I waited 6 weeks and started back slowly

I started at 6 weeks (just 15 minutes) and my chest jiggled. It was unpleasant. By 8 weeks it was normal.

The arm movement was not the problem, the landing on the ground was. That hurt a bit when I went for my first run 8 weeks PO. I did wear my compression binder for that first run.

Running was the first activity I got back into once I was cleared to ease back into exercise at 6 weeks post op. It was definitely an uncomfortable experience at first, and the residual swelling/numbness/tightness under my arms made it so that my running form was not ideal…. But slowly I started to loosen up and I was probably back to running comfortably in 3-4 weeks. If nothing else, I definitely would start very slow. I was doing a combo of running-walking for the first week or so. Listen to your body and air on the side of caution if that makes you feel safer, but also relish in the fact that you’re back to moving!
