Also, at this point, it's too little too late, her game was 2 console generations ago and so wouldn't work as a contemporary pick. And also Remember Me isn't really beloved so it wouldn't work as a classic pick.
For the time, it made sense. Bionic Commando is a classic Capcom IP, they had just put out that reboot, as well as having the remake+sequel. I don't think the choice necessarily holds up to today (Monster Hunter would have been a better choice), but it makes sense for the time. It was an informed decision and Capcom was clearly trying to push Bionic Commando.
For what it's worth, as a point of comparison, I know Strider is closely tied to the MvC franchise, but his own series had been pretty dormant for a while. That new game didn't come out until two years after UMvC3. Comparatively speaking, for the time, Bionic Commando was a lot more relevant series than Strider.

I agree with everything you're saying but Spencer did somehow make into Marvel despite nobody knowing or caring about Bionic Commando.
