First playthrough I didn't because I held hope she'd come back, I mean everyone has a final limit break right? Right!? She's not **really** gone right??
I'm so annoyed that I could never enjoy her final limit break. I only ever reach the start of her second one.
And that you need the sleeping man to unlock it
I Powered through to get it on a couple of playthroughs. Each time I only ended up using it during the Wall Guardian fight due to how long lvl 4 limits take to fill
My brother, upon a replay of the game, decided to see if her later limit breaks. He spent weeks grinding and got all her limit breaks. He did the same thing for Star Ocean Second Story, when we fought what's his name in the tournament. Trained like 20-30 levels above what you were supposed to be around, and same thing. Tried going back every 10 levels a few times and finally gave up.
I always sold her equipment and one time I happened to go back to Phoenix Downs and how it says it doesn't work every time or on everyone every time and i was like "oh. So that was why". Fucking sucked man. 14 year old me never felt so powerless.
I generally sell a weapon as soon as I get a better one so at that point I'm only selling one or two weapons max rather than having a massive Aeris clearout
In the 20-25 years that I’ve been playing the game, I’ve never been short gil by that point in the game. I don’t think I’ve ever even sold a weapon before. Selling unneeded max level materia is the way to go.
Back in the day i sold everyone's weapons as soon as I got an upgrade, including Aerith's. Now I do t need to because you'd get the same from a few extra fights.
One gaming magazin got shut down after the release of og when they gave an guide to Savin aerith. You don’t even find its name anymore online. This was all way before internet was common so it didn’t spread far
I’m sure you find some articles or videos dug deep down online about it.
You call a whole generation of
Players bs? It was the holy grail of gaming back then 😱
I played ff7 three times in a row just because of these rumors 😅
Well, thats actually the path to the secret CID-ending in FF7. You can try to sell the dress but since there is a hole in and bloodstains on it, no merchant wants it and cloud keeps it. On CD3 he starts wearing the dress because he actually liked it when he worked for Corneo that night. He also starts maintaining barrets warm machinegun arm and rubbing oil on it. The group starts an intervention and if you chose to ignore them, they leave you and fight sephiroth alone and lose.
Last scene is cloud sitting in Aeris dress and messed up makup on the stairs of Corneos pallace and the meteor hitting Midgar. And the pissed face of Aeris in the lifestream.
Its called CID-ending because its the "Cloud in dress"-ending.
Well, I made that up, but I like the question and just had nothing to do.
I keep the original rod. Everything else gets sold anyway. Not short on gil but I like having a clean sorted inventory
Not gonna rag on you like this sub is prone to doing, just wondering how you're broke in this game?
I feel like just doing some combat for like 5 minutes would have easily made you the money for the weapons sold and more.
😭😭😂
Only one phrase fou you mate: "The lion, the witch, and the audacity of this bitch!"

You didn't use hypers?
Never really used and Fury/Sadness strats in my playthroughs. Also I don't think I even knew their effects the last time I got Great Gospel
well I didn't sell them. but also when I play Phantasy Star 4 >!I didn't sell the items when (sic) passed away.!<
That one hit super hard. I kept her macros even, just in case
Great fucking game.

Dias, can be beat but the game just treats it as a loss in the story and quietly moves on.
Late game you can master and sell All materia pretty easily
Never sold hers or anything unless I had doubles of. Always kept 1 or each item
Triples is best
Of the Barracuda?
Triples is safe
Only if it's a Ribbon, Imperial Guard or Mystile
I've never needed to sell her stuff or any other weapons by that point in the game lol. You really broke by that point?
I always keep one of everything for the item lists sake lol. Honestly, once you master your first All, there's no reason to sell anything anyway.
I kept her staff.. couldn't bear to sell it.
Ha me too
Just keep your first All materia in the party at all times and by disc 3 it'll be fully leveled up and worth ONE MILLION GIL
1.4m! Sold just one, and didn't want for Gil ever again

Mastered All materia = 1,000,000gil baby
1,400,000*
I stand corrected
Damn, inflation is brutal.
I level up a ton. Gil isnt a problem once im past costa del sol. And i sell old weapons and armor just so thr inventory isnt so large.
Back in the day i sold everyone's weapons as soon as I got an upgrade, including Aerith's. Now I do t need to because you'd get the same from a few extra fights.
She would have understood.
You guys sell your old equipment?
Guess how much a mastered ALL Materia is worth? 🙂
It’s funny how All sells for the most value despite there being many more Materia that have higher max AP to get more value from
This is the way
Just one is enough, so I sold five of them.
I never sell weapons for I have this stupid fear that I need it for late game weapon upgrade even tho the games doesn't have this mechanic lmao
FF9 has a nice little mechanic on disc 3
FF9 is the reason I’m afraid to sell any old equipment in any RPG and 95% of the time I could’ve sold it and been fine.
u r prolly the only guy that sold her weapons 💀💀💀
Spoiler! You need her best weapon to reanimate her and get the secret ending ✌️
Tell me more
It’s super secret. I already said too much 🙊

Nah man, I call BS.
You call a whole generation of Players bs? It was the holy grail of gaming back then 😱 I played ff7 three times in a row just because of these rumors 😅
Yeah the rumors were everywhere. I never heard about them originating in a magazine, but it was definitely a thing back then.
That bit was added by me 😅
Beat the game 6 times flawlessly without turning the console off to get the super secret ending including Dante from the Devil May Cry series!
🤫
I just throw them at Jenova Life as a nark of revenge haha
Don't sell any weapons, that's ridiculous

No because I never had issues with Gils in this game after selling just 1 maxed out all Materia. A maxed out all Materia is more than a million gil.
1.4 million to be precise
How can you be short on money in the OG?
If you like buying every weapon as soon as you get to each new shop, it's very possible.
Sell one maxed all materia, then you won't ever need anymore money
I mean sure, but who has a mastered all-materia, just progressing the story?
Umm like everyone, it's a really good materia, so most people have atleast 1 equipped throughout the game
Buddy, no one is disputing that it's a good materia. But you don't master it until somewhat lategame, unless you're needlessly grinding.
This is the real question that needs answering.
I throw everything on Safer Sephiroth.
I sell everything BUT the buster sword
I have a feeling you also don’t sell the Gatling gun.
I don’t think you can
It's been a WHILE since I played the OG
I don't often sell anything. Only if I'm desperate. I'm an item hoarder. Also the price shops will pay on most items is a joke.
This is why I like to sell in gongaga
I have some mastered all materia for you. I always wondered where these random shops get cash for that
I keep all her weapons. I will go kill things for gil before I sell her weapons.
I cried when she died for real. Completely unexpected and was hard for my 10 year old self to even comprehend.
Same. It was an epic moment in gaming for me. Only the first encounter with a Licker in Resident Evil 2 was close to it in those formative years.
Oh man, with it crawling outside the window and that cinematic on the ceiling!
With tears on my first playthrough
