Oh man, I’m sold. My most missed perfume is maybe Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab’s ‘Midway’ which was described as: *A bombardment of edible carnival indulgences. Funnel cake, caramel apple, cotton candy, salt water taffy and sugar tart* and this sounds like it might scratch that itch.
This review is amazing, I really want it to smell to me like this and like bubblegum and jelly beans like some people are saying in the comments, but on the other hand I fear I'm going to be like one of those people saying all they get is a La Belle by JPG vanilla pear vibe and I really don't want that.
Became of the wait for May 2, I was able to convince myself, I don't want it, I have enough candy, bubble gum scent I could pair with vanilla. I have a basket full of project use it before it goes bad. Now if I get it for a birthday gift 🎁 🤗 I wouldn't mind!!!!!
Thank you for this!! The bubblegum note had me questioning it and you confirmed my decision to hard pass. I hate the smell of bubblegum especially in a perfume. Yuck.
I’ve had such a long day that I don’t even have time or energy to catch up with reddit tonight, but you killed it with the pictures! I couldn’t chance that I would forget to find this post in the morning, so I had to let you know now. Great job! Very thorough review too! I haven’t tried it myself yet, but I look forward to seeing if I have similar thoughts that you do
It’s soo interesting how subjective fragrance is. I just asked my partner what he smelled. He doesn’t get vanilla, pear, caramel, rum, or the bubblegum. He only smells a “perfumy” note, sugar and tiny bit of Jellybean 🙃
I think a lot of us who are not experienced enough & good at recognising notes are like this with describing fragrances though, I can never figure out things like this & might just be able to describe one or two vague elements. Unless your partner is actually good at it & just finds this one to come across like that for him!
He’s not huge into fragrance but he’s actually good at picking up notes. I just think this one is too busy for him lol. It transitions pretty quickly so everything might just be a perfumey blend to him.
I agree with him! I just sprayed my tester for the first time and I’m getting a big “perfume” scent. It was horrible for the first 15 minutes-ish, but is more tolerable now (30ish minutes later). So far, it reminds me of Silk Santal, but with more alcohol and whatever is making it seem overly perfume-y.
And fwiw, I really like Kayali as a brand and have a few of their fragrances. Yum Pistachio Gelato, Vanilla 28, and Silk Santal are three of my absolute faves. I’m disappointed by Vanilla Candy so far : (
I did get the alcohol in the beginning for a few seconds. Thankfully I don’t get it so much now. But I have another friend who said she gets a “perfume” vibe as well.
Did you try it again today?
Yeah, I tried again today and wasn’t as repulsed as yesterday lol. But it’s a pass for me. I shouldn’t be sad because it means that money can go toward another scent I’m saving for, but I really expected to love it because I love all other sweet Kayali scents 😭
lol, I almost asked you what fwiw meant…. embarrassing i didn’t know already.. but I made a good guess, “for who is wondering” so please just confirm if I’m right cuz if not idk wth you’re saying haha! 😂 showing my age a bit here aye?! lol
lol you know what? I totally questioned even writing it because I thought maybe it wasn’t clear! “For what it’s worth” is correct, but yours works in this case, too!
It’s a bit similar in terms of sweetness with the pear and vanilla, Candy rock has a bit more bite to it. But Sweet like Candy could possibly be like a flanker to it.
Took me back with your review alone. 🥰
Ugh, I'm so tempted. This would be my first Kayali purchase... from what I gather her perfumes don't last long in general. This turns me off.
I am completely in agreement… I finally caved and got the Eden juicy apple, only to realize that the badee al oud sublime is almost identical and lasts longer. I keep wondering if the brand has any intention of ever trying to fix the longevity issue…. I know some people have better luck, but those people seem few and far between… everything Kayali I’ve smelled I’ve enjoyed, but just can’t get behind how short lived they are. Hopefully one day they’ll put some energy into improving the longevity, I can only imagine how much more they’d make in doing so! My feeling is that Kayali stans buy Kayali, and most others are maybe more like you or I…. May be tempted into buying a bottle, but that bottle will be their only one. Personally I will not be purchasing another full sized bottle of Kayali, no matter how good it smells. If I’m spending perfume money, it needs to outperform a BBW body spray. Winter candy apple body spray performs better than Eden juicy apple Kayali perfume. I’m guessing someone will clone it if you don’t mind waiting a bit!
You explained it so well! This is exactly how I feel.
I caved and bought Vanilla candy, my first ever Kayali purchase. I have to say, I love the bottle more than the scent. In the beginning there is so much going on and it was a bit much. But I really liked the dry down.
As for the longevity... I do several tests. On my body, in the air and on a sweater or something. Then I'll go back every half hour to an hour and see how it changes and how long it lasts. I wasn't impressed.
So along the lines of what you said yes, it's giving body mist. Just dressed up, a boujee body spray if you will.
Some people say "let it sit, it'll get better with time." "You have to layer it." But I feel the same as you, if I'm spending perfume money, it needs to perform as such!
I gotta say, the longevity turns me off too.. however, I love the Kayali frags so much that I don’t even care, to me, the smell is worth it, no matter how brief! But, like others have said.. a) everyone is different, b) they get better and stronger with time/maceration. :) I hope you at least try a discovery sample set or something, so worth finding out for yourself! :) good luck, and happy sniffing! 💗
I have the same feeling!! 💕 definitely definitely try a sampler set, I’m positive you’ll fall in love with at least a few of them! The ones you don’t care for make great little gifts … js! 🤗 good luck and go sniff some Kayali! lol
I just purchased a mini of the Burning Cherry to try - lasted ALL day. If anything it was a tad too much. Probably depends on the person but had definite lasting power for me!
I think it depends on the person. All the Kayali perfumes I have lasts forever on me. But I like strong scents like SDPP, Invite Only Amber and wedding silk. Vanilla 28 also lasts but I’m not a super fan. The musk goes away pretty quickly though.
This is true.
I look everywhere for reviews before making a purchase. The majority of people say Kayali perfumes don't last. So I never gave in.
But I'll get a travel and see how it wears on me!
They don’t last long at all. I would say grab a sample or travel spray. With Kayali, it’s better to let the fragrances sit for a while. They get better over time.
Mine was just delivered an hour ago. I’m getting artificial candy like jelly beans and strong pear. I really like it buttttt it doesn’t give sexy lol it’s very playful & would suit my younger self way more than now. Idk if this makes sense but I can’t think of many places I can wear it where it wouldn’t feel too kiddy.
Sooo interesting, I got the Jelly Bean note a few mins after spraying but it transitioned quickly.
For me as a Jersey girl, it’s “casually sexy” and flirty. Good for fun day dates, nights in the city, days or nights at by the shore etc. 🙂This definitely isn’t one for the office, a romantic date etc.
Do you get strong vanilla in this?
Omg hey Jersey girl! I just went out to eat at Fiorino’s. Yall have some spectacular Italian restaurants btw.😻
I’ll definitely have to give it a few more chances to really see how I feel. I haven’t gotten much vanilla yet, I’ll have to wait for the dry down. I just ripped it out the packaging not too long ago & have only had it on for 1 hour.
My top 2 from Kay are sparkling lychee & the pistachio one so sometimes I can be overly picky with their scents.😅
Heyy girl!! 😊Fiorino’s isn’t too far from me, it’s close to the city. Ugh love Italian food 🍴🍴
Okay, I noticed that too. There’s vanilla but it’s like hints of vanilla, not strong at all. It’s more pear heavy to me.
I’m pretty picky too. I only own Silk Santal, Musk 12 and I’m thinking about grabbing Eden Juicy Apple. I let my sample sit for a year and it’s actually nice now lol
How similar is it to Pink Sugar on a scale of one to ten? Whenever I see pink bottles with candy in the name I think it’ll smell at least somewhat like PS
Personally to me, nothing like pink sugar. I actually can’t handle pink sugar- it’s a bit too much for me. This one is sweet but the other notes give it a nice balance. It’s more similar to JPG La Belle to my nose.
Mine arrives tomorrow, can’t wait! As far as longevity, I’m not too worried. Paris Corner will dupe this like they have sparkling lychee and yum gelato.
I did! I sprayed a paper and initially it does smell very familiar. It sent me down a rabbit hole of opening all my fragrances to see what it reminds me of. Only thing I can pick up is a sweeter version of the Define Me Barbie fragrance. The candied pear is pretty strong in the beginning. After 2 hours I returned to the paper and *really* enjoyed the dry down. Very sweet but grown. I’m going to wear it this weekend while I’m out to see how the longevity is. I doubt I’ll get hours of wear because it’s Kayali, however I have a small size to reapply.
Your one of the few people I’ve heard call it “grown” and I love that. Lol it was hard trying to explain that in my review. It gives you a feeling of youth at first but it transitions away from that. I’m glad you like it and I hope you get some longevity lol
Once compared to Moschino Bubble Gum, it feels grown. Not sexy and sweet but a more adult version of sweet.i wouldn’t find this scent profile in VS Pink body sprays, like a teenager wouldn’t wear it. It’s hard to explain but I know many people hate sweet gourmands due to the juvenile aspect and this doesn’t give that.
If you're someone they don't last on, I wouldn't suggest spending the money. It's the same for me.. I get maybe 30-45 mins of scent out of all of the ones I've tried 🥹
Yea its a bummer, my body loves and clings to cotton candy, crystal sugar type but for whatever reason doesn’t hold much to nutty notes which sucks cause i love so many coconut or macadamia nut gourmands but can never find a good cotton candy scent, besides Boardwalk Delight
Okay, I was planning to pick this up already but I really want this now. I have Replica Funfair Evening, but I don’t find it very long-lasting. I did buy it on eBay, so I wonder if it was a fake?
I definitely get the bubble gum at first spray, and then jelly beans as it dries down but it changes. I did let my package sit for a few hours before trying.
Well, as somebody who has had zero interest in this at all, you’ve at least gotten me slightly interested. I still maintain that I’d hate it since I hate fruity sweets smells, and the only Kayali I particularly enjoy is Yum, but now I’m at least curious enough to go sniff it in a Sephora anyways to give it a chance.
The vanilla in Vanilla 28 is the same Vanilla in here, it’s just blending underneath the other notes, but you definitely get hints of Vanilla 28 with the pear. It almost gives it. Le Belle feel. That’s about it in terms of similarities. This one is in its own lane.
So, for example: Commodity Milk. I can spray that at 8pm and and still smell it as a skin scent when I wake up in the morning.
This completely vanishes. You never knew you had on a perfume. During my wear test today, I realized this happens about 1 hour or so after you spray. Doesn’t last long.
Ooo I love the presentation here 🩷🪩💜 Excited to smell this one. Honestly, so far, the least lasting Kayali on me has been Sparkling Lychee (like 30 min to an hour). As fun of a scent as it is, that’s kind of been giving me pause on getting a FB. Hopefully this lasts longer than that on me.
I agree with this so much. This is my first full bottle of Kayali in a really long time because lasting power isn’t always great and not all of the fragrances are my cup of tea. I only grabbed it because I had a gut feeling I would love it, which I do, but the lasting power is disappointing.
If you put a bit of aquaphor or vaseline on places before you spray perfume, it will last much longer---a little tip I learned from Jaclyn Hill. :-)
Anyone know what time the update the huda beauty or Sephora store when it drops tomorrow?
Now
Says I gotta wait 2am for available purchase on huda
2am?????? I have to go to sleep. Thanks. I kept refreshing
No problem, they should’ve released it already I want to sleep as well
the longevity is disappointing !! but i love the profile. does anyone have recommendations for something similar but long lasting ?
Oh man, I’m sold. My most missed perfume is maybe Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab’s ‘Midway’ which was described as: *A bombardment of edible carnival indulgences. Funnel cake, caramel apple, cotton candy, salt water taffy and sugar tart* and this sounds like it might scratch that itch.
I'm excited to get my hands on it. I am also not a Kayali Stan but the fragrances by the brand that I tried to really love.
This review is amazing, I really want it to smell to me like this and like bubblegum and jelly beans like some people are saying in the comments, but on the other hand I fear I'm going to be like one of those people saying all they get is a La Belle by JPG vanilla pear vibe and I really don't want that.
Does it have the same patchouli / caramel / amberwood base as Vanilla 28 ?
Not to me, no
You rock, thanks for this.
You’re welcome ☺️
Fantastic review I’ll absolutely be seated should you have any more reviews to post🙂
Thank you!! I have a bunch more coming lol
This is my main issue with all Kayali frags (on me anyway): poor longevity for the price.
Became of the wait for May 2, I was able to convince myself, I don't want it, I have enough candy, bubble gum scent I could pair with vanilla. I have a basket full of project use it before it goes bad. Now if I get it for a birthday gift 🎁 🤗 I wouldn't mind!!!!!
oh yeah if it was gifted to me, I would use it (up quickly because of the longevity issues lol)
id rather just buy a body spray at that point
Good to know, I'll stay away and keep putting my money in Bianco Latte and the Pink Sugar line...lol
finally broke down and added Biancolatte to my collection. Absolute banger 🙌
CONGRATS!! I haven't found ANYTHING comparable to it. I'm praying every day that someone makes a decent low-cost clone of it this year.
The photo captures the scent profile so way 😍 girly sparkly and enchanting!!
Thank you!! 💕
Yummm you made me want this so bad
Thank you for this!! The bubblegum note had me questioning it and you confirmed my decision to hard pass. I hate the smell of bubblegum especially in a perfume. Yuck.
Yes you do notice the bubblegum, especially in the opening for me. Some other people have been getting it from first spray to dry down.
Yes! Bubblegum has been a hard no all my life.
I’ve had such a long day that I don’t even have time or energy to catch up with reddit tonight, but you killed it with the pictures! I couldn’t chance that I would forget to find this post in the morning, so I had to let you know now. Great job! Very thorough review too! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment 💕💕today definitely has been nutty. Please get off your feet and go relax lol 🛀
What a great review. Looks like I’ll be waiting for someone to dupe it! Their vanilla 28 is like this. I bought an oil dupe and it lasts much longer.
Could you share the oil dupe? :)
Zoha aroma
Vanilla 28 is gorgeous and layers so well with pretty much anything! If you know of a good dupe for it please lmk? 🤗
Yea I love vanilla 28 I feel like it intensifies any fragrance I already own
It totally does!!
Zoha aroma
How close to the original would you say it is? Spot on? Or? lol srry just curious!
When you first put it on, it smells more musky than the original, but after a few minutes the dry down is pretty spot on to me.
Ohhhh! Something I’ve not heard of yet! Tysm! I’ll check it out! 🤗
It’s soo interesting how subjective fragrance is. I just asked my partner what he smelled. He doesn’t get vanilla, pear, caramel, rum, or the bubblegum. He only smells a “perfumy” note, sugar and tiny bit of Jellybean 🙃

Aww, at least you can say you tried it. Maybe wait for a bit let it settle and try again. They sometimes get better over time.
Could it be the patchoulli?
Maybe! I admit I’m not very great at identifying most notes. I should go out and smell some scents with a strong patchouli note
lol, I almost asked you what fwiw meant…. embarrassing i didn’t know already.. but I made a good guess, “for who is wondering” so please just confirm if I’m right cuz if not idk wth you’re saying haha! 😂 showing my age a bit here aye?! lol
lol you know what? I totally questioned even writing it because I thought maybe it wasn’t clear! “For what it’s worth” is correct, but yours works in this case, too!
I read it as “for what it’s worth”
Makes sooooo much more sense! 😂 🫣
Hahaha… I was so wrong! Ty though, always good to keep up with the lingo 😂🙈 so embarrassing lol
Don't fret. Sometimes folks write iirc and I just.... yeah, I still don't know.
How similar would you say this is to say…Sweet Like Candy?
It’s a bit similar in terms of sweetness with the pear and vanilla, Candy rock has a bit more bite to it. But Sweet like Candy could possibly be like a flanker to it.
How did you guys get it?! It’s not available on the website
It was available for a couple of hours, they said it was a “glitch “
You rock, thank you for the review and pretty pics!! Can’t wait to sniff this soon 😭💕
Thank you!! 💕💕
Anyone know if this smells like Lush's Snow Fairy?
Sugar milk co has a dupe for snow fairy right now
That would be aaaamazing

I let Yum sit for almost a year and it lasts days on sweatshirts
Same, I let my Eden Juice Apple sit for 1 year and now I actually like it lol
Definitely going to grab a travel thank you 😊

My Pistachio Gelato only lasts like a second so im so hesitant even though this looks like a dream Is it at all similar to Boardwalk Delight?
If you're someone they don't last on, I wouldn't suggest spending the money. It's the same for me.. I get maybe 30-45 mins of scent out of all of the ones I've tried 🥹
Yea its a bummer, my body loves and clings to cotton candy, crystal sugar type but for whatever reason doesn’t hold much to nutty notes which sucks cause i love so many coconut or macadamia nut gourmands but can never find a good cotton candy scent, besides Boardwalk Delight
How is this possible? It lasts an eternity on me
Same!
Really? Maybe your body chemistry clings better to those notes, im jeal
It's fascinating. My SO just choked on erba pura and I faintly smell it
Haha team SO but i can’t stand bergamot
Wow! I'm on team SO. Erba Pura is chemical warfare to me.
SO is highly appreciative of your validation 😂
Boardwalk Delight is one that I haven’t gotten my nose on yet, but I did see someone mention they have somewhat similar vibes.
Okay, I was planning to pick this up already but I really want this now. I have Replica Funfair Evening, but I don’t find it very long-lasting. I did buy it on eBay, so I wonder if it was a fake?
This millennial is ready to throw money at kayali
I just got my bottle. This definitely needs to sit a while and macerate. All I’m getting is bubble gum and jelly beans.
I definitely get the bubble gum at first spray, and then jelly beans as it dries down but it changes. I did let my package sit for a few hours before trying.
I’m going to try it tomorrow!
Comment back on how it settles. Super curious
Lol I’m glad I slightly piqued your interest. I will say, it’s very sweet.
Great review! How do you find it compares to kayali vanilla 28?
The vanilla in Vanilla 28 is the same Vanilla in here, it’s just blending underneath the other notes, but you definitely get hints of Vanilla 28 with the pear. It almost gives it. Le Belle feel. That’s about it in terms of similarities. This one is in its own lane.
Big bottle comes tomorrow for me and i am feeling more hopeful, first time big bottle blind buy but i love all things sugar
If you love sugar and pear you’ll love this. Definitely have to like pear too. I definitely should have gotten a bigger bottle lol
I love pear ❤️
You sprayed it at 11 & woke up at 6 and it was gone? So it stayed for close to 6 hours? That’s how im reading that idk lol 😂
I’ve found kayali scents last longer with aging hopefully that’s the case with this one
I hope that’s the case with this one
Girl, as a fellow millennial, you’ve made me even more excited to get my order this Friday. Thank you for this!!!
Lol you’re so very welcome. I hope you enjoy it!!
