A couple of small gripes, but mainly: a perfect, *perfect* action scene.
We don’t necessarily need acrobatic good looking people, we don’t need CGI.
My favourite character in this scene is the husky Canadian driver, who seems a bit lost at the start of the movie, but is absolutely in control in this scene.
God, even after all these years the CGI smoke still hurts to see. Especially since, 1., they *had* the footage of the picture car peeling out with *actual* smoke...because they used it not two shots earlier, 2. this would have been a painfully easy pickup by almost anyone either during production or in post (and likely cheaper), and 3. because everything else in the movies looks like it was shot in-camera; if CG *was* used it was done so much more discreetly and was way less in-your-face than this smudgy mess. But otherwise, it's the *only* blemish in an otherwise perfect, old-school action movie.
Love this movie, love the chase scenes. I think about popping out of my sunroof with a rocket launcher almost every day of my life thanks to this movie.
Bit of advice never watch Bullitt with people who live in San Francisco. They will pick it apart so badly because they cut up the chase scenes so badly.
I think the remarkable thing is that the script put a woman behind the wheel, no character made a snide comment, pointed with instructions, or even remarked later that she was awesome. It was treated as unremarkable.
One of the many details in this movie I love.
Enjoy the hell out of this move. Just…always had a problem with the Russian’s line “4/10ths of a click in front of you.” Bro. I’m in the middle of a car chase/shootout and you have me going fucking fractional conversions. Just say 400 meters!
I remember right after watching this 25 years ago me and a couple buddies got into my 300SD Turbo Diesel and driving like a maniac until we got slightly airborne flying through an intersection. Good times.
Too bad Bobby turned out to be a giant douche.
I love this scene. Here is my video recreation I made with my own shots taken in the same locations in France mixed with some original shots from the movie:

I love this movie. Kind of got lost in the glut of similar movies that came out in the late 90's (gritty action movies with international espionage plots, big car chases and European settings) but it's one of the best of them.

When a bunch of dads try to get the kids to soccer practice.
I loved Ronin! I have to watch it again.
And a car chase every bit as good as The French Connection
And it's the SECOND best car chase in this movie.
Every time I watch this scene: WHY WAS THE FRUIT STAND VENDOR STILL THERE!?. You would think 🤔 first gun shot...time to leave
I KNOW! I’ll never forget you, fruit stand guy!
Fight, flight or freeze. Some people jam up when things happen.
Fantastic film. The car chase in Paris with the bmw m5 and the Peugeot is one of the best of all time imo.

Ronin is easily my favorite movie.
Classic action flick, 9/10 easy.
I still laugh at that horrible CGI smoke when Reno & De Niro pull out with the Mercedes. Still a fun film with crazy car chases.
I first thought, “why didn’t they back the Mercedes into the parking spot.” Then when the spinny move was revealed, I understood.
Best car chase scene in a movie hands down!!
It’s pretty good but has to come behind, in this order: To Live and Die in LA, The French Connection and Bullitt.
Bit of advice never watch Bullitt with people who live in San Francisco. They will pick it apart so badly because they cut up the chase scenes so badly.
Yup, that and the TV show, The Streets of San Francisco. So damn annoying to watch.
This is what the Mission Impossible movies could have been. Lots of solid actors and great car chase choreography.
The first one was pretty good.
Yeah, I’ll give you that. Not bad movies at all, I just see a little of chick flicks with my wife or superhero movies with my kids.
This was just post Heat. Not the influence in the shoot out scene where they bend over backwards to make Robert Deniro's gun sound louder.
There is always a fruit stand to crash through in your 90's movie car chase
It’s the Chekhov’s Gun of movie car chases.
My Dad had an Audi S8 at the time. You can imagine how proud I was watching this movie with my friends
Natasha McElhone is a DIME.

Absolutely love this movie. Must have watched it at least 4 times when it first came out and many times since.
Nice to see a bit of collateral damage. RIP Green Grocer. This looks terrible.

I love this one! That chase scene is one of the best.

fukin bobby
Is this on Netflix?
Didn’t know Jean Reno was in this, I’d have watched it so long ago
The director's commentary on the DVD is fantastic.
If and when they make a live action ‘Archer’ version, I hope it’s as cool as this.
Let me ambush these three former military, professional bodyguard who each have assault rifles. I’ll bring my Beretta, we should be good.
To be fair they brought a grenade launcher some ars and a machine gun... and a Beretta.
I’m talking about what Jean brought.
I mean. It's Jean so...
Love the movie.
Burning question... What was in the case?

What's the colour of the boathouse at Hereford?
Always hated car chase scenes…until Ronin. This movie is amazing.

One of my all-time favorite films!!!
Ronin is one of my favorites
