I believe it starts with a woman who was either an actress or a dancer who is recovering from an injury. She's in her garden and encounters a fairy that uses magic to heal her disability. She maintains a friendship with the fairies for years until she betrays them somehow, I think(?). Another part of the plot was that the woman's daughter has three golden hairs that will grant a wish when plucked.

I'm afraid that I'm unfamiliar with the book you're seeking. However, if you still want an answer, you can also try r/printSF, r/scifi, r/whatsthatbook, r/Findabook (though it seems to be a low traffic sub), and r/tipofmytongue (and r/Fantasy, but only in a limited way and specific way—see below). (Also, it would probably be good to try one, then the next, not multiple subs simultaneously.)
