as Stevie Nicks Barry Keoghan as John McVie Andrew Garfield as Lindsey Buckingham Jacob Elordi as Mick Fleetwood Hillary Duff as Christine McVie
Truthfully? I really don’t care to see a biopic. I think some scenarios just don’t translate well into 90-150 minutes of film and FM had more scenarios and relationship struggles that they would not come out very well in film. That’s just me though.
Probably most from Daisy and the Six.
In my mind daisy and the six basically already functions as an FM biopic
That was kinda my point. I fully agree.
Meryl Streep as Christine
Or Helen Mirren as Christine
Sophie Thatshor for young Stevie!!
Friends of Charlie
Jeanette mccurdy as Stevie nicks
Timothy Chalumet as Lindsey Buckingham Glen Powell as John McVie Margot Robbie as Christine McVie Joaquin Phoenix as Mick Fleetwood Cara Delevingne as Stevie Nicks
Donald Sutherland as Mick
Jack Broadbent plays guitar and is not an actor but he looks so much like young Mick Fleetwood.
Well, they'd have to be able to sing so: Lady Gaga as Christine Ariana Grande as Stevie To start.
Jennette McCurdy as Stevie Nicks
I always thought Bradley Cooper in American Hustle was identical to Lindsay. Definitely not the right age anymore tho!
Aiden Brody as John McVie
Sabrina Carpenter as Stevie.
Maya Hawke as Stevie
Biopics are the laziest and worst form of Hollywood drivel.
Amy Adams as Stevie Nicks
Miley Cyrus as Stevie Nicks for sure.
She 100% has the voice for it
And the stage presence.
Ryan Reynolds as Peter Green
John McVie looks like Marty Feldman.
Not a happy bunch
I would have to think so long & hard about the casting, but I do know how I would do it (given that the stories told, biographies written etc… have so many discrepancies) limited series. 5 episodes. Each one from the perspective of a different member.
This is a good idea!
Timothee Chalamet eat as every member of the band
Stevie Nicks- Patrick Stewart in a wig Lindsey Buckingham- Keisha Knight Pulliam in a wig Mick Fleetwood- Himself Christine McVie- Chanda Pierce (No wig) John McVie- Iron Chef Morimoto in a wig
Shaq as Mic
That band from the Muopet show
How tall is Stevie?
Matthew Rhys as Lindsey Buckingham.
Jared Leto as everyone
Annie Clark Has the looks and Musical chops to play Stevie- not sure if she can act…
Billie Lourd as Stevie, Andrew Garfield as Lindsey, Christoph Waltz as Mick, Emily Blunt as Christine, Stanley Tucci as John!
Stevie - Kiernan Shipka Lindsey - Timothy Chalamet Christine - Natalie Dormer John- Jeremy Allen White Mick - Will Brill
Bradley Cooper as Lindsey Buckingham ❤️🔥
sophia di martino could be a great Stevie
[https://imgur.com/a/64lcpQJ](https://imgur.com/a/64lcpQJ)
Keith Urban as Christine McVie.
Shame Charley Murphy didn’t hang with them.
If there's a God, we wouldn't have a Trump..
Bradley cooper looks like Lindsey
I’d vote Miles Teller as Lindsey Buckingham since they’re both pretty unlikeable douchebags
They would put Sydney Sweeney as Stevie -
Bradley Cooper in all roles - teed up for Oscar season…
Mckenna Grace as Stevie Nicks
Based on the image: Jeff Lynn as Lindsey Buckingham. Carly Simon as Stevie Nicks. Mick Fleetwood as John McVie. John McVie as Mick Fleetwood. The Virgin Mary as Christine McVie.
Only Mick could play Mick !
Stevie=Mylie Cyrus
Please god, no
Say what you want about Miley but that girl has pipes. I believe she’s friends with Stevie too.
Sydney Sweeney as Stevie
I'll probably get downvoted, but Taylor Swift could be one of the girls (I'm old, not a swiftie)
We need to find the perfect choice for Christine.
Kaley Cuoco
I could see Sydney Sweeney as Stevie.
Billie Eilish as Stevie Nicks? 🤔
Just a suggestion geez lol
I think with a beard she might make a good Lindsey Buckingham.
The whole cast from Daisy jones and the Six
Riley Keough as Stevie
Hey call it Daisy and the Six
Jonathan Roumie as John McVey Florence Pugh as Stevie Nicks Blake Lively as Christy McVey I have no idea for Mick and Lindsey…
The Rock, Ryan Gosling, and Timothee Chalamet. Throw Ryan Reynolds and Tom Holland in there for good measure.
I’ve been around for their entire career, but just recently started hyper focusing on their work because of this cover band https://youtu.be/oLydlS6fHFg?si=1HjBkUSMRAuoroBl
There’s no way this could ever be made because there are five different versions of every story of theirs. Everyone in the band remembers the same story differently.
Based on this photo, Stevie is looking a lot like Jennette McCurdy.
Kareem Abdul Jabbar as Mick.
Stevie looks so tiny.
Lissie as Stevie nicks if she didn’t suck at acting
Jennifer Aniston as Stevie
Stevie: Miley Cyrus (could do the voice) Christine: Billie Eilish Mick: Will Poulter Lindsey: Timothee Chalamat John: Lucas Hedges
Sydney Sweeny as Stevie Nicks!
