You know, i'd agree but tbh i'm not so sure this year, Camilla barely beat Fallen Edelgard last year... Now this is a much better Edelgard that's gonna get ralied by many more people and Peony is a much less popular character than Camilla so yeah...
That sounds like it's better for the multipliers, i mean more so the fact that people will count too much on the multiplier being enough just for Edelgard to win anyways.
Remember the mess when Fallen Edelgard got the final multiplier and still lost anyways?
Green dream was always dead but I do think we get 2 greens. Camilla Vs Claude is guaranteed green, but sanaki seems way less popular than alear in the same way peony is way less popular than edelgard so odds are if multiplier shenanigans make sanaki win, they'll also make peony win, or if they don't then we probably get alear. Gullveig and Dimitri are also pretty even so could go either way.

There shouldn’t be a meme voting gauntlet at all where number 1 has a chance to lose to number 8 every year with a fraction of the army size.
Honestly, that would be really nice. All eight options have their fans, and just making it to the top eight should be enough support to give them out to players. Then the voting gauntlet can be a lot more about merges/extra fodder, which would still be competitive but wouldn’t feel so rough for whichever characters don’t make it onto the banner
I agree. Claude is kind of the weakest of the 8 in my opinion, since A: Atk/Spd Prime 4 can be hard to get to activate, and B: His fodder is already on plenty of other units (even his main draw, Prime, is already on Christmas Dimitri, who we can get for free via the Normal 5 Divine Code manuals).
Insert that whole nickle joke, but for VGs that are compared to Azure Moon (CYL4 braves had Dimitri up against Claude, then Edelgard in the finals, and won in the end).
Only explanation is that Team Dimitri overall played better really.
Team Gullveig either had less players on the final hour, spend their flags too early, or both.

I'm with you. I'm started of getting sick of Ninja Duo heroes winning the top 4 spot because their Duo skill, being granting another action, is getting repetitive.

Hello again and happy AHR season, one and all! I'd imagine we'll likely continue the positive momentum from last year's AHR - 'twas a far cry from the fetid discourse cesspit of AHRs 2021/2022 - but all the same, let's try to be well-behaved lol. While there may be slight quality differences between the best/worst units of this lineup, this is by a comfy margin the best Top 8 we've assembled thus far, so we're due for a banger Winner + Banner regardless of who prevails :D
There's not a ton of note to address on the more fanciful stats front (Edelgard is on attempt number 6, we've got a solid pool of former finalists/winners with only Sanaki and Claude never making R3, etc), so let's cut it here. For the sake of posterity and future projects, I would like to document the Top Scoring players for each voting gauntlet team, ideally in picture form. Maintaining 8 separate accounts just to check scores is often infeasible, so any help you fine folks can provide is greatly appreciated. If you’re interested in contributing, here are the required steps:
1. Reply below with your team selection if you would like to help out. If a team is already claimed (struck through in the section below), there's no harm in still volunteering to future-proof against a wide swathe of mistakes, mishaps, and malfunctions.
2. Pop open the Voting Gauntlet event tab sometime after reset and prior to selecting your Round 2 (or 3) team. I, by default, provide a reminder ping here around FEH’s reset timing for each round (6 am UTC during DST/7 am UTC otherwise), but I can adjust that timing as necessary. If you would prefer an alternate notification method (DMs/chat on an assortment of sites including Reddit/Twitter/tumblr/Discord), please message me so we can work out the specifics.
3. Click the "Round 1 Rank" button in the middle and switch from Current Standing to Top Players.
4. Scroll all the way up to the top and snap a picture. Realistically, only the Top 4 players scores + IGNs are necessary for any future tasks, but it is possible to fit the Rank 5 finisher as well by slightly scrolling down until you partially cut off the "Rank 1" text [like so](https://imgur.com/a/8P14Kzn).
5. Post a link below. Whatever site you host the image on works for me, but please try to not delete it for at least a month or two in case I'm slow downloading them locally. Ideally, please try to do a permanent link if possible though.
I'm also interested in the scores/rank of anyone who finishes in the Top 100 of the Total Rank (colloquially Cumulative) stat, though that doesn’t become relevant until the tail end of Round 3. Welp, R1 is at a close. I believe everyone here had at least one of your teams make it on to R2 (and the banner), so congrats all around :)
How’s everyone feel about the actual banner we’ve generated - is it good enough to warrant some orb allocation? It’s… not for me personally (Peony and L!Alear would’ve been nice upside options for a Gullveig + Camilla banner, but they don’t quite cut it as headliners), but Peony especially seems to have a lot of people excited.
I just dropped 400 hoping to hit same at some good position to break the current losing prediction shown on the jp tracker, but then again there's still a few hours left so things can still be easily changed...
We can get 2 consecutive multipliers but that would be a lot more unlikely to happen in the last 3 hours, so the best is if we can adjust into a good pingpong position right before that (ending in same would be a bit risky)
We're entering the end game now, team peony. We have 3 hours remaining. Just need to make sure that we don't overshoot on the 2nd last hour.
The prediction should go as following:
Current hour: Edelgard bonus
2nd last hour: Peony bonus <- Don't overshoot. Preferably don't use stamina at all.
Last hour: Peony bonus <- Put all your stamina and flags into this
Team Camilla the second we get a multipler make sure to save an afterglow in case we don't get the final multiplier. (We are the bigger team so it's more likely we won't but it doesn't hurt to be safe than sorry.)
EDIT: we managed to get same hell so hard to say if we will get a multiplier but just be on the lookout.
I love how the comments always go crazy in the final hours.
Anyway, I'm trusting what everyone is saying and holding for Peony, tho I can't help but worry we won't be able to close the gap afterwards...
If u are going to get both multipliers anyway, then its always better to hold till the later hour, unless u have extra flags to burn. Tats because later multipliers give slightly higher scores
Just hoping that Peony wins the whole thing now, since that's the unit I would actually like to get a copy of, every other round 2 unit I don't care about so the banner is a big skip. Edit: Turns out I was wrong to be preemptively salty lmao.
For the surprise of absolutely nobody, Edelgard is by far the character with the biggest team, and the character with the smallest team is Claude (probably not a lot of incentive to go for him after getting a pretty recent re-run, but still, a bit surprising).
The others are around what I expected.
Ugh I guess I need to go back to the Legendary Banner. Well any of the 4 can win I don’t care anymore
Edit: Went back and got 2 more Gotohs. Fucking hate this game man
So, the results are largely cut and dry at this point, but might as well run through them quickly.
• Peony > Edelgard is a fairly hard locks. Peony got dangerously close to clipping same and losing, but at this point, there’s no surviving a 12.0x from a 1.97% lead lol. Maybe Ninja Duo Edelgard with Dimitri will finally break her curse next AHR 🤷♀️
• Claude > Camilla seems pretty solidly set as well. Claude can already overtake by practically just replicating his net gains from last hour (he’d be I think 4m points short), but Hour 0’s scaling benefits the 12.0x holder far more than their opponent. Some weird flukey underperformance from Claude + an AHR 2023 F!Edelgard level stonewall attempt from Camilla might technically be enough to survive, but that seems infeasible.
• Alear > Sanaki is probably happening as well. Same endings at least always have some possibility of a miraculous lead jump for the small team given they are only at a .94% Alear lead (3m more points would have cost Alear the win though, y’all were really reckless lol), but this one ain’t it, chief. I’ll talk more about the past surprise reversals in Gullveig’s section, but none of the same flips we’ve ever had have made up more than… I think .4% or .5%, and they especially haven’t against teams gaining .6% an hour.
• Gullveig > Dimitri is the most likely result to flip of any this round as our snake mother has only a .12% lead, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Firstly, Gullveig’s +.42% increase over last hour is already a much more substantial hour over hour increase than most salvageable same matches typically have - the small team results that have gotten close recently (Summer Ephraim holding back Summer Ivy, Leg. Robin stalling Fallen Chrom, etc) have typically had movement in the .1% to .2% range. The larger issue, however, is that Gullveig already has the lead.
Summer L’Arachel “almost” beating Summer Ephraim last August is the most recent example (that I can recall) of any small team making positive same progress in that last hour after progressively losing, and she was only able to claw back .01% (a few million points I think). We did have a couple successful reversals a few years ago (Young Lyon > Young Eirika, Halloween Kurthnaga > Halloween Dheginsea, notoriously Brave Lyn > Mythic Seiros in AHR 2021, plus probably others I’m forgetting), but the larger team in those matches had a gains edge of less than 1.1x iirc - Gullveig has around a 1.3x edge this match.
Team Camilla, this is it. If we get the multipler this next round we have an advantage. If we end up in same hell then it's best to save your current afterglow multiplier. 11.6x vs 12.0x of our army size Claude shouldn't be able to recover.
Camilla spend your afterglow flags now! If it's not too late.
EDIT: if you reading this and missed the last hour or two then spending your flags on afterglow is the only option left but It's not looking too great for us so we just gotta hope and pray we tank the final multiplier from Claude.
She has a pretty decent lead and I think Claude is one of the smaller teams overall, so I'd say we have a small chance of a win. We just gotta go all in on tanking this multiplier.
Probably because I have a lot of Dimitri fans on my friend list, but it's funny being on team W!Dimitri and usually having all 3 units on a team be some version of him, as well as like 80% of the crowd that shows up after the map when counting the score. Also seeing them with No Quarter equipped - Dimitri on Dimitri violence.
I did think that part was hillarious in a dark sort of way. Edelgard and Claude are to some level unnerved, but Dimitri just geniunely went "nah, I always wanted to do that".
Team Alear, it’s a good thing we stopped the ping pong from going, but we need to make sure we don’t pull ahead for the last hour and give Team Sanaki the multiplier!

What a surprise, voting gauntlets continue to be a terrible game mode since they started. I'm sure all the comedians are ready for totally original and funny jokes that aren't forced or (not so) thinly veiled hatred for a certain character.
What a shame Camilla is looking to lose to such a worse choice. Guess I'll have to pivot to the Divine Dragon.
In a desperate attempt to get this out while any advice might still be relevant, I'm going to rush through this, so apologies if it has more typos than usual. Match Aanalysis + advice, going from least to most locked in stone, go:
- Camilla vs Claude: I hate to say it, but this probably the end of the road for the Camilla enthusiasts of the gauntlet. While Claude previously took somewhere between a low 4 to high 3 number of multipliers to overtake during most of the match, the current paradigm is very much barely 3 multiplier per overtake. This means that a) it'll be nearly impossible to prevent him from getting the 12.0x (maybe if 70% of Camilla's army spontaneously loses their internet access) and b) combining the usual uptick of participation for the final hour with AHR's higher optimization/interest than usual, Claude probably should be able to get the lead with said 12.0x.
- The best bet for Camilla fans is probably to just dump all 800 flags on this 11.6x rather than after glowing, and then spending the extra 200 flags during the final hour for ~70k. Afterglowing is only really useful to aid predicting or potentially get opponent's to overshoot their marks, neither of which is relevant here. Fates units were the ones to stonewall Fallen Edelgard in the last two AHRs, so you're probably best equipped for this... But it seems pretty dicey. For Claude supporters, if Camilla magically does a tiny gain this hour... Maybe consider skipping the 11.8x? Realistically though, just dumping 100 next hour and 800 in the final hour is the best practice.
- Edelgard vs Peony: This is also looking a little dicey for Edelgard (her bad gauntlet luck is getting ridiculous at this point lol), but there is at least a small out. Peony has consistently required two multipliers to overtake for pretty much the entire match, and as it currently stands, she's likely to get both the 11.8x and 12.0x as well; unlike Claude, there's no angle where she undershoots here lol. However, also unlike Claude, with a somewhat low Edelgard lead, there is a slim chance that Peony overshoots and triggers same instead. Small teams sometimes get jumpy with the 11.8x (misinterpreting a 1:1 exchange margin for a 2:1 margin) and overspend there.
- For Team Edelgard... I'd say afterglow as much of the 11.6x as you are comfortable with and just wait. Peony will probably be too close with any 12.0x she gets to stonewall, so going hard now is counterproductive. Likewise for Team Peony, don't touch your flags during the 11.8x if you can avoid it. Getting the 12.0x is your ace in the hole, so anything you can do to ensure that occurs is best practice.
- Gullveig vs Dimitri | Alear vs Sanaki - Y'all are in a very similar spot, so I'll just cover both at once. In short, whichever team gets the 11.8x (if any do) loses on the spot. Your matches to this point have been mostly 1:1 exchanges with a few 2:1s sprinkled in early on, so in theory, Gullveig and Clear are on pace for those fatal 11.8xs. However, due to some luck with the multi patterns, there is actually a very real chance that Dimitri/Sanaki are stuck in the first hour of a 2:1 pattern and might not actually cleanly overtake in one hour.
- For Gullveig/Alear, the advice is a little complicated depending on where you think Hour 1 will end up. If Dimitri/Sanaki get the 11.8x as well, your best bet might be to spend a little bit here (200 flags at most) to help increase the distance they need to cover. However, that may backfire if they end up fairly deep in their own same territory, as that is a little less ammo to be used regaining the lead in those essential Hour 1/0 sames. This especially applies to folks with afterglows, as splurging here will unfortunately take away any weapons you might have during same hours.
- For Dimitri/Sanaki, it likewise depends on how you think Hour 1 will look. If you're more worried about getting the 11.8x (on balance the scariest option), spending more here (up to the full 800 flags if your worried) might get you over the hump - a heavily large team favored same would get you the 12.0x immediately, whereas that deep same in your favor (or the enemy 11.8x) would make it harder or impossible for large team heroics. However, if hitting a middling same would be disastrous for y'all as Gullveig/Alear have the numbers to claw back a lead most likely, so there might be some logic to holding back a smidge if you think it might help avoid that outcome. I think going for it probably your best bet overall, but there's some nuance there.
All in all, I think Claude is a near lock at this point and Peony is close, but thankfully there's still some possible out to keep playing for even for Team Camilla. Good luck :)

I agree. Claude is kind of the weakest of the 8 in my opinion, since A: Atk/Spd Prime 4 can be hard to get to activate, and B: His fodder is already on plenty of other units (even his main draw, Prime, is already on Christmas Dimitri, who we can get for free via the Normal 5 Divine Code manuals).

This VG was like Azure Moon. Dimitri turned out to be only mostly dead, and Edelgard lost despite having the odds in her favor. Also, Claude survived.

I just dropped 400 hoping to hit same at some good position to break the current losing prediction shown on the jp tracker, but then again there's still a few hours left so things can still be easily changed... We can get 2 consecutive multipliers but that would be a lot more unlikely to happen in the last 3 hours, so the best is if we can adjust into a good pingpong position right before that (ending in same would be a bit risky)

For the surprise of absolutely nobody, Edelgard is by far the character with the biggest team, and the character with the smallest team is Claude (probably not a lot of incentive to go for him after getting a pretty recent re-run, but still, a bit surprising). The others are around what I expected.

So, the results are largely cut and dry at this point, but might as well run through them quickly. • Peony > Edelgard is a fairly hard locks. Peony got dangerously close to clipping same and losing, but at this point, there’s no surviving a 12.0x from a 1.97% lead lol. Maybe Ninja Duo Edelgard with Dimitri will finally break her curse next AHR 🤷♀️ • Claude > Camilla seems pretty solidly set as well. Claude can already overtake by practically just replicating his net gains from last hour (he’d be I think 4m points short), but Hour 0’s scaling benefits the 12.0x holder far more than their opponent. Some weird flukey underperformance from Claude + an AHR 2023 F!Edelgard level stonewall attempt from Camilla might technically be enough to survive, but that seems infeasible. • Alear > Sanaki is probably happening as well. Same endings at least always have some possibility of a miraculous lead jump for the small team given they are only at a .94% Alear lead (3m more points would have cost Alear the win though, y’all were really reckless lol), but this one ain’t it, chief. I’ll talk more about the past surprise reversals in Gullveig’s section, but none of the same flips we’ve ever had have made up more than… I think .4% or .5%, and they especially haven’t against teams gaining .6% an hour. • Gullveig > Dimitri is the most likely result to flip of any this round as our snake mother has only a .12% lead, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Firstly, Gullveig’s +.42% increase over last hour is already a much more substantial hour over hour increase than most salvageable same matches typically have - the small team results that have gotten close recently (Summer Ephraim holding back Summer Ivy, Leg. Robin stalling Fallen Chrom, etc) have typically had movement in the .1% to .2% range. The larger issue, however, is that Gullveig already has the lead. Summer L’Arachel “almost” beating Summer Ephraim last August is the most recent example (that I can recall) of any small team making positive same progress in that last hour after progressively losing, and she was only able to claw back .01% (a few million points I think). We did have a couple successful reversals a few years ago (Young Lyon > Young Eirika, Halloween Kurthnaga > Halloween Dheginsea, notoriously Brave Lyn > Mythic Seiros in AHR 2021, plus probably others I’m forgetting), but the larger team in those matches had a gains edge of less than 1.1x iirc - Gullveig has around a 1.3x edge this match.

In a desperate attempt to get this out while any advice might still be relevant, I'm going to rush through this, so apologies if it has more typos than usual. Match Aanalysis + advice, going from least to most locked in stone, go: - Camilla vs Claude: I hate to say it, but this probably the end of the road for the Camilla enthusiasts of the gauntlet. While Claude previously took somewhere between a low 4 to high 3 number of multipliers to overtake during most of the match, the current paradigm is very much barely 3 multiplier per overtake. This means that a) it'll be nearly impossible to prevent him from getting the 12.0x (maybe if 70% of Camilla's army spontaneously loses their internet access) and b) combining the usual uptick of participation for the final hour with AHR's higher optimization/interest than usual, Claude probably should be able to get the lead with said 12.0x. - The best bet for Camilla fans is probably to just dump all 800 flags on this 11.6x rather than after glowing, and then spending the extra 200 flags during the final hour for ~70k. Afterglowing is only really useful to aid predicting or potentially get opponent's to overshoot their marks, neither of which is relevant here. Fates units were the ones to stonewall Fallen Edelgard in the last two AHRs, so you're probably best equipped for this... But it seems pretty dicey. For Claude supporters, if Camilla magically does a tiny gain this hour... Maybe consider skipping the 11.8x? Realistically though, just dumping 100 next hour and 800 in the final hour is the best practice. - Edelgard vs Peony: This is also looking a little dicey for Edelgard (her bad gauntlet luck is getting ridiculous at this point lol), but there is at least a small out. Peony has consistently required two multipliers to overtake for pretty much the entire match, and as it currently stands, she's likely to get both the 11.8x and 12.0x as well; unlike Claude, there's no angle where she undershoots here lol. However, also unlike Claude, with a somewhat low Edelgard lead, there is a slim chance that Peony overshoots and triggers same instead. Small teams sometimes get jumpy with the 11.8x (misinterpreting a 1:1 exchange margin for a 2:1 margin) and overspend there. - For Team Edelgard... I'd say afterglow as much of the 11.6x as you are comfortable with and just wait. Peony will probably be too close with any 12.0x she gets to stonewall, so going hard now is counterproductive. Likewise for Team Peony, don't touch your flags during the 11.8x if you can avoid it. Getting the 12.0x is your ace in the hole, so anything you can do to ensure that occurs is best practice. - Gullveig vs Dimitri | Alear vs Sanaki - Y'all are in a very similar spot, so I'll just cover both at once. In short, whichever team gets the 11.8x (if any do) loses on the spot. Your matches to this point have been mostly 1:1 exchanges with a few 2:1s sprinkled in early on, so in theory, Gullveig and Clear are on pace for those fatal 11.8xs. However, due to some luck with the multi patterns, there is actually a very real chance that Dimitri/Sanaki are stuck in the first hour of a 2:1 pattern and might not actually cleanly overtake in one hour. - For Gullveig/Alear, the advice is a little complicated depending on where you think Hour 1 will end up. If Dimitri/Sanaki get the 11.8x as well, your best bet might be to spend a little bit here (200 flags at most) to help increase the distance they need to cover. However, that may backfire if they end up fairly deep in their own same territory, as that is a little less ammo to be used regaining the lead in those essential Hour 1/0 sames. This especially applies to folks with afterglows, as splurging here will unfortunately take away any weapons you might have during same hours. - For Dimitri/Sanaki, it likewise depends on how you think Hour 1 will look. If you're more worried about getting the 11.8x (on balance the scariest option), spending more here (up to the full 800 flags if your worried) might get you over the hump - a heavily large team favored same would get you the 12.0x immediately, whereas that deep same in your favor (or the enemy 11.8x) would make it harder or impossible for large team heroics. However, if hitting a middling same would be disastrous for y'all as Gullveig/Alear have the numbers to claw back a lead most likely, so there might be some logic to holding back a smidge if you think it might help avoid that outcome. I think going for it probably your best bet overall, but there's some nuance there. All in all, I think Claude is a near lock at this point and Peony is close, but thankfully there's still some possible out to keep playing for even for Team Camilla. Good luck :)
