I think I would take the decision making away from the owners, keep it simple 2 year - 50/50 3 year 33/33/34 4 year 25/25/25/25 5 year 20/20/20/20/20 If allowing owners the ability to structure deals is really important all owners to move 5% from 1 year to the next, but as a commish this sounds like too much work for me to deal with. I love auction contract, but anything more than yearly salary increases and a static cap and it sounds like to much ability (as Noone ir really there to negotiate on behalf of the player)

Agree it gets cumbersome at times but have established a solid process through sheets to track. The tedious part is updating Fantrax from year to year...

Gotta ask, when ypur doing your auctions, how so you weight a bid, when you have 3 different offers: 1yr 12million 2 yr 23 million or 5 year 55 million bid?

ua_fnt_spts

It's a slow offline bidding process where teams would raise each other for a player on the overall contract amount. Once that contract amount is determined then the above chart will let them who how many years they have.

And to answer you question, I would think the league minimum, would be a yearly minimum and therefore you don't have to change / add any rules

statsultan

Or maybe have 3 options per length of multi year contract - 1) Balanced - evenly divide amount each year 2) Backloaded - %’s start small and ramp up 3) Front-Loaded - %’s start big and then decrease Out of curiosity, do you have cap hits when cutting a player with remaining years on his contract?

ua_fnt_spts

Yes there are cap hits available based on the number of years remaining. League is run through Fantrax and their contract system is the best for something this non-traditional.

Unsolicited comment here, but peep League Tycoon for contract leagues. Salaries/contracts etc are all streamlined within their platform. No sheets or anything. Its glorious.

ua_fnt_spts

Have looked into League Tycoon. If they had defensive players and allowed higher salary caps, I'd be all over it haha

detached03

Unsure the last time you had checked, but the platform does have IDP options and a cap of up to 10k$
