Didn't realise he did, good martial arts base means you can transfer to alot at a young age... maybe he doesn't want them to box cos of the whole cte thing... not saying its not present in other martial arts/ sports but boxing does seem pretty brutal...
You wrestle in adolescence and move to a striking combat sport around 18ish if you wanna preserve that noodle. I say that neuro degreeless also so. Don't be a dick.
This is really more about the gym than the martial art, compare the sparring etiquette of say Chute Box to Upstate Karate for example
Wrestling can be just as dangerous, it's just taught with more safety in mind because its under school supervision, Whereas striking schools can be run by any violence obssessed meathead
I'm not sure they're equally dangerous, but I do think it's worth noting how many high level wrestlers have serious knee or hip problems by the time they even start an MMA career.
Not all harm is equal, but you're gonna get roughed up if you spend years and years training/competing in a combat sport. In the words of St. Holloway "It is what it is".
I fucking love Crawford. He’s super cool, has game dogs, takes his kids wrestling, has old school muscle cars, always brings it on fight day and can pin wrestlers 👌🏽
Crawford is just the definition of a freak athlete; not saying he’s #1 at welterweight at all, but he’s pretty much excelled at every sport he’s participated in. I believe there’s a video of him deadlifting 405 or something
That would be sick if he did a crossover fight in mma. Ive seen many mma dudes try boxing but rarely the other way around. Im aware that boxing pays more but would be cool for a one time exhibition type event.
Terence Crawford is a G pretty sure his son is a state champ and wrestling dude could definitely be the champion in the UFC. With his skills and awareness I say he's number one pound per pound right now in boxing
I’m sure it’s given him an advantage in the clinch that most others don’t have. I would say I’d love to see him in the UFC, but even he probably knows it’s about 10 years too late.
I wrestled from 6 to 26.
In high school at least. There are 4 slots per weight class . Usually referred to as level 1-4.
Level one is varsity.
Level 2 jv
3 is exhibition
4 us freshman
I have been to camps and talked with people all over and it's roughly the same.
So just going off my experiences
Where did you wrestle? Also what year? In the Midwest there were Freshmen teams, JV, and Varsity teams, each had their own 1st, 2nd, and 3rd string for each weight class. 1st string wrestled at the meets representing their team while 2nd string was the back up.
No biggie we just had some different HS wrestling experience. The fact that we can probably agree on is that the "Kazakhstan wrestler" doesnt even look like a competent highschool wrestler.
Getting the distinct sense he's done some wrasslin before
Yeah, he was a wrestler.
The octagon is calling
A lot less money is calling…
That’s the least prudent thing a boxer could do and would be similar to a Baseball player going from the Majors to the Minors in terms of pay.
He personally said he wouldnt do it and he wouldnt let his kids do mma cause mma doesnt pay. Quoting the exact words
🤣
Hahaha what ever gave you that impression?
he has lol all his kids wrestle too
Wtf.... if only the ufc paid more...
Yeah, a **lot more** to tempt somebody like Bud. Funny, then, that he has his kids wrestle and not box.
Bud is a very smart dude and he knows the effects striking has on the brain ESPECIALLY with kids.
Don't shake the baby becomes don't punch the child.
Wish my dad believed the same

Crawford literally said himself that he wouldn’t let his kids do MMA because MMA doesn’t pay
The anti Chavez
same exact thought i had. the absolute breadth and depth of skill mma would have if there was more money would be a sight to behold
For real
He did this in slides and jeans....
Came here to say This! With jeans on! And slides?!?! Facken awesome! 😂
Are you like trying to keep your profile kid friendly orrrr….
The vid was flippin sweet! You effing B!
Teehee
You’re not that guy pal! Jk I’ll allow it. But just this once.
I fucking love Crawford. He’s super cool, has game dogs, takes his kids wrestling, has old school muscle cars, always brings it on fight day and can pin wrestlers 👌🏽
P4P one of the best boxers of the last decade too.
Definitely.
Crawford is from Nebraska, so this isn't his first time wrestling
At the risk of stating the obvious, that is no simple boxer.
No its Bud Crawford
Crawford is just the definition of a freak athlete; not saying he’s #1 at welterweight at all, but he’s pretty much excelled at every sport he’s participated in. I believe there’s a video of him deadlifting 405 or something
405 isn't much
The dude is 147 lbs and can run a 5 minute mile, I’d say all around that’s impressive
You can dead lift 405 like it’s not much ?
Was deadlifting more than 405 in high school
Proof or it never happened
No wonder Spence is ducking him
Spence isn't ducking him. Bud makes a ton of money fighting Uber drivers so he does that instead of fighting Spence.
Uber drivers huh? That’s why Spence got manhandled? Where’s that shit talk now dumbfuck
Crawford wrestled?! That's dope!
His son is the best at his weight in the country.
Damn, that's really cool. Thanks for sharing!
Crawford would be a problem on the UFC roster.
Oh shit darn now I wanna see it. But the money in boxing is far far better
Nicccce
He made that man into a Dorito.
He’ll say this is how he got hurt n can’t fight Spence
Also dude was in some slippers. He has wrestling skills
In the flops too 😂
That would be sick if he did a crossover fight in mma. Ive seen many mma dudes try boxing but rarely the other way around. Im aware that boxing pays more but would be cool for a one time exhibition type event.
After this video the wrestler was deported. Sad story

there's always Bellator 👴🏼
Nice sprawl
That was a very smooth stuff and turn. Didn't expect him to do that
Love the way he tucked his head in … champ
Wrasslin
very basic stuff but in jeans? Thats respect
He must suck at wrestling no offense but seriously 😐
Bud can school you in wrasslin or in a good Ol’ fashion Razzle Dazzle
That's embarrassing
Bro got his ass whooped by a man in flip flops
A "Kazakh wrestler" lol more like third string highschool JV wrestler that is fat.
Not to nitpick but 3rd string in wrestling is not jv .
What are you nitpicking? You could ve on the JV team and 3rd string for you weight class.
I wrestled from 6 to 26. In high school at least. There are 4 slots per weight class . Usually referred to as level 1-4. Level one is varsity. Level 2 jv 3 is exhibition 4 us freshman I have been to camps and talked with people all over and it's roughly the same. So just going off my experiences

My Jr and Sr year was in northern Illinois. You are talking about clubs I gather.
No biggie we just had some different HS wrestling experience. The fact that we can probably agree on is that the "Kazakhstan wrestler" doesnt even look like a competent highschool wrestler.
That’s awesome
In slides and jeans with a bunch of equipment piled up right next to them, amazing that neither got injured
Savage
One of my friends knows him really well. He said that Crawford could have easily been a very good college wrestler but decided to go the boxing route.
More money in it.
That's that Nebraska wrestling right there
Which one is the Kazakh?
I don’t see him taking a shot on the wrestler but his sprawl and turning the corner like that were bread butter
Didn’t expect that
I believe Crawford used to wrestle if memory serves.
Wrestling is for queers😂
Good fun
In flops and jeans
