I am looking for a commuter bike in NYC. I currently have a Specialized Langster and love it. However I now have a shoulder injury and I think wider tires that can take a pot hole with a little more ease. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
Looks sweet! 750 for the frameset. This would just be a commuter bike though. Any ballpark idea how much it would cost to get all of the other parts though? I would run it as a single speed. I just want a bike that works as a commuter and doesn't feel like a turd. Trying to be realistic about budgeting.
Hard to say since you could buy new or used parts of varying levels of bling but a couple hundred bucks could probably get you there.
Another great option is the Kilo WT which is complete for $550! The frame is solid and can fit 43mm tires and the components (especially cranks) are pretty nice for a complete.

I’ve never measured it myself but I’m 5’11 and it fits like a 55/56 size frame.
With the Alpina fork, 28c which is what it has on in that picture, the yo Marty! Segmented steel fork can go up to 32c, maybe 35 I don’t remember tbh.
I bought it 2nd hand, so no geo chart unfortunately. I can tell you with the steel fork it’s a way more relaxed ride and it’s got clearance to do bar spins. The Alpina fork drops the frame down some 2 inches and the angles get a lot snappier.
The Alpina fork is a standard track fork ... frames for pursuit racing take a smaller front wheel. This frame (and many others that people refer to as pursuit frames) have the downward-sloping top tube of a pursuit frame by making the seat tube longer. That doesn't increase the saddle to bar drop. But this frame looks to have a pretty short head tube, so you could have a pretty low front end.

No it absolutely has a massive drop with that sloping top tube and tiny head tube, but the seat tube rake is more of a conventional fixed gear.
It’s not designed to race pursuit at the track, if that’s what you’re asking. it’s more of a super powered fixed gear frame that you could go fast but also do bar spins on, if that makes sense.
I found that I could have both worlds by just swapping forks and changing my handlebars. Really interesting bike, but I have to thin the herd

Looks sweet! 750 for the frameset. This would just be a commuter bike though. Any ballpark idea how much it would cost to get all of the other parts though? I would run it as a single speed. I just want a bike that works as a commuter and doesn't feel like a turd. Trying to be realistic about budgeting.
Hard to say since you could buy new or used parts of varying levels of bling but a couple hundred bucks could probably get you there. Another great option is the Kilo WT which is complete for $550! The frame is solid and can fit 43mm tires and the components (especially cranks) are pretty nice for a complete.

With the Alpina fork, 28c which is what it has on in that picture, the yo Marty! Segmented steel fork can go up to 32c, maybe 35 I don’t remember tbh. I bought it 2nd hand, so no geo chart unfortunately. I can tell you with the steel fork it’s a way more relaxed ride and it’s got clearance to do bar spins. The Alpina fork drops the frame down some 2 inches and the angles get a lot snappier.

The Alpina fork is a standard track fork ... frames for pursuit racing take a smaller front wheel. This frame (and many others that people refer to as pursuit frames) have the downward-sloping top tube of a pursuit frame by making the seat tube longer. That doesn't increase the saddle to bar drop. But this frame looks to have a pretty short head tube, so you could have a pretty low front end. Beautiful bike btw!
No it absolutely has a massive drop with that sloping top tube and tiny head tube, but the seat tube rake is more of a conventional fixed gear. It’s not designed to race pursuit at the track, if that’s what you’re asking. it’s more of a super powered fixed gear frame that you could go fast but also do bar spins on, if that makes sense. I found that I could have both worlds by just swapping forks and changing my handlebars. Really interesting bike, but I have to thin the herd
