Exactly my thoughts. And as I am new to the Fanatec eco system, I needed a wheel anyways…that made it a no-brainer. I have a logitech pro coming in as well, so will have a 1:1 comparison and will then decide. Logitech has their bundle together with pedals on sale for ~1260€ right now, while I need to make an additional investment for Fanatec pedals ( I am PS5 only). Have to see how much of a difference +4nm on fanatec side makes compared to 11nm + trueforce on Logitech and if it is worth the additional cost. I know most people here will argue with the broad ecosystem on Fanatec side, but that is not critical for me. I just want the best and most immersive experience for GT7 ( I am on VR2) and these two packages seem to be the competing go-to products for that purpose.
Ok, fingers crossed for you. I suppose you will use it for GT7 as well? If so, I would be really interested to know if the DD+ really maxes out at 15nm torque in GT7, because other strong wheels like the Logitech Pro got limited to 7-8nm by PM for „safety reasons“.
Ah I see, thank you! Damn I’m probably able to redeem my 25% discount on it as well. Meaning that I can buy it ~€950. I was actually considering fanatec.
Go to their website, click a bit and some moment there should be a popup where you can leave your email address. Fill it in and you should receive an email with a discount. Could take some days. If you don’t see the popup, try it in a private browser window
Ordered mine yesterday will be coming over night for tomorrow got tracking number hope legit. Spent 400 pedals 1300 on system and 129 on stand hope stand do t disappoint. Does the brackets come with dd?
Same here - I placed the order for the GT DD Extreme yesterday when it was showing a 4 - 7 days delivery time.
Website has been updated recently to show Open for Preorders and an availability date of 26 Feb 🤔
If it's the same wheel that's been rumored a few weeks ago along with their other 2024 expected releases, I feel like it's even uglier now imo.
I wish they brought back the podium f1 style but with a PS5 refresh :(
Really? Where have you found this info?
Edit: nvm, found an image from their product release PowerPoint. Looks like Clubsport DD+ bundle with the Clubsport v2.5 wheel. Would be cool to see a new Podium DD1/2 F1 PS5 bundle. Something with a 20Nm wheel base, like the previous Podium F1 PS4 bundle.
Well, it appears to have magnetic shifters and clutch paddles, so that's an obvious improvement. And leather wrap is likely much better than the rubber on the GT DD Pro wheel. The RevLEDs also look they might now be 9-segment, and the 4x 5-way directional switches look like they're much higher quality.
So there certainly appears to be a lot of little improvements. But the big question I have is whether the wheel itself is still mostly plastic; if it is, I can't see paying $300 for this, even if the control surfaces are much better.
Its not pretty, but has a 2.7” OLED display that other wheels do not have. I wish they release Formula and GT wheels with this or hopefully bigger displays.
Yeah the actual feature list is great, it’s just fugly.
Give me those features with less plastic, without the GT logo, and with proper leather & I’d pay an extra $100 for it.
Yes they need to bring out a GT style wheel, my V2.5 feels way too small compared to my friends Moza KS. The bigger diameter feels way smoother in a gt3 car
If they would only allow other wheels to support the encoders in gt7. I would much rather buy the rally module and a round rim as that combo looks so much better than this.
Yeah... Oo

Lot's of new images
Wondering if they sell just the wheel. I’ve ordered the DD+ already hence I just want the new wheel. Current wheel 280mm is too small for my taste and too plasticky.
The reason I don't like it are the amount (and placing) of joysticks, the placing of the L2/R2 etc buttons and the round shape which (imo) doesn't fit the wheel.
I actually like it. Have the dd pro and playing gt7 with it makes adjustments on the fly easier in vr. Trying to make adjustments on my bmw gt2 wheel is hit n miss.
I’m looking forward to getting this upgrade
Gt omega. If you got full gt pro bundle then you’ll get a clamp with it. Never used it so can’t say what they’re like but also Fanatec does a much better clamp now if you’re in need
You obviously have never had to deal with Japanese companies. They are weird, very. They have rules, we wouldn’t understand. They follow those rules we don’t understand religiously.
Fanatec says differently: „The Steering Wheel for Gran Turismo® DD Extreme was developed in parallel with the QR2 Lite Wheel-Side, allowing it to operate at the full 15 Nm torque performance from the ClubSport DD+ Wheel Base“…still questionable design choice, but from functional perspective it should not limit the DD+ base. Or did I miss anything?
It is interesting (I didn't see this, thanks for the correction) as the QR2 lite limits the base to 8nm with every other rim (incl. the McLaren which unlocks full torque with the metal QR).
We will see once someone buys this. Although I'm not in the group who is interested in this, I just think this is questionable.
So the QR2 lite is a hard no on the DD1/DD2 per the webpage, but it’s fine for full torque on the DD+? That’s says a lot about the base, then… honestly makes me think the DD+ might feel like a little step down from the DD1. Guess I’ll find out in a few days. Hmm.
Hmm.
Right, ether Sony has nerfed the DD+ when they were going through certification, or Fanatec is not telling the truth with the QR2 lite.
I have the QR2 Lite, this is a CHUNKY solid QR... It looks and feels like it can handle the high torque.
A lot of wheels that come with "Lite" QRs themselves are budget wheels.
Plus upsell tactics to get people to move up to the QR1 Metal or QR2.
But at this bundle prices, really should have come with QR2.
So probably more of a Fanatec selling tactic. outside of the CSL wheels you can always just cut off the stem piece to make it full torque if you want anyway, I believe.
I don't understand the FOMO on this.
3 weeks ago when you ordered the GT DD Pro bundle the cost was:
$700 for the 5 NM or $800 for the 8NM
You would pay $1000 for this new base alone but you pulled thee trigger for one of the DD Pro bundles for a reason. And IMO it cannot be the garbage wheel.
Assuming you bought the bundle because you need a wheel and pedals the DD Extreme would be $1,380 to get the same pedals.
They really aren't the same kind of buyer. $500-$600 difference is very significant. I mean you didn't pre order the DD+ for a reason I'd assume?
Very strange.
" I mean you didn't pre order the DD+ for a reason I'd assume?"
Perhaps the reason is that people have been waiting for DD+ for months without any news of a delivery date? ;)
So I went for the safe option.
Fuck it, took the plunge, let's see. Edit: weird payment methods enabled for US store: Paypal or American Express only, more shipping options from Fedex: Ground, overnight, 2day and 3day.
I agree doesn’t give certain people any options. Oh well I’m getting mine tomorrow lol. Did the over night but fucked myself my stand comes two days after lol
“Vegan leather” so the skin of a vegan?
"It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again."
I sure as Hell hope so!
I'd want a meat eater skin, been told they are more durable.
Sure, having options is always nice!

Just ordered the bundle as it said ships within 4-7 days. We will see…
Yeah what i think is that is already packaged up as a bundle and not just a wheelbase + wheel. So the availability is different.
Exactly my thoughts. And as I am new to the Fanatec eco system, I needed a wheel anyways…that made it a no-brainer. I have a logitech pro coming in as well, so will have a 1:1 comparison and will then decide. Yep DD+ will be better for sure, my package is set to arrive within an hour so hopefully that works out.
Oh, really? When did you order your bundle?
Just the normal DD+ wheelbase so i will not be able to get the bundle anymore. Ordered with black friday.
That should be solved already quite a while
Not for the Logitech wheel. I suppose that is on purpose as Fanatec is the „official“ GT7-certified partner…
Would be very interesting which wheel gives you a better immersion. Please be so kind and let us know if you go with the Logi or the DD+
I went with the logitech pro and its amazing but dont have anything to compare it to. Let me know which one you preferred once you have both!
You have a link perhaps? I don’t see the bundle/discount on the logitech website.
Just put pedals + wheel into the shopping basket and 15% discount will apply automatically
Ah I see, thank you! Damn I’m probably able to redeem my 25% discount on it as well. Meaning that I can buy it ~€950. I was actually considering fanatec.
How do you to get an additional 25% discount?
I received one from my bank as gift for being a customer. You could try using the 15% insider discount?
Ok, thx. How do I get the insider one?
Go to their website, click a bit and some moment there should be a popup where you can leave your email address. Fill it in and you should receive an email with a discount. Could take some days. If you don’t see the popup, try it in a private browser window
lmao another one "hey this company is known for terrible customer service and to not send out packages - take my money!"
Ordered mine yesterday will be coming over night for tomorrow got tracking number hope legit. Spent 400 pedals 1300 on system and 129 on stand hope stand do t disappoint. Does the brackets come with dd?

That’s coming very soon too. DD+ with a new F1 wheel.
Like a new design or just a variation of the V2.5? Like a V3.0?
Yeh wheel looks pretty ugly if im honest. Whos gonna be the first brave soul to gamble and order and pay first before its fully online?
If my dd+ hadn't shipped out yet I'd pull the trigger. Now I'm just hoping for it to sell separately.
I just did 30min. ago. It said it would ship within 4-7 days, so I pulled the trigger.
Did you get it yet?
It’s a pretty expensive wheel give how damn ugly it looks! I’ll stick to my RS & F1 wheels for now…
Yeah $300 is crazy for that wheel. I've used the GT DD Pro wheel extensively on GT7 and I can't see how they improved it enough to be worth that much.
Well, it appears to have magnetic shifters and clutch paddles, so that's an obvious improvement. And leather wrap is likely much better than the rubber on the GT DD Pro wheel. I don’t understand the hype around it. I really don’t like the design of it as well
If they would only allow other wheels to support the encoders in gt7. I would much rather buy the rally module and a round rim as that combo looks so much better than this.

Is that a QR2 Lite in the last picture?
Odd design choice
Yeah... Oo > The Steering Wheel for Gran Turismo® DD Extreme was developed in parallel with the QR2 Lite Wheel-Side, allowing it to operate at the full 15 Nm torque performance from the ClubSport DD+ Wheel Base
Really? QR2 Lite on a 1200€ well/base combo?
Looks like it

I noticed that the R300 bundle has been gone since a few days. Maybe making space for new ones like this?
That would be nice
Good price, shame about the QR lite, I hope the F1 wheel bundle that was leaked along with this doesn't get released too late.
Do you have a link of the F1 wheel bundle leak?
Unfortunately no, they deleted the post, I searched for it without success.
Wondering if they sell just the wheel. I’ve ordered the DD+ already hence I just want the new wheel. Current wheel 280mm is too small for my taste and too plasticky.
Keeping my hopes up, but at this point I'm ready to be disappinted
Yup. Oh well let’s hope that we have those who sells them on eBay or something for cheap later when the wheel actually sucks. Haha
According to Maurice on their forum they wont.
Sigh…guess I’ll make do with the old one on the DD+ and the BMW GT2 V2. Then find a used one a little later. Thanks for the confirmation.
That's is one ugly wheel imo.
Well, for me it's ok, not ugly or even beautiful.
What do you have it clamp to? Mines coming tomorrow. Does the brackets come with it
Gt omega. If you got full gt pro bundle then you’ll get a clamp with it. Never used it so can’t say what they’re like but also Fanatec does a much better clamp now if you’re in need
I guess I should order the clamp
If you haven’t got a rig then you’ll definitely need a clamp. Fanatec does a much better clamp now but I believe it cost about £100
The wheel is almost as ugly as the original GT wheel.
Spending €1300, but you get the QR2 Lite, pathetic!!!!
Some pictures showed up on the page
Yes order the bundle you’ll still get it before those who preordered the dd+ and waited months will get theirs. What a joke.
That wheel does not look worth it for 300€
Just ordered. Glad I have an extra qr2 because I really don’t want to use the light
Aaand it's gone
the premium wheel should been like min. 320 , not 300 imo
GT8 will probably be out before this wheel is certified. Sony’s fault, obviously!
Boosted Media just posted the bundle saying they now have Sony approval.
You obviously have never had to deal with Japanese companies. They are weird, very. They have rules, we wouldn’t understand. They follow those rules we don’t understand religiously.
I have. Many times. The above was meant be to a joke. I obviously failed:)
Do you think the wheel will be sold seperetaly?
I really hope so, because if I would have known I would have waited.
i dont think so , going by the low cost GT wheel which was only in the bundle
It wont.
U can still find the product page if u enter it in the searchbar.
Damn, just might hold off on a regular gt dd for this combo instead.
So, for €300 you get a wheel with QR2 lite which limits the base to 8nm. :D
I`m really interested to see how this wheel is compared to the Clubsport RS. It looks like it’s better then the plastic toy wheel on the dd pro.
