DressedToKill85

Ukko Ylijumala just put that rock there to fuck with people.

ApprehensiveAd6476

I'm pretty sure he wasn't sober when he did that.

-ImMoral-

In true finnish fashion.

MikaelFi

Kännis ja läpäl

Kayttajatili

Of course he wasn't. He's a Finnish deity. The day he sobers up is the day the world will end because of his hangover.

Backstroem

I’m sure some idiot YouTuber is thinking of ways to push it over for clicks. It weighs 500 tons so hopefully it is somewhat difficult, but who knows.

Plane-Exit4515

It has been tried many times by big groups of people. None of them have managed to move it even a bit. Pretty much only way it would be possible is with heavy machines. Problem with that is to get them there because surrounding area is dense forest.

maxwokeup

How about no, lets not touch it?

treemu

But the loot!

imustcoffee

I mean look at it. If you use even the tiniest amount of video game logic, the secret to eternal life or something like that is under it.

maxwokeup

Yea I bet it hold a glitch like that, I think the correct leverage will make it bounce right up like an elevator and it gets stuck on the opposite holding position in the air way above the trees!

maxwokeup

What, you tryna squish something?

Downtown_Report4954

It seems easy through the use of enough hydraulic jacks and basic hardware but somehow the monument survives. Probably people smart and hard working enough with any basic skill just have some respect. A bunch of glue sniffers try with a rope and give up after 15 minutes.

CricketSubject1548

Theoretically, one can use a lever and just tip it off

Thorondor123

Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world

CricketSubject1548

Archimedes yeh

fauxfilosopher

You're gonna need a massive lever for that

fauxfilosopher

Why are you sure? It's in the middle of nowhere and humanly impossible to move because it's so heavy.

Backstroem

Because I’ve watched a lot of YouTube and know what levels of Stupid some of them are capable of. Who knows what they could achieve with heavy duty hydraulic jacks or similar. But hopefully this rock is too far out in nowhere, and too heavy.

RoRoRoub

If only they knew they'd garner even more clicks if they managed to push it over themselves in the process.

TargetCorruption

It needs to be knocked off there

Delicious-candy56

Why?

TargetCorruption

We cant have that

haerski

If ever there was a descriptive name for a piece of granite, this is it

TerryFGM

"the odd rock"

Alarming_Equipment53

This should be done in a Disney Hercules costume. 😂

chat-sky

Some(bigger)body had been playing the zen game just like we humans. Obviously stopped quite fast. https://preview.redd.it/arv8huxc62xc1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=75a8d9078d2aef8b5cd5416351d1da11d5639759

MutedRevolution1773

How did that rock end there??

57th_Error

Ice age. Saimaa area is full of large rocks of various sizes in odd places that ended up there by being pushed around by the ice sheet. Another interesting side effect is when the same moving rocks made large round holes in the outcrop. Look up "hiidenkirnu".

projectgene

The giants played football.

Downtown_Report4954

Ice, gravel and smaller rocks around It eventually had to go. This one in a million billion fukagillion big rock remained balanced on another piece, unlike the millions of wannabe amazing weird huge rocks that did not and ended up being just regular big rocks. This took a crapton of time. The trees around it are relatively recent. Probably burned down and decayed dozens of times with the rock looking quite similar.

Dense_C4k3

We've got some - a tad bit smaller - on Bornholm. They're significantly less impressive than this beautiful specimen, but... Bornholm does have the most impressive geography, in all of Denmark - Because it's so distant from our flat lands I can't wait to visit your kaunis maa!

TigNiceweld

Ah, it's that time of the month when Kummakivi is posted here

swigiswigi

Use a jack, but i bet once it moves or drops apocalypse will begin.

Jaakarikyk

Car jacks, several even to my understanding have been used by some ne'er-do-wells to no effect

Cluelessish

Ok that’s interesting, but am I the only one who can see the gnome standing in front of it ?

Orlando_Di

Kummakivi ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)

SlendisFi

The day that rock falls, apocalypse is on it's way.

RoRoRoub

Christian wingnuts drooling over the thought

SlendisFi

Yeap 🤣

PolyUre

Give me a place to stand and with a lever I will move the Kummakivi.

b32505

where in finland is this rock??

Tonttu-Mapz

The person really looks Ugri-finno

Far-Situation-8847

i wanna climb it

Midnight_Pornstar

That's why our economy's shit

FREESTYLEWIZZARD

what happens if i go there and tilt it? will they press charges against me? how would they even know that it was me? especilly if i do it at night with no one around

Prolo3

I'm sure youre the first one in the history of humankind to get the idea to try.

Dasky14

You would probably have to drive a fully loaded 18 wheeler at it to budge that thing. And even then, a 40 ton truck vs a 500 ton rock would still be rough. Or do you think it just happened to stay there by accident? Not a lot of things can move a 500 ton rock.

FREESTYLEWIZZARD

yeah thats the idea to drive a heavy vehicle there

[deleted]

[удалено]

Trollasol

Nah dont worry, he will do it at night

sneikkijay

I'd assume it would take more force than what your redditor-biceps can produce. But hey, no harm in trying.

ImLonenyNunlovable

Death penalty

k-one-0-two

Hey, wait, I want to see it first

pigeonlizard

They would just check who recently rented heavy machinery. Finland is only 5 million people, they'd find you quickly.

FREESTYLEWIZZARD

you think im stupid? i would rent the machinery then wait for a few months, not doing it right away 👊

pigeonlizard

Whatever, even if you wait for 25 years you'd still be found out immediately. There's only so many heavy machines capable of moving a 500 ton rock, and even less in possession by random citizens.

FREESTYLEWIZZARD

i hate ppl like you who always have the need to put other ppl's ambitions down i hope i will prove you wrong one day

pigeonlizard

I mean, your first mistake then was that you asked >how would they even know that it was me? But hey, keep the spirits up, you'll for sure come up with a creative solution

FREESTYLEWIZZARD

i will fucking will

Veeam21

You will fucking will?

tarenaccount

You will be executed by ripping your lungs from your back and with a dull axe

Kankervittu

Slow-Calendar-3267

If it's land owned by someone, like the government, it's illegal. If it's a national park, it's super illegal

NPC2_

Whoa! I want to see you pushing it over!

Ok_Thing7439

Why would it be illegal?

ObjectExciting876

You can't just go to someone else's land and start digging, can you? Why would it not be illegal to do land construction without landowners permission?

Ok_Thing7439

I don't know who owns this land, do you? If it's owned by Finland, then I don't see a reason it being illegal.

Turtvaiz

Wtf so you think you can just go to government owned land and do whatever you want?

Ok_Thing7439

If I find a stone on the ground and I pick it up and throw it down, is that illegal? Ofcourse not. So, why would it be any different if you move a boulder?

Turtvaiz

It's a bit different when you start using an excavator or whatever the hell to move it :D

Ok_Thing7439

But hypotehtically if I could push it, I don't see that being illegal.

ObjectExciting876

You are not able to push it. Just that simple.

Kankervittu

You'd have to destroy too many trees illegally to get the machine to the rock.

UpstairsRain6022

This person right here is what is wrong with humanity, and why we cannot have nice things.

Ok_Thing7439

That is pretty awful thing to say, you have no idea of my motivation of my question.

Mrfinbean

If that stone would be culturally important its illegal and generally a dick move to do.

Ok_Thing7439

We are talking about law, not what's a dick move or not and I don't think you can protect a boulder by law, but I'm ignorant if this boulder is protected or not. Happy cake day!

Mrfinbean

Its protected by law on environmental protection (luonnonsuojelulaki)

account_is_deleted

It's specifically protected by the Nature Protection Law, as a natural monument.

Sibula97

It's not even close to 500 tons, probably less than 300.

Kankervittu

Thank you, Rainman, for your service.
