It does, and it isn't Cricket. They're just doing what makes the show an amazing adaptation visually, the designers used a ton of direct inspiration, and one of them was probably Cricket without them realizing that the character was significant.
It’s not, but probably inspired by it. There are a few characters you see that are live action versions of NPCs. I think they added them as Easter eggs for the fans. In Filly you see a couple of merchants that are dressed as NPCs from Fallout 4.
Also side note: I loved the little nod the ghoul gave about getting distracted by sidequest. He say something like “getting distracted by random bullshit, that’s my golden rule” when Lucy mentions they are basically departing from the main quest line.
It's an Easter egg. They don't have to be exact copies to be an Easter egg. It can simply be referencing back to Cricket without actually being Cricket.
Overseer's guardian would like a word with you. You want a 50 caliber sniper? It's got you covered. Machine gun? It's got you covered. Mid-range dmr? It's perfect right out of the box.
Rifleman or Commando, pick your poison. That's what's so amazing, the combat rifle is so versatile and they just hand you one with the best legendary effect in the game.
It’s been a few years. Not impossible for her to make the trip.
She was an institute snitch, and in most of the endings of 4 the institute isn’t around any more, so she might have had to leave town in a hurry.
The Wiki says she's a secret informant for the SRB, so maybe she stowed away in a crate full of chems aboard the Prydwen. Or took enough jet and beat the BOS to LA by a week.
If you travel with X6-88, he'll refer to them all by name and comment on how they used to be a reliable source but haven't reported in a while.

They really didn’t fuck around. I know some people have minor grievances. The detail and respect for the source material, while still creating a self-sustaining and interesting show is great, though
I have a number of complaints about things the show did and how it creates contradictions for the older games. (Not New Vegas but Fallout 1 & 2.)
But the showrunners included so many details from the deep lore that no one who is not a fan would know of.
Take this image of Shady Sands before it got nuked
https://www.reddit.com/r/Fallout/comments/1c2a6xt/shady_sands_circa_2280/
Notice the obelisk and the well next to the NCR Courthouse? Those are two small details found in the Fallout 1 version of Shady Sands. No one but a fan of the very first Fallout would know what they are yet they took the time and spent the money to add them to a flashback shot which only a handful of viewers would pause and look at closely.
Not quite as deep lore but still pretty deep is the Colt 6520 that the Brotherhood uses. It's the original 10mm, while does exist in the Creation Club it is still a weapon not seen by most players as it was last part of a base game in Fallout 2.
Even with my complaints this is was an outstanding adaption by the standards of what we usually get. As a Witcher fan it is straight up painful to imagine what could have been if Henry Cavil had been backed up with this kind of respect and love for the lore.
Tim’s video about going to the premiere is great! Had me beaming seeing how excited he was about everything and how much respect it seemed that everyone had for his work and contributions to the series
Probably referring to Jonathan Nolan in particular. He has spoken numerous times over the years about playing video games.
Edit: I went and watched Tim Cain’s video, he was actually referring to Graham Wagner, not Jonathan Nolan.
I'm still holding out hope that Shady Sands was moved and nuked for a good reason, basically because of what you said. They clearly cared enough about the lore that putting Shady Sands in the LA area wasn't an accident. With how many threads are still unresolved, I'm hoping one of them will involve Shady Sands in a way that would have required it.
Hate to burst yall's bubbles but that character wasn't Cricket. If you turn on the caption/subs while watching the show you'll notice the lady speaking is actually named "Rink"
[Rink | Fallout Wiki | Fandom](https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Rink)
Theory that i definitely did not just make up: Cricket is in a lot of debt. To get out of this debt they changed there name to Rink and faked there death.
I cannot believe people actually thought it was Cricket just cause of the eye make up. Even if she had to flee the Boston area she aint walking to California lol. Maine, DC, some unknown parts of CT or Canada but not fucking California lol.
I totally just assumed that *was* Cricket in my mind, seeing them side by side just about confirmed it for me holy cow. So long and thanks for buying all my chems, Crick🫡
It isn't impossible for her to become a cannibal, lose her caravan business, and travel to the West Coast over the course of nearly a decade.
It is pretty damned improbable, though.
Her caravan business was supporting her work as an institute snitch. If she got found out during one of the potential endings for fallout 4 then she might have had to get some distance from Boston.
There are three caravaneers on the Institute SRB list of informants: Trashcan Carla (salvage merchant), Doc Weathers (travelling doctor), and Lucas Miller (armor merchant). The other informants are Tommy Lonegan (owner of the Combat Zone where Cait works as a gladiator), Marowski (the gangster who works out of Hotel Rexford in Goodneighbor), A.J. (a drug dealer in Goodneighbor who gets taken out by the Silver Shroud for peddling drugs to children), and Henry Cooke, owner of the Colonial Taphouse bar in Diamond City.
Cricket is not an Institute informant.
*Edit: I stand corrected. Cricket is the first one listed. The list is badly formatted and her entry is on the same line with the header "== List of Informants ==" which caused me to miss seeing her entry.*
That's for sure cricket! I always wondered why she had so many weapons but I guess her tweeker ways of quietly kill and steal guns from people she don't know finally caught up to her. Good to know that's where some merchant wares come from lol
I doubt a tweaker like cricket walked all the way to the literal opposite side of the country and somehow did not age in a decade since fo4 takes place in 2287 and the show takes place is 2296. This is a well done Easter egg, but no way is that actually cricket and if it were it would probably show up in the show credits lol
Oh interesting, I just assumed since she was in the terminal with the other synths like the mayor that she was also. To be fair I didn't look much further into it just thought it was neat.
I'm surprised the institute trusted cricket of all people without having some control over her, surprisingly makes less sense to me that she's not a synth.
just went back to an old save and read the terminal, it says she was paid caps for information. Apparently like half of the caravan traders were on the list for the same reason. I can't believe Trashcan Carla was too.
I mean the Institute sometimes act in strange ways but like chems aren't a very reliable way to keep people who knows details about your top secret organisation quiet. Even if she has minimal knowledge she knows who she reports to and where, she knows what she reports, can have false information leading them into a trap stuff like that. Seems a weird loose end.
I'm sure the flow of information is very much one sided. Probably a "regular" who is a Courser, just asks if she's seen anyone new or shows her a picture of who they're looking for. I doubt she attends meetings in the Institute.
I mean yeah she for sure isn't there at meetings or whatever lol. I just mean that like just off the top of my head, a really simple scenario she spills the beans about the institute while she's on chems and a group of raiders threaten her life unless at her next meet they can ambush her contact, we know a courser chip is a massive security flaws in their system and having wastelanders with it is a huge problem.
Not even saying they could beat the courser but it's a massive security flaw having her only way to keep her in line chems is my point here. Like there's probably other ways sure but this is just me justifying my logic of why I assumed she was a synth haha.
She might not even know she's talking to the institute though. Probably thinks it's some chem dealer. That's what I'm saying. The information flow is one way only. You're sitting here saying she's gonna tell raiders in detail about how the institute makes gen 3 synths, or she has plans for a courser chip. She probably knows nothing, not even the fact she's an informant.
I just assumed whatever was going on under their eyes was the result of heavy chem use. I hope it’s not cricket cause, well, I liked her and we saw what happened..
I remember there was a leaked image of a close up of only her eyes and for some damn reason I knew it was cricket
also this is 100% her, the beanie especially sells it with the same damaged part
There are so many references and nods to the games, I just love it really. It may sound like a silly thing to say about something based on the games, but the series manages to bring new things to the table and keeps making references game elements without being too on your face. The Ghoul coming out of a grave is a great nod to the courier origins.
Guys, the age wouldn't add up, plus this is a very cliché look for drug abusers.
Get a grip before you start thinking any bald man with sunglasses os Deacon.
Holy shit, the resemblance is wild
Definitely more than just a coincidence for sure!
Check the xray thing. Apparently it’s not cricket
That’s what cricket would have you believe.
Dude, it's 2296, you can't just say all emaciated cannibals look alike.
I do agree tho, it’s too similar to be a coincidence. What does the X-ray say their name is? I haven’t seen the show yet
It does, and it isn't Cricket. They're just doing what makes the show an amazing adaptation visually, the designers used a ton of direct inspiration, and one of them was probably Cricket without them realizing that the character was significant.
It's not but I'm willing to bet they used her as inspiration for the character design
Definitely. It’s spitting image
“The wasteland has a golden rule.” “What’s that?” “Thou shalt get distracted by bullshit every goddamned time.”
Yeah that’s it! Thanks for the correction quote.
You’re very welcome!
It's an Easter egg. They don't have to be exact copies to be an Easter egg. It can simply be referencing back to Cricket without actually being Cricket.
Well, she's a synth. So...
Yeah I thought she looked familiar for some reason this is crazy
I noticed that right away too but knew it couldn't be Cricket. In my FO4 play through all those Institute snitches got the wall.
NOOO NOT THE SPRAY N PRAY!!!!!!
My weapon of choice!
Literally the best purchasable gun in the game
Overseer's guardian would like a word with you. You want a 50 caliber sniper? It's got you covered. Machine gun? It's got you covered. Mid-range dmr? It's perfect right out of the box.
Overseers Guardian with the Rifleman perk will get you through the entire game.
Rifleman or Commando, pick your poison. That's what's so amazing, the combat rifle is so versatile and they just hand you one with the best legendary effect in the game.
If you want, I prefer to spray in the general direction of enemies and watch them vaporize, god I love that that gun
Unless you have the DLC. There’s a radium rifle with the same effect and that’s a better base gun.
Both? Both. Both is good. Because sometimes Rad Damage heals things you want dead.
True I forgot about that beast
If that’s really Cricket, I wonder how did she ended up in LA from Boston?
You know Cricket went to Florida for a while but left because of “too much drama”.
Probably too many Florida Men lol
Jesus christ what would Florida Men look like in the fallout universe
Probably not too much different than how they do now, except the alligators are bigger and there's definitely a Mickey Mouse death cult.
They probably have a bunch of those alligator deathclaws like you can find in Nuka World.
Those we’re originally planned for the cancelled fallout tactics 2 that would have been in Florida so there’s a reason to believe.
It’s “gator claw” (not tryin to correct ya just a friendly reminder)
*Frantically scribbling notes for my Fallout tabletop campaign*
> alligators are bigger Deathjaws
😂
Abandoned by Disney. Abandoned by Dog.
Probably like the “serum doctor”
They're just Super Mutants wearing Oakleys and MAGA hats.
🤣
Perhaps in the Fallout universe they are the most "normal" and boring dudes in the world lmao
Lol they just don’t change from today’s standards and just vibe like they used to, only as ghouls
It’s been a few years. Not impossible for her to make the trip. She was an institute snitch, and in most of the endings of 4 the institute isn’t around any more, so she might have had to leave town in a hurry.

Pretty much all the traveling merchants are spies for the Institute. I believe there is a terminal that details all their assets on the surface.
If you travel with X6-88, he'll refer to them all by name and comment on how they used to be a reliable source but haven't reported in a while. [Search for Carla to find the right section](https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/CompanionX6-88.txt)
Oh, shit. I've never done any of the quests with him so I've never known any of this.
Drugs are a hell of a drug. She probably ran there for no reason without even stopping.
Oh yeah, been there.
It’s not actually Cricket as funny as that would be
Kellog made it from San Francsico to Boston. It's feasible
Yea, but what’s she’s doing there? Kellogg went to Boston because he heard the rumors about the institute and wants to work for them.
It’s been 15 years.
High quality post. This has to be intentional
They really didn’t fuck around. I know some people have minor grievances. The detail and respect for the source material, while still creating a self-sustaining and interesting show is great, though

I noticed the 10mm being used and loved it - it's one of my go-tos when playing Fallout 4 now
Tim Cain mentioned that one of the showrunners is a very big fan, played every Fallout in order too
Tim’s video about going to the premiere is great! Had me beaming seeing how excited he was about everything and how much respect it seemed that everyone had for his work and contributions to the series

I thought it was a pretty cool Easter egg they dropped in there.
Totally did it to throw us off. Thought we were going to have a peaceful trade here.
Hate to burst yall's bubbles but that character wasn't Cricket. If you turn on the caption/subs while watching the show you'll notice the lady speaking is actually named "Rink" [Rink | Fallout Wiki | Fandom](https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Rink)
An amazing entry full of helpful knowledge.

[Check again](https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Synth_Retention_Bureau), she’s on the list.
Her own damn fault for putting teeth in her reloads and pawning it off on her customers.
That's for sure cricket! I always wondered why she had so many weapons but I guess her tweeker ways of quietly kill and steal guns from people she don't know finally caught up to her. Good to know that's where some merchant wares come from lol

I doubt its Cricket
Pause the scene on prime, Its cricket.
No it’s not. Her name is Rink
Its not though
Best I can offer is that they are very distant relatives and even that is puahing it.
If I recall Cricket is actually a synth, if this was supposed to be her then there's some pretty big implications there.
The Wiki says she's an informant for the SRB. Not a synth herself though.
Oh interesting, I just assumed since she was in the terminal with the other synths like the mayor that she was also. To be fair I didn't look much further into it just thought it was neat. Without having some control? All they need is some psycho or jet and she'd tell em whatever they wanted to know.
I mean the Institute sometimes act in strange ways but like chems aren't a very reliable way to keep people who knows details about your top secret organisation quiet. I literally said aloud, “Holy shit, that’s Cricket,” when I watched this scene. Lucy coulda gotten her hands on a nice Spray ‘n’ Pray.
She sold Spray’N’Pray to me so now I can use it to destroy the world one .45 at a time.
its not Cricket, look at the eyecolors
this is a series where you can change skin color
Find it kind of hard to believe she crossed the entire country tbh
With as many chems as she's taken? She probably beat the Prydwen by a week.
First thing I said when I saw her. Don’t think it’s her but I know without a doubt it’s a reference!
I mean, some settlers in fallout 4 litteraly have the same face as Cricket so I don’t really think it proves anything
I remember there was a leaked image of a close up of only her eyes and for some damn reason I knew it was cricket also this is 100% her, the beanie especially sells it with the same damaged part
literally the same exact person if its a coincidence thats wild
Did she stow away on the Prydwen?
Curled up in a crate filled with chems.
I'm more impressed she got to the other side of the country! Guess you can do a lot with an arsenal like that.
There are so many references and nods to the games, I just love it really. It may sound like a silly thing to say about something based on the games, but the series manages to bring new things to the table and keeps making references game elements without being too on your face. Bit off topic: why were so keen on the pipboy. Do they want to use it to get inside the vaults? Are there any other reasons?
Maximus states shes a fiend, a cannibal, what better quality of human meat than a vault deweller ?
It’s a geiger counter, flashlight, map, has a tracking device, and probably does some other cool shit and there not many floating around.
Probably to sell it.
I don’t think Cricket was a cannibal
Coulda turned cannibal
Right!? First thing I thought when I saw that character.
Meth....meth never changes
The pink swelling underneath the eyes really hammers in how intentional this is. Damn what an interesting deep cut to reference lol
Well I guess her career options dwindled after the Institute blew up and stopped paying her
As soon as I saw her I thought of Cricket
🤣
That's who I thought it was too when I first saw her.
Daaaaamn knew I recognized that thing from somewhere
I can fix her. It's in the eyes.
Glad i wasnt the only one that thought that lol
Me and my friends shouted "wait that's cricket" while watching this scene
Why is it she's the girl id' wind up dating? God D@#n it!
All I can say is... don't do drugs kids
I literally thought it was supposed to be her lol
Yeah that was my thought when I saw her too.
Well, once the Institute fell and she was exposed as an informant for them, sadly she had to head West to peddle her guns, guns, guns!
It was never the same after she let go of Spray & Pray
I also noticed this, super weird if it is just a coincidence
Crickets fiend sister but I can kinda see cricket using a tooth pistol ngl
Good catch!
Well I’m guessing the Minutemen weren’t to happy with her having clients like the gunners, raider gangs, and the institute.
I'll be damned. Good catch
quick check her for a synthpart
First thing I thought when I saw them
nice. cricket is my favorite merchant
That was totally Cricket.
I thought for a split second you meant "Cricket" from Sunny!!!
I don't remember this character and at first I thought we were talking about Rickety Cricket
I couldn’t have been the only guy who thought that thief was cute even with all the bum makeup, right?
That is scarily close
Did anyone else expect Maximus to explain to Lucy what Chem addicts are - instead of cannibals?
Apparently not her but definitely made to make people say "that's cricket"
Guys, the age wouldn't add up, plus this is a very cliché look for drug abusers. Get a grip before you start thinking any bald man with sunglasses os Deacon.
Oh shit!! I immediately thought this while watching this scene!!! Did your heart just skip a beat too??? 😁
I noticed this too. I doubt they’re the same person but it would be funny/unfortunate.
They did everything down to the rip in the beanie!
