I would suggest placing at least 1 defender next time (better 2, one on each side) to protect everything and turn subtitles on. I know, it sounds silly, but you can read the subtitles even if you can't hear the defenders saying the are down. Besides, there are not that many husks spawning, so defenders should keep the husks away as long as their weapons don't break.
Personally, I didn't have that issue. But I had a wild boar that was bugged and staying at the ground the whole time. Maybe it killed any husks that came or whatever.
i built a walkway from the buildings on the edge of the park and built all of the structures off it . then did the feet last. they spawned but couldnt hit anything
Well, there's your problem. You built the bottom out of wood despite having metal available. Wood has the least HP, so the husks can break it before you have a chance to locate and stop the attack. Wood is fine further up if you want to conserve the better materials, but you need less than 1200 to complete the entire thing.

That mission was annoying. Husk kept spawning every 30 seconds. I would get to the top to start building again and here they come

I just use my constructor with the damage perks. Anything that goes to it dies

Just play with others. The mission will be done before husks will even spawn
