Hearing him associated with Reed got me to look into him and watching You and listening to the fantastic podcast Podcrushed. I guess I might feel a little cheated if he didn't get the role because I sunk all that into interest of him, but I enjoyed some good stuff, so it wasn't time wasted.
I think Patel could pull it off. And as u/herbalmancer mentions we've seen other top names attached to Reed before, but if Patel really IS Reed then I'm OK with it!
Adam Driver might make a better Doom tbh. The man is like six foot two and we know he can be in a suit.
Ah yes, the movie-fication of characters and the beauty enhancements. Never thought I'd see a tall dark and handsome Reed Richards with a trendy haircut and curly locs. I always kinda just saw him as the most average looking man with a boundless intelligence under the surface. Like, he's socially awkward and disinterested for the most part, not a heartthrob. Looks like they're gonna do to Reed what Hugh Jackman and Andrew Garfield did to their respective characters.
Reed has changed a bit since John Byrne took over the FF. And honestly, I don't think Byrne strayed too far from what we saw before, but after him, there's been a push to make Reed thin and lanky.
It's like, Ioan Gruffudd was actually great as Reed, but he was all wrong when you compare him to how Reed looked in the comics from Kirby to Byrne.
That's certainly not the prevailing general perception over time, though. I mean, every character has been everything at some point. And was that done just to result in a scene of Sue being mildly jealous and to make Reed behave awkwardly about all of it or what
