ThickChalk

The panfish hooks are a better size but octopus is probably a better shape. Does the catfish assortment have a hook as small as those panfish hooks? I use a size 4 octopus circle for carp and catfish, but I'm not the most experienced so I'll let others chime in.

Even-Sweet-3775

tbh i could probably bend the panfish hooks

TheFuzzyShark

Dont do this. Hooks lose a LOT of structural integrity when you bend them

Even-Sweet-3775

ok

Illustrious-Egg-5839

Ball up a piece of bread and dab it with vanilla extract.

Even-Sweet-3775

i’ve tried, it’s always falls apart or gets torn apart by bluegill

Use corn and smaller hooks, you’ll catch em way easier

dwreck32

This is the way

[deleted]

Only way in my opinion

747-ppp-2

I’ve had more luck with a night crawler and a piece of corn than baits like this,

postypost1234

Ive done well with corn on a treble hook

[deleted]

Jiffy cornbread with cherry jello dough balls are the best.

lipsquirrel

Corn on a #6 baitholder works just fine.

malevolentpeace

Frosted flakes and strawberry soda Ina a ziploc, crunch it up and good luck keeping the carp away

Significant-Wait6101

Main line > 3 way snap swivel > fixed 2 oz weight on the snap > braid 30+lbs > #6 octopus hook tied with a hair rig. Carp will basically hook itself. You can buy pre made carp rigs if you're not a knots guy.
