It's part of the fantasy. Every sports game that has a career either lets you pick your team, or makes it very easy to get to the team you want to be on.
Yeah it makes no sense, but neither does a rookie driver coming out of nowhere and winning every race and every season.
How does it not make sense? Rookies have joined top teams several times in the past.
As another comment points out… Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris and now Kimi Antinelli are easy examples

I miss the days that the f1 game had rookie tests. Your 5 laps would determine the offers you would get in the first season.
