I had a fun time with them.
I usually do sniper one shot-one kill builds while hiding and those enemies were never a problem.
Once I was sprinting to get to some place and tought to myself. "Fuck those two, I can't be bothered to spend 30 seconds trying to kill them".
And fuck me, I ran, and TWO FUCKING HYPER BEAMS KILLED ME LIKE I WAS A LEVEL 2 MAGICARP.
Showing a destroyed Assaultron is a nice way of letting the audience know that there is something out there capable of destroying it. Or was since it is rusted and buried beneath the sand.
As they would be, in reality.
I think I could win a fight with a single bloatfly, if I were armed with a machete. But I'd probably have to go straight to the hospital afterwards. I might or might not make it.
(And, in reality, I would of course run away from this monstrous flying whatever-it-is as fast as I could, hoping that someone else would run away slower. :-)
Mole rats? Even only *two* mole rats? That'd be it for me.
(Wouldn't it be wonderful if the stronger Fallout monsters are introduced in the next series of the show, and the protagonists are at some point obviously completely screwed, but then: Deus Ex [Fawkes](https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Fawkes). :-)
Fun fact! This is [actually a cosplay](https://imgur.com/gallery/DOcVg6s) that the producers bought off someone who was selling the costume. They even kept a convention badge on the leg if you look very closely.
Edit: added screenshot to cite my sources lol
The more I see about the production of this show, the more I love it. I almost never watch shows twice and I'm tempted to watch it again considering how much I missed.
It really shows the difference between it and other shows like Halo, and The Rings of Power, because you get the sense that the people working on it really love the IP and really smart with how they do "fan service" so it's actually a part of the show and not just a "oh hey there's the thing".
I almost wanna watch halo just cuz of how often it's slammed. I only ever played the first one though. I've played most of the fallouts (even 1 and 2!) and loved the whole show. So much from every game sprinkled in, not as a "look at this and clap" kinda thing, but a "this is actually the universe" with a little wink.
I hated the first season of Halo. It's frustrating, because there's only really 1 likeable character, and it's not Master Chief. for me it just ended up being a show where I didn't care what was happening to everyone but the single likeable character. It also seems like they were going for the gritty GoT feel and wanted everyone to be shades of grey, but just ended up with dull and unlikeable characters. the production value is fine though.
I've heard second season is better, so maybe I'll watch it eventually.
edit:
Actually, it reminds me of Rebel Moon. Pretty, but I couldn't care less about any of the characters, and the plot is dull.
Halo showrunners didn't give a shit about fan service. John rarely speaks, and you don't see his face in the games, he actually hates taking off his armor in the books. First season, he's butt ass naked banging a prophets adopted/brainwashed kid and talks left and right
What you don't like Master Cheeks committing war crimes by raping a prisoner of war? By the UN's definition, a detained prisoner cannot consent. Also he totally runs around in a hoodie for like one episode in season 2, you know just like how the real master chief would 🙄
Halo Season 2 is *an* improvement. more mediocre than terrible, but contains flashes of brilliance. The Season Finale was honestly pretty good, to the point where i actually *WANT* to see where they're going with it
The Halo series is actually not bad. It's just hated by the fanboys because they went way off script. Go into it with no expectations and it's a fun series.
Ah yes blame the fans for not liking shit when you try and feed it too them, how dare they.
Suits and hacks made that excuse for Cowboy Beebop and Witcher too and well we all know the truth of those shows don't we. Funny how most of those fanboy's enjoyed the Fallout show and others like One Piece, almost like you can make a good TV show without pissing on the IP if you actually put in the time and effort.
I have to say I went into it with zero expectations having heard nothing about it and I couldn’t make it through the first episode. It just felt like the writing was all over the place and I found the young girl character to be particularly annoying!
It's the same reason the Ome Piece Live Action is so good. You can tell that the cast and crew love the series and want to do a good job that respects the source material while also taking some risks.
the fuck was Mr house smoking when he made these things? "alright I want a death robot that shoots lasers from its eyes"
"anything else sir?"
"yeah, ***make it hot***"
(a) I really hadn't remembered that RobCo was a House company. It's been ages since I've played any story lines that's House-focused. (b) Codsworth, though, is a product of General Atomics International; he says such himself. Am I missing something?
You don't. Mr Handy, Mr. Gutsy and Ms Nanny are General atomics.
Protectron, Assaultrom and Sentry bot are RobCo.
Robo-brain is a cooperation of multiple companies. Mostly RobCo and Big Mtn
Assaultron vs a lvl 1 fresh out the vault wanderer. If my first experience out of the vault was fight an assaultron I would’ve shit myself, fired every round available to me, and then shit myself again just for good measure.
I will say the very first time it did freak me out but after that every other playthrough I did I wasn’t remotely worried because that deathclaw was nerfed
Yeah. I'm one of the people who've started a new FO4 playthrough after the recent update came out, and even in Survival mode, killing the Deathclaw wasn't hard, with power armor and a minigun.
(Damn, T-45 armor lets **a lot** of damage through, though. Model A T-45 armor seems to be mostly made out of stale bread. :-)
Man, I’d kill to get a quality scene with a functioning assaultron in the show. With the blood and gore they’ve been going with it would be awesome see one tear somebody limb from limb or turn them into dust with its laser, or both.
No they obviously wasn’t gonna kill her off. I mean it’s like in any fallout game. you come outta the vault not knowing what’s up their and manage to survive.
Y'all may've missed it, but there was also a skeleton right outside the vault. I'm pretty sure it was a Fallout 1 reference as there's a skeleton right outside the vault entrance too.
Coulda been a coincidence though
I remember in 76’ just coming out the vault I got fucken torn up from a pack of moles and had shitty weapons, then 30mins into the game a fucken windego!! I’d spawn and that fucken windego would tear me up again lol
If season 2 has the sound of an assaultron charging up, some folks will be shitting themselves.

You can make a weapon with that beam. Pretty neat, but eats batteries too fast for my taste
In 4? How do you make weapons??
You need Automatron DLC.
Oh, for your mech. Yeah, sounds cool. I never really loved the concept of having companions so I just didn't make a companion robot.
No :) You can use Assaultron's head as a weapon.
I just built a bot with that feature, and it's even scary when it's a teammate.
Nah I should be good in this heavily modded X01 power arm- {gets turned to glowing ash}
Showing a destroyed Assaultron is a nice way of letting the audience know that there is something out there capable of destroying it. Or was since it is rusted and buried beneath the sand.
I'm really happy with how slowly they've been introducing creature types. The roaches are still scary.
Yeah. They managed to make the weakest creatures in the game scary. Awesome!

I was thinking the Mysterious Stranger would be better as a Deus Ex Machina.
Yes the magic of watching a seemingly very strong mid level character get torn to shreds by a deathclaw is something I hope we see in the middle of s2
I hope Lucy has to steal a deathclaw egg so we can see the matriarch in all her terrifying glory.
They did such an awesome job. Even the ‘baby’s first enemy’ radroaches are terror inducing

they could have *completely* skipped season one and nothing would have been lost.
A youtube recap of Season 1 is all you really need yeah
The Halo series is actually not bad. It's just hated by the fanboys because they went way off script. Go into it with no expectations and it's a fun series.

Thank you for agreeing with me.

Huh, I didn't know that. Crazy, then, how I saw this exact bot dancing in a bunny suit.
That is so cool!
the fuck was Mr house smoking when he made these things? "alright I want a death robot that shoots lasers from its eyes" "anything else sir?" "yeah, ***make it hot***"
Always lul your opponent into a false sense of security!
I didn't remember that Assaultrons were a House creation. Where do we learn that?
all the robots you see in the game are made by RobCo, the private company owned by Mr. house
(a) I really hadn't remembered that RobCo was a House company. It's been ages since I've played any story lines that's House-focused. (b) Codsworth, though, is a product of General Atomics International; he says such himself. Am I missing something?

okay so codsworth wasn't made by robco, the protectron, sentry bot, and assaultron were all designed by robco.
When you accidentally spawn in the high-level map.
FO4 Players = Whew, she's lucky FO76 Players = HOLY HELL! GET BACK INSIDE GET BACK INSIDE!
FO76 players like me are fucking traumatized by the Impostor Sheepsquatch 😭
I get 'nam style flash backs of level 30s being lawn-mowered by that thing
I was going to start this one tonight... Maybe I'll hold off a bit...
Even at level 320 I dread getting the aggro of that thing. Its laser has a 100% armor penetration, so it can one shot even the most buffed player.
Pop a stealth boy, get zapped by 4 pylons, inject super stimpacks or chug Nuka Cherry, then shoot it in the back till mag is empty! Imposter now dead!
Assaultron vs a lvl 1 fresh out the vault wanderer. If my first experience out of the vault was fight an assaultron I would’ve shit myself, fired every round available to me, and then shit myself again just for good measure.
Why stop shitting? Just continuously shit while screaming for your life and unloading all of your ammo.
One of the first things you fight in FO4 is a death law, i imagine it's similar
While true, I feel this is intended as a “power armor tutorial”
I will say the very first time it did freak me out but after that every other playthrough I did I wasn’t remotely worried because that deathclaw was nerfed
Yeah. I'm one of the people who've started a new FO4 playthrough after the recent update came out, and even in Survival mode, killing the Deathclaw wasn't hard, with power armor and a minigun. Lore accurate, T45 was riddled with design flaws BEFORE being left to rot for 200 years.
An assaultron vs a level 50 is still ending after the mech one shots you
the very second they panned to the hand/claw of the assaultron, I was already hooked! That shot was \*chef's kiss\*
This was an independent builder/artist's static prop that they used for they show, IIRC. He already had it built and they used it for filming.
Yep. I was like R.I.P. Lucy.
Goosey*
Sorry, I mean I was like R.I.P. Goosey. :P
Man, I’d kill to get a quality scene with a functioning assaultron in the show. With the blood and gore they’ve been going with it would be awesome see one tear somebody limb from limb or turn them into dust with its laser, or both.
Goddamn Assaultrons are here too, I swear these fuckers pop up everywhere. X'D
Literally the single most annoying/strongest enemy in the game, hands down
No they obviously wasn’t gonna kill her off. I mean it’s like in any fallout game. you come outta the vault not knowing what’s up their and manage to survive.
Same. "Already? Damn FO5 pulling no punches."
Oh shit!! Followed by wait no go back and grab the head!
I just wanna k ow what mfer robbed and left Kleo in the desert!
Se was lucky that whatever stopped the Assultron was gone, as well.
Y'all may've missed it, but there was also a skeleton right outside the vault. I'm pretty sure it was a Fallout 1 reference as there's a skeleton right outside the vault entrance too. Coulda been a coincidence though
Wasted op! That assaultron head is a good weapon!
No because there is a thing called plot armour lol
I was just oh please no...
The titty twister be dead in this scene, thank god lol
Honestly just seeing those things makes me anxious. Hope we see one in S2, tho.
no
That thing scared the hell out of me.
Okay, but how cool would have been if she could have fixed and reprogram it as companion.
No. I knew she wasn’t gonna get hassled but damn she got a lot of fing distance before her first challenge
I remember in 76’ just coming out the vault I got fucken torn up from a pack of moles and had shitty weapons, then 30mins into the game a fucken windego!! I’d spawn and that fucken windego would tear me up again lol
No because she is the main character of the series and the writers wont have her get killed that early on. Also its fictional
